5884761 tn?1376056000 Last days of may 2013 I got really sick, at first had a really awful headache, pain behind the eyes soon fever, not too high, sleepiness(i was sleeping for about 14 hours a day or more), pretty soon I had a very stiff neck and pain on my spine when I was standing or walking, photophobia, I passed out once(the type when everything goes black, and you end up waking up on the floor).
Avatar f tn I just went through few months of swollen lymph nodes, neck pain, night sweats, fatigue and so on and a doctor just finally diagnosed it as viral thyroiditis. I am feeling better now but my question is how common is this and how do you get it?
1201433 tn?1328997637 I have had throbbing pain in my neck on and off, I also have pain in my legs, hips, lower back that is severe enough that I wake every night after 3-4 hours of sleep even though I am exhausted. I assumed it was TX since I never experienced it before, but who knows. I also have occasional twitching on my face and chest. That's just the short list!
Avatar m tn A couple of days ago, I started feeling pain in my neck, this is on the right side, right where I can feel myself swallow. Basically, it's a little bit inward where you'd feel your heartbeat, except probably the wrong side. I forget exactly. The pain hurts, but it's not completely unbearable. Is this related to my cold and what can I do for it? Could it be some sort of ear infection? Seems too low for that.
Avatar f tn In few cases, pan-sinusitis may appear as generalized body weakness, post nasal drip, facial pain since bacterial/viral infection takes some time to resolve completely. In addition, if your sinusitis is due to viral infection, then your leg weakness can be due to post-viral fatigue syndrome and needs some time to resolve completely. In addition, vitamin/nutritional (especially B-complex) may lead to a neuropathy/weakness symptoms.
Avatar f tn Along with that I had tingling and numbness in my hands and feet. I had a negative MRI of my head, neck and pelvis. All of my blood tests have been negative and they tested for anything and everything they could think of. I got better and was symptoms free for 6 months. This January my symptoms came back but without the weakness.
Avatar n tn not sure about the knee and joint pain. could be related. meningitis regardless of bacterial or viral is a scary disease. yes the likelihood of viral killing is slim, but it can have devastating after effects. it is definitely worth talking to his doctor about. go and see an infectious disease doctor if he hasnt already while he was in the hospital. i can only speak from my experience and know that i had similar after effects. i am pretty well now.
Avatar f tn Myotop is stopped now , but headache originating from Head to neck behind the right ear. MRI Scan of the neck shows no viral infection , Brain scan also shows no anomaly. Is the fever & ache due to Spondylosis or any viral infection ?
546802 tn?1215904317 I have TERRIBLE ear and neck pain and lower skull pain and I was on antibiotics for 3 weeks to no avail. Neck pain so bad I could touch my neck vein and it was so sore and I had pain shoot to my temples.. OMG!!!! ICE PACK helped thanks God but... next I spent hundreds of dollars at an ENT and Swallow study and CT scan of sinus and neck only for the ENT to say he has no answers and keep taking the Naproxen he gave me and check back in 2 months!?
Avatar m tn Hi Could exposure to cold weather that causes Shaking and chills cause Sternocleidomastoid pain (Painful neck when turning the head to eater sideband pain in back of the head and chest area when bending the head back and forward ) and then cause symptoms of acute coryza (runny nose, cough,no fever) ? And is it possible getting the same symptoms ( Stiff neck , Runny nose, cough )after another exposure to cold weather with same chills and shivering up to one month after the first time.
Avatar n tn However, there were no other symptoms except fatigue which I felt was secondary to the pain and stress of the neck. I have kept up with the chiro and gotten more relief over time. He does not mechanically adjust it, but does use an electric stimulation which really helps the mobility and the pain is reduced. It's about 5 weeks now and I am much improved, but still going 2X a week. Had a friend who had the exact same symptoms, had spinal tap which was negative for meningitis.
Avatar f tn Presented with severe headache/eye pain and loss of vision and hot/stiff neck. Was also involved in auto accident day before ER presentation. Was given prednisone for 2 1/2 months along with large doses of Skelaxin. MRI was negative for any lesions, cancer, etc.
Avatar f tn Im 21 and I had a sore throat for a month(not bad just when I wake up) but it went away I dont know if this is related but everything on the left side of my body hurts ( my neck gets a sharp pain).(left leg pain above my knee),(left arm pain)(in left ankle pain) .
Avatar f tn when i was around 23 years i started to have severe muscle spasms in my neck and also pain. so i tryed to manage the pain for as long as i could and also left my job due to depression and anxiety because of pain and spasm and couldnt hold my neck properly and felf very conscouse of this. ive had mri scans done and i have minor protrusion in 5 discs in neck and also one facet joint is wearing down and the curve on my neck has changed also.
Avatar n tn Feb '09, I had 3 epidurals as protocol for chronic DDD pain (I've lost most of 4 discs in my neck & have 2 lumbar fusions)..hoped to help delay a cervical fusion. Within next week, I started feeling punky. Normally very healthy, other than the bone/disc issues. Pain patients tend to 'work thru' discomfort and I did just that. By end of March, I thought I must have flu. By 2nd night of fire screaming headaches, I was in a twilight state. Neighbor got me to ER. vomiting.
Avatar f tn i have realized that the pain is seemingly behind my ear and my neck/node in area feels tender. When I am not dosing myself with ibuprophen( I was taking percocet at night but hated the side effects ) I am acutely aware now of pain in the neck in a localized area; below my ear. The doctor ordered an M.R.I. which I a awaiting and thought it could be a disc irritating a nerve but I am very unsure of that because the pain in my neck feels deeper than that.
Avatar n tn Now, 3 weeks later, he is still having trouble walking and moving around. He has some neck pain and lower back pain. The doctor said it was due to being laid up in the hospital for 2 weeks. We have heard it takes a long time to get over. Can anyone give us an update as to how they are coming along? We would appreciate any information yo can give us. Thanks! This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Along with cold symptoms since you also have sever neck pain, chances of meningitis are there. On the other hand viral flu causes neck pain and headache too. It is also possible that you have infectious mononucleosis. You have searched well! However you now need to consult another doctor ASAP as the treatment from this doctor is not helping. You also need to run tests to rule out both meningitis and mono. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn Anyways mid way through the holiday I had pain on the right side of my neck and a little in my ear as the holiday progressed the pain was less apparent. The pain was not chronic but more of a nuisance like a muscle ache in the neck and a feeling of a clogged ear. Now somewhat 3 weeks after the holiday I have had the same feelings in ear and neck near enough everyday since. They are not excruciating but as I say they just feel as a muscle ache.
Avatar m tn A year and a half ago, I was in a pretty bad car accident. My car barrell rolled at 45mph about 3-4 times. I was not wearing a seat belt and was able to get out of the car and brought to the hospital for a couple stitches in my hands from the glass. About three months after the accident, I began to expierence muscle problems. The muscles in my legs and back began to hurt terribly. I was no longer able to do yoga or really any type of activity for a long period of time.

Avatar n tn m on Neurontin for the pain and paresthesia. Anyone else have a post viral experience or advice? Currently i have deep muscle pain in my butt and thighs, though that might be linked to the Yellow fever shot i had about 6 days ago. Anyway, looking to see if these symptoms could be MS related, or if pain and muscle spasm are later signs of the disease.
Avatar n tn Hi, 4 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with viral myocarditis after being admitted to the hospital for chest pain, fainting, vomitting and fatigue. I had a history of respiratory infection, conjunctivitus, colds, etc in the months leading up to this. I had an angiogram because of positive triponin, and that showed a reduced EF of approx 40%.
Avatar m tn I have been deeling with pain in my neck for a few years now going back and forth to my doctor I had pain shooting down left arm .Numbness in my hand.Grinding in my neck. The feeling of a pinch in my neck.I recently had MRI showing heniaded disc.I am going to pain management soon.My Question......Can the disc cause swollan glands in my neck?
Avatar n tn One I have never experienced before and pain in my neck. They gave me a spinal tap and I was told I had viral meningitis. I stayed home the second week and came back to work yesterday. Though my headaches have subsided (so grateful), I am still congested, have a runny nose, and feel like I've overdone it. Today I woke up with that neck pain again. (ugg!) Do you think I didn't give myself long enough to recuperate or will some symptoms just linger a bit?
