Avatar f tn I was hoping that someone would be able to suggest some type of pain relief other than acetametaphin or ibuprofen. I am really struggling with the pain in my neck & base of the head. My new Cine-MRI is not until Feb.8 & followup neurosurgeon appt. on Feb.14...started with numbness & tingling under my right arm today & the "foggy",dry, inflammed feeling in my eyes has gotten worse over the last couple of days. Can someone please help me???
1672915 tn?1335220598 I am 5 mnths post op and still have unbearable pain in my neck, left shoulder that sometimes go down my arm, low back and right hip pain. Last mnth I had Mri's done and my surgeon said they look good. I went and saw a pain Dr. and he put me on a muscle relaxer that's supposed to help but so far it hasn't. I am having more pain now then I did before surgery and I am becoming very depressed. I am worried that when I go back to the pain Dr.
Avatar f tn I had it done and it is amazing how much it has helped. Gone from taking megadoses of pain killers for the neck and shoulder/back pain to letting my almost full bottle of pain killers expire. The nerves do grow back but hopefully the protrusion has receded enough to not be afecting the spine/nerves. ALSO, found that this pain is not uncommon for those bending down to read the computer screen for hours on end. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn kinds of pain like with Terry she has migrains, i have neck pain from having 2 disc replaced and 4 fussed togather, also have 2 herniated disc in back with spurs around them. so there would be diff. types of management tho both are in pain. for me I drive alot for work and im out of town alot and its very time consuming to do what it takes to manage my pain. Like exercise or walking heating pad ice musle rubs and a patch that works well but i cant reach where my back hurts to put it on.
510009 tn?1211677335 I need help finding pain relief for my cervical pain that has been getting worse since my surgery in 05. I'm on pain pills and I'd like to be free of those also. I have no medical insurance and my last doctor disabled me from working above my chest area. I've done nothing but drywall since I was 18. I have been relying solely on my husband to take care of me. I am down more days than I'm up. Just the simple things will knock me down. Depression is setting in hard.
Avatar f tn I'm only 10 weeks 5 days and I have been having horrible neck, back, and hip pain. I'm confused, since I haven't gained any substantial weight. (Maybe 5 pounds?) Is this normal or cause for alarm? Also, any ideas for relief? I'm worried about taking any medications, so any advice from experience would be greatly appreciated.
1554181 tn?1294328303 With the rizotomy I still have all the other symptoms, the discomfort in neck and head is the worst of them, but at least no pain. This gives me quality of life I otherwise would not have had. My neurosurgeon prefers not to operate unless it becomes critical to do so. In South Africa not many cases of ACM is seen. I am lucky to be at a NS who has knowledge of it and is careful in his treatment. It does not take away the ACM or change the progression, only controls pain.
1268921 tn?1288919056 If you are having neck pain too? Ice pack on the back of my neck helps alot. I guess relieves inflammation back there. I had an allergic reaction a few weeks ago and the prednisone I was on for that REALLY helped but prednisone really causes unacceptable symptoms too.
Avatar n tn I have had a neck twitch since elementary school but my parents didn't think it was anything. I am 25 years old and I am in an extremely stressfull management position which may be contributing to this condition. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD and I am prescribed Vyvanse. I also am prescribed Alprazolam to help with my twitch, it helps a little but it is still unbarable.
620923 tn?1452915648 I wish I had a tub I fit in. At 5'10" I just don't fit in the bath in my kids bathroom. Some day I hope to re-do my large walk-in shower to a shower over jacuzzi tub combo. There's room. I relax by lying in my dark room(I just made blackout curtains) and watching old sitcoms I DVR or just napping.

Avatar n tn Surgery does not always improve pain in DDD, though it can stabilize the spine when needed. Interventional pain management techniques may help with pain. Anti-inflamatory medication may help. Other treatments may offer pain relief. We cannot offer medical advice here, so please consult with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I've had forward head posture for my whole life. Recently it's been causing severe neck pain and migraines. I've been working with a chiropractic doctor and it's gotten a bit better, but it's so very painful. Any one here ever corrected severe head forward posture? How did you do it and what helped relieve the pain? Anyone use chiropractic to help it? I'm also doing exercises from chiro to 'restore the curve to my neck.
Avatar m tn First I had a laminectomy and felt ok but the neck pain came back after a few months then I had a fusion and the pain came back. in addition, prior to my fist surgery, my forefinger and thumb got numb. I can feel things but it's like there is a layer of wax covering the area. After the second surgery the pain came back and it's been a year of tests and possible diagnoses i.e. the fusion didn't take (I don't have a plate, just a bone graft).

10366239 tn?1409616907 My ribs hurt excruciatingly bad. I can't find any relief. I've not found any techniques or advice to help. I struggle all day trying to be as comfortable as possible and it hinders me from doing much. I hardly go out of the house to do anything because I spend the whole time squirming in pain. I'm only 22 weeks and it just gets worse every day. I don't wear a bra most of the time because even loose sports bras apply too much pressure.
