1960024 tn?1355014582 I have had pretty severe Pain in the back of my neck that radiates into the back of my head for about 5 months now. I've seen my Dr. and at first he said a pulled muscle then when it did not go away he tried PT, still no relief so he tried these shots that numbed the area for a couple hours, but that was it. There's also lumps now, at my hairline and in the mid neck close to the spine, I decided to see another Dr.

Avatar n tn I have been experiencing these severe headaches.. like migraines for about a month and a half or more now and keep getting treated for just migraines, but the problem is.. the pain starts between my shoulder blades (like in my spine) then goes up through my neck then into my head, so yes I am experiencing migraines, but the pain lies more in my neck and back, so I don't know who I need to see or what I should do, because none of it is helping me and I am in so much pain all the time.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering from constant head/neck pain for over 10 years. The pain begins behind the ear, right side above the base of the skull. It radiates down the spine below the shoulder blades. I have had the following treatments: cervical spine fusion c5/c6 due to rupture disk, botox injections to the head, neurostimulater implant 4 yrs then removed, steroid injections, and taken huge quantities of narcotic pain relievers.
Avatar n tn the headaches started at about age 13 (i am now 48), always in the back of my head/neck with pounding that has never been relieved by any pain medicine. I get these headaches about once a month they can last from 1 day to a week or more. Besides having massage and acupuncture I have seen chiropractors, and have had trigger point release from a Neurologist, I even use Lidocain patches on the back of my neck.

Avatar n tn Did they not prescribe some Neurontin or Lyrica for your nerve pain? The only thing I can think of would be Advil or Motrin, which would help with nerve inflammation. If you are unable to take prescription meds, you might would want to look into reflexology or accupuncture. Have you had an MRI yet? I am very sorry that you are experiencing this pain.
Avatar f tn Hi Sue: I'm so sorry you're having this pain. I get neck injections as well. Mine usually last a few months. Have you asked your doctor these questions? Hopefully someone who knows more will answer you.

Avatar f tn Tension headaches usually present with dull-type of headache. While pain at the back of head or neck that intensifies on movement may be caused by inflammation of the blood vessels of the head or bony changes in the structures of the neck. Anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants may help provide relief. If your present medications do not help, inform your doctor for proper management.Change of dosage or medicine may be indicated. Take care and regards.
