11473749 tn?1437899164 I've had lower back pain all morning for 5 hours & it's not going away like it usually does. I'm due tomorrow so wondering or hoping more like that this is the beginning of Labour. I've got my tens machine out and it's helping take away this dull pain. Anyone else planning on using a tens machine or have had any experience with one, how was it for you? A lot of women don't know about it it's a shame because its a really good form of pain relief in my opinion..
Avatar f tn i have a pain in my left breast that feels like a tightening and pulling, it happened this morning then again today about 3 oclock, i now have a constant pain at the bottom of my neck at my shoulder blades
407812 tn?1211307057 I know that the headaches are caused by the pain in my neck and shoulders because they intensify whenever I do anything to increase the neck pain. The hope is probably for you to receive relief from the pain in your back and neck and thus relieve the pain causing headaches. Hope you find relief.
Avatar n tn There is a certain type of PT that many benefit from with neck and back pain - but costly if you dont have insurance. People with blown out discs even see good results so its worth looking into. Regular PT is not that great. The neck and back machine that works like no other is called Med -X. Goggle it. These machines are patented so no other brand will do what these do. Maybe contact the company to find out what PT clinic close to you has this particular machine.

Avatar f tn Recently finished PT for a flare due to a fall and ended up having traction on a decompression machine after weeks and weeks of PT were only dulling the pain. . It was the BEST thing. I know have a home traction unit that is similar to the decompression machine only portable. Now I use that when I have a flare, take Lodine daily, use ice and heat when need be and am going to the YMCA and using weights and exercising. Took me a while to build up to where I am but it helps a lot.
1672915 tn?1335220598 I am 5 mnths post op and still have unbearable pain in my neck, left shoulder that sometimes go down my arm, low back and right hip pain. Last mnth I had Mri's done and my surgeon said they look good. I went and saw a pain Dr. and he put me on a muscle relaxer that's supposed to help but so far it hasn't. I am having more pain now then I did before surgery and I am becoming very depressed. I am worried that when I go back to the pain Dr.

Avatar f tn Hi Mamas! I just can't make my mind up about what pain relief method to go for in labour. What methods did you go for and what was your experience? Epidural, gas, injection,...would you choose the same method again? Why/ why not? Thank you!
Avatar f tn I am a LimboLander with an uncomfortable new symptom--or maybe not a symptom?? I have a stiff neck--and not the kind that you get after you sleep weird--and not like something is "out." It's just this line of pain from my neck dowm my right arm--and up to my jaw--I feel stupid asking because maybe it's just a stiff neck--but I've never had pain like this before and was just wondering if this sounds like something to add to my log of sx or if it seems unrelated.

1554181 tn?1294328303 With the rizotomy I still have all the other symptoms, the discomfort in neck and head is the worst of them, but at least no pain. This gives me quality of life I otherwise would not have had. My neurosurgeon prefers not to operate unless it becomes critical to do so. In South Africa not many cases of ACM is seen. I am lucky to be at a NS who has knowledge of it and is careful in his treatment. It does not take away the ACM or change the progression, only controls pain.
Avatar f tn Well, I have had my second spinal steroid injection. I got relief from the headaches for about a week. My doctor has also sent me to a chiropractic clinic which I was worried about going to at first since every other time I have gone they pop and crack my joints and I leave in worse pain than I went in with but I went and I am very glad that I did. I have had three appointments each one I get anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes on the tens machine and then comes a massage.
11473749 tn?1437899164 I've had 3 babies. First one had epidural and gas&air such didn't recall of help with pain relief. 2nd just gas &air. 3rd I used a tens machine gas&air and let me tell you it took nearly all the pain of labour away! I'm now pregnant with my 4th and not that worried about labour because I now know about the tens machine. Has anyone else used one and did they work for you? Which brand would you recommend?

582396 tn?1259863489 the body needs the pause in the treatment ( mine was 60 mins machine on, 60 minutes machine off) to allow the body time to build up its natural pain dosage to an ffective pain relief dose. oh. and i bought my tens machine from a nz web auction site called Trade Me and paid 50 new zealand dollars. i use it often and it is as effective ,if not more so that the hospitals unit i first ever used. Hope this helps somebody!!
