Common Questions and Answers about Neck pain osteoporosis

You are so young. I was just diagnosed with osteoporosis in the right neck. 5 years ago I just had osteopenia. I'm 65. Degeneration of the lower spine is common with people my age. Revolution: the osteoporosis is not "acting up". The chiropractor is very gentle and helps me greatly whenever I have any pain. I don't know what I will do when he retires. I've been going to him for years. I have been in 6 auto accidents. So I'm lucky to be alive.
I dont really know very much about this condition, but my mom and grand mothers both had Osteoporisis severely and could I have inherited it from them? I have had alot of pain in my neck and area below feels like a bump/hump or hard place and I am worried. It looks like my neck and back starting to curve. I have always took multivitamins and had plenty of calcium and vitamin D in my diet so I thought that would be a good preventative from getting Osteoporosis.
I've been experiencing alot of different pains lately due to withdrawal from Fentanyl & Oxycodone. I was told I have Osteoporosis, I have pain in my shoulder in the front and into my neck, sometimes going down my arm abit. I'm worried not knowing what pain is what.... any ideas or info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you....
known negative drug interactions with Fosamax and Piroxicam. Is the pain a result of this and is there a better treatment for osteoporosis without these side effects ? Thanks for your time.
Seems like I have some off the wall symptoms compared to others. I have been dealing with neck pain again for the past week, which has gotton unbearable and radiating the past two days. No new neuro symptoms with it, but this is exactly what my first MS episode presented itself as, except it was on my right side, and this time it is on my left. I have a call into my doc, waiting to hear back to see if she wants me to start on steriods or not.
Hello, Neck pain can be due to many causes. It can be due to injury, a mechanical or muscular problem, a trapped nerve caused by a bulge in one of the discs between the vertebrae, or from arthritis of the neck. Sometimes it can be due to slipped disc, brittle bones (osteoporosis), deformed natural curvature of the spine (scoliosis) and, very rarely, structural damage due to tumors or infection.
Felt burst of pain at left base of neck. Think I blacked out momentarily. Shaking badly. But because the pain was just a burst, I thought I was OK. I contacted my neurosurgeon's office and was sent for a neck x-ray, which showed no fracture. Within 24-36 hours of accident developed severe neck pain in left side of neck; head tilted and turned far right. Feb - Aug: Because the neurosurgeon said I had whiplash, I turned to a D.O.
Day 4 of intense headache and now severe neck pain. My guess is we're off to the ER shortly, as it's gotten pretty bad. Sigh - more med changes!
I have severe osteoporosis, my bones are the age of a woman 87, I am 45. This illness was discovered following a grand mal seizure in which I passed on, and in order to revive me, my spouse hit my chest and back alternately so I would breath, which worked, but ended up breaking 4 vertibrae, which also wasnt spotted by the hospital, and it wasnt until a week following I insisted on an xray, then tah-dah. Anyhow, I often break bones, primarily my toes and fingers.

The pain I started with before the surgery is exactly the same now 6 months later. I had head and neck pain before surgery now it has increased to numbness in my arms and now a little in my legs and feet. I have gone back to the surgeon and he basically said there is nothing else he can do and has refused to see me any more. He is one of the best surgeons and nobody wants to question his work.
She has osteoporosis, COPD, one functioning kidney, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, anxiety, and it has been suggested that she have stints put in her heart. Her neck started out stiff with severe pain-this was around 8 or 9 weeks ago, just last week she was told that she had a broke neck. We are concerned that she would not make it through surgery.

1)Osteoporosis 2) straightening of the cervical and lumbar spine, and 3) degenerative arthritis and degnerative disc disease with prominent bone spurs. 1- Please forget about your neck, it s totally unrelated and soon it will resolve spontaneousely. 2- Where is the compresion fracture about which you did a research ! maybe you were exagerating ! 3- Now it is too clear to me that your pain on walk is related most most probably with a vertebral listhesis (sliding). You should do a dynamic view X-ray (lumbar flexion and extension). If Listhesis is confirmed, go for a neurosurgeon who will fix with arthrodesis.

Hi, I am 28 year old male. I had recurrent neck pains for a long time. On doing medical examination I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis in Spine and Osteopenia in whole body which are causing me a lot of pain and suffering. The reason behind this is hypogonadism. Let me give a brief background about me. As a child I was totally ignorant of sexuality (i.e lack of sexual education). So I used to lie on the floor and stimulate my genitals by directly rubbing them on the floor in prone position.
