Avatar f tn I am a LimboLander with an uncomfortable new symptom--or maybe not a symptom?? I have a stiff neck--and not the kind that you get after you sleep weird--and not like something is "out." It's just this line of pain from my neck dowm my right arm--and up to my jaw--I feel stupid asking because maybe it's just a stiff neck--but I've never had pain like this before and was just wondering if this sounds like something to add to my log of sx or if it seems unrelated.

405614 tn?1329144114 I got a letter the other day from the Doctor I saw when I was having the neck/chest pain and sinus infection, the one that sent me for 7 x-ray views of my cervical spine, thinking trouble with a neck vertebrae was causing the neck/chest pain. The letter said: "Other than some early degenerative (arthritic) changes in your wrist, your x-ray looked normal." I read that and laughed and laughed and laughed! I told my roommate, and she laughed ; we were both giggling like schoolgirls!
Avatar m tn Hi, For the past couple of days, I've been having this ongoing neck & upper chest pain! It becomes really painful when I bend over. When I lie down it feels like I'm going to sufficate. When I'm talking, it becomes painful when I inhale & I have to pause & inhale slowly. It doesn't hurt when I swallow, only when I'm taking deep breaths! And when I'm taking deep breaths, it feel as if someone is choking me!

Avatar m tn He said that its due to neck spasm. He investigated my pain using pressure points on my neck, adjusted my neck and suggested below things. 1) Epsom bath 10 minutes/ 2 times a day 2) Ice pack on neck 2 minutes on and 1 minute off for 15 minutes / 3 times a day. 3) Adjustment of my computer screen so that my neck wont get strain. 4) Use left hand for mouse movements at home (any how I will use right hand at office) He asked me to have 3 more visits next week (Mon, Wed, Fri).
Avatar n tn I have had pain in my right shoulder for about 5 months now. My neck area longer than that. I was always told my neck was due to stress or something or another. Now I thing the shoulder and neck are maybe all in one. The doctor I saw today did a xray and said there is some arthritis in the shoulder but not alot and she believes it is my rotator cuff. I kind of suspected thats what it was.
Avatar f tn Google Spinal Disc Decompression and Cold Laser Therapy. Seven montha ago they removed the bones in the back of my neck and replaced it with rods and 18 screws. That was my 8th neck nurgery and am fused from C3 thru T2, now that my neck is totaly fused my pain is pretty much gone after 25 years, so it can still be fixed don't give up. Keep me posted, been there done that.

1755089 tn?1376053555 This has happened to me numerous times. I don't know the exact reason behind it...I just assume that with my neck hurting all the time, it probably gets inflamed and messes with nerves. Please mention any new symptoms to your doctor. If you are concerned or it keeps happening, don't wait for your appointment - give the office a call and tell the nurse. That way if it is concerning to them, they will get you in quicker.
1672601 tn?1305268368 This doctor would not let me leave his office without scheduling an appt for a steroid? block to my neck, which is tomorrow. He stated he has helped people with CM with this before. Frankly, I am scared out of my wits! You are talking to the RN who had three kids without even a Tylenol because I am terrified of having a needle stuck in my spine. Has anyone here had a block done on their neck?
Avatar m tn t neurological. Next morning when he got out of bed the pain (head and Neck) was so bad when he was standing he had to lay back down. The pain goes away when he lays down. Before we left for to go get the CT scan he was sitting in the chair for a few minutes and starting to throw up. He had to lay in the back seat to travel to get the CT Scan. Neurologist office called me and said to take him to the ER because his symptoms were changing. We to ER they took a CT, MRI,MRA all negative.
Avatar m tn i brought her a magnetic neck brace to ease the pain it dose subside it only to the extent it does not reach migrane levels. she is an office worker in front of computer aswell which i guess compounds this issue. .she has a past active history of trampoline competitve involvement and also water sking too. would perhaps an injection at base skull for muscle relaxant be helpful .??
Avatar f tn My left lymph node is also a bit swollen compared to the right one. There is a slight pain where my neck is swollen. It is a little hard to swollow at times, but when I drink green tea it allows me to swollow a lot easier. I went to the Dr. a few days ago and was perscribed an antibiotic for an infection in the throat, which I have been taking for about 2 full days and the pain has subsided a little bit, but not the swelling.

Avatar f tn The meds he wants to use in it are Non Narcotic He says it will not only take care of the pain in my lower back and leg it will help the nerve pain and the pain in my neck and left arm as well. There is one Big catch to this Med. My insurance deductable for this every 3 months could be as high as 500 dollars to have it filled the lowest would be 200 dollars This does Not include his office visit cost. I am on a Limited Income and can not afford to pay that. so now what?
Avatar f tn This can occur spontaneously in people with certain conditions that affect the blood vessels, after neck trauma, or after chiropractic manipulation of the neck. The pain is often but not always associated with some sort of neurologic deficit as a dissection can often lead to a stroke. A dissection is diagnosed with a specific type of MRI test (MRA with fat saturation) or an CT angiogram. I highly suggest you have vessel imaging performed to rule out dissection.
Avatar n tn When was the biopsy done? You might consider calling the docs office and asking the nurse about post-biopsy breast care and what other palliative methods you can use to get the pain under control. You may just have enough swelling going on that it's putting pressure on a nerve and causing the shoulder, arm and neck pain. Nerve pain is notoriously difficult to treat, but if you can get the swelling under control, it should go away.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering from throat/front neck pain. It has been 12 months and getting worse. If you take your hand and put it on your neck, my pain is along the esophagus on both sides. 937826 tn?1261333879 I have COPD and Asthma and am on nocturnal oxygen. I also have pain in the middle of my chest, my neck and shoulders. My doctor believes this is my lungs, not my heart. To be safe, I have had stress tests, and a variety of other heart related tests, all come out negative. The difficulty breathing, coughing, and shortness of breath are probably due to COPD, but do you have a pulmonary specialist you can see about it or are you just seeing a GP?
