768044 tn?1294223436 My head will often feel hot when I am having a migraine but not like that... and it has never felt worse when lying down... often it feels better lying down, unless the pain is so bad that I can lie down, but lying down doesn't make it worse then, it just doesn't make it any better... so lying down making the pain worse was just the weirdest thing ever.
Avatar f tn For over a year I've had chronic pain in the neck upon lying down at night. I'm working with a physical therapist and exercising on a regular basis, but I'm still having problems. I have a herniated disc at L5 S1 which has caused problems when I stand or walk for too long. I have to take breaks every 15 minutes and sit down. Can the nerve from that disc also cause problems in my neck?
Avatar f tn Both of my hands go numb while lying down on phone. The real persistent problem especially in my right hand is when I’m sleeping it falls asleep. I have a pins and needles feeling in my hand, the pain wakes me up out of my sleep. I have found relief when I hang my right arm off the bed, as if the blood is draining back into my hand. It’s getting worse and worse. I’m 50 years old and overweight. I eat poorly because I’ve been stressed going through a divorce.

Avatar f tn Hello, I am a 25 year old female who had had constant arm pain ONLY when lying down or reclining. If the pain comes while lying down within 1 minute of sitting it goes away. This has been occuring for 7 years now. I have been to doctors about it and done everything from massage therepy to and EMG which revealed nothing. It comes and goes with how severe the pain is. One month it will be moderate and the next month I will be sitting in bed crying.

Avatar n tn I'm sorry to hear you've been suffering, and I empathize very much as I came to this website today searching for help with a very similar problem. I'm interested to see many people here have headaches when lying down. Mine differs from yours in that I've had the problem for a few years, but it lately has gotten worse and also has gone from going away when I sit up to being more like your second day, when yours continued.
Avatar m tn The pains are constantly present and are located between my spine and left shoulder blade, my left trapezoid, and my left chest between the breast bone and nipple. The pain increases when breathing deeply and also while lying down on my back. But the weirdest part of all of this is while lying on my back or on my left side, if I breathe in deeply I can hear & feel clicking or popping deep within the chest. This also occurs on the deep exhale.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am having headache only when lying down. It repositions if I turn to the sides, sleeping face down helps relief the pain. It goes away when I sit up or stand up. It's worse if I sleep on a firm pillow. The pain varies every night. Please advise. Thank you. Avatar n tn Get good neck and head support when you are lying down. A cervical pillow and a flat stable bed will be beneficial. Get adequate sleep and eat well .I also suggest that you seek consult with an ophthalmologist and ENT specialist. Sinus headaches may present with a sensation of fullness or pressure. Eye problems may also manifest with headaches. It is best to have this ruled out first.
428506 tn?1296557399 So an example is, I may have tingling in my face/hands/feet while up, but within minutes of lying down, the tingling spreads throughout my torso, and goes pretty much head to toes (except my ears and the top of my nose, to be precise). Even weirded, if I lie on one side or the other, than that side gets more symptoms/tingling than the other side. On my back, it's just all over. This has lead to me sleeping sitting up, or at least propped up, on days when I have a lot of symptoms.
1427932 tn?1282986217 Palpitations that wake you from sleep could be an indication of an irregular heart rhythm, it may be normal for you but you need to have your doctor make that call. Neck pain, abdominal pain, cold extremities from circulation issues, fatigue can all be cardiac as well, different medications can cause issues. You didn't mention if your doctor was aware of all of your symptoms. Too much caffeine can cause heart palpitations and stress and diet can have a huge effect on the body.
Avatar n tn I would think your neck nodes were swollen. Since you are sick, you may be lying in bed with more pillows and bending your neck wrong. It's just not unusual to have neck pain when you are sick, although a very stiff neck can be a sign of meningitis, so be sure you keep that in mind.
Avatar n tn You can also sit in a chair with your head down and not supported, but this will put strain on the neck. I spent a good bit of time lying on my side, propped up on pillows, head down with my face supported by one hand. I think your husband can manage. It will obviously be harder with the back problem. Good luck.
Avatar m tn It is at about the C5 level I would estimate and mostly midline, slightly to my left side mostly. Often it is a dull achy feeling but it does feel inflamed (ie. I can feel it is swollen when water runs on it at times). Other times, when it gets worse it turns to more of a burning and even a bit of a stinging pain as well. Lying down helps it, but doesn't necessarily get rid of it (it comes back upon getting up).
5154898 tn?1374773319 ve been having some upper back pain, along with terrible neck pains at night, like my neck is going to fall off, I also get headaches about every other day!! I know that I am a terrible sloucher, could this be from poor posture? or something more serious?!
Avatar f tn I have a sharp shooting pain go down my back when I bend my neck every morning when I first get up. It does not happen all day long, mainly after lying down.
Avatar f tn s a crick in my neck. The biggest thing is the ache and pain in my arms at night/lying down. I have not had any prior problems or trauma. This started in my right arm (I am right handed). It then stopped for a few months...but is now happening in both arms. It keeps me from sleeping because the pain is soooo intense! Any help would be greatly appreciated! BTW... I am a full time student and only work part time at the college.
1274207 tn?1277330512 This has been constant and not stopping nor changing degree of pain...not even when walking , sitting or lying down. It continues till I fall a sleep and starts back the moment I awake. 1 week ago my twin sister of 41 yrs. died suddenly due to a massive heart attack from 3 clogged arteries, but was at the er 3 times in 3 months and was never diagnosed with heart problems, this was concluded in the autopsy and that it was genetic and her siblings should be checked out.
Avatar n tn I have the exact same symtoms the pain is horrible and wakes me up goes away when I get out of bed and walk around. Have you found the problem yet?
Avatar f tn 1) this only occurs during the day 2) I usually wake with a stiff neck accompanied by pain in my neck, sometimes with a blinding headache, 3) I have a constant fuzzy sound, like white noise, going on in my ears (tinnitus?) 4) my hearing is often distorted, like listening through a distortion booster, 5) I hear pitches extremely flat. Please offer some advice. Thanks!
