Also had a dull pain in right flank. They ran a ct scan looking for appendicitis and found i had a large staghorn (sturvite) kidney stone.

1175033 tn?1492201228 Am I understanding it correctly, that your pain gets worse with certain movements of your neck? Do you have any history of neck pain or neck problems?
Avatar f tn I should be called "feellikegreatgrandpappy" I'm 62 going on 90! I started with the neck and back in my early thirties. Also had hashimoto's- and had half my thyroid removed, the other half must have removed itself because it's no longer there!
Avatar f tn The ER doctor said it was at the neck of the ureter and bladder and when my pain was gone, that it meant the stone had moved into the bladder. The pain subsided before leaving the hospital, however, I never found the stone in my urine and I have a continual bloated feeling and after urinating do not feel my bladder completely emptied. Could the kidney stone be lodged at the neck of the bladder and urethra?
Avatar f tn Have you had any fevers, painful urination, or blood in your urine? Perhaps you are suffering from a kidney infection or kidney stones. Is the pain sharp or dull? Does it come and go or is it constant? I would ask your doctor about doing an ultrasound, MRI or CT scan. Blood tests can be helpful in leading doctors down the right road to a diagnosis, but many times they are useless and other tests need to be done.
Avatar m tn I have pain from my neck to the bottom of my stomach. mostly under my stomach though.
Avatar f tn They took blood and urine samples and diagnosed a kidney infection, despite the fact I had not had kidney pain - although some slight genital ache and need to urinate urgently. Prescribed 10 day Ciprofloxacin antibiotics which I finished. Mild ache in kidneys only started once I started taking the antibiotics. Doctor took another urine sample after I'd finished the course and told me the infection was gone.
Avatar m tn Just wondering if maybe some on my middle back pain may be a kidney stone. I never had one before but I hear the pain is like what I have. Thanks again.
Avatar n tn When I have a kidney stone, I get referred pain in my shoulder and radiating up my neck to behind my ear. I have passed kidney stones the same day or up to a few days after a CAT scan shows no stone, they do not always show. IV or IM Toradol helps with pain & inflammation of the Urinary tract and helps me pass a stuck stone.
Avatar f tn Along with infection comes swelling and irritation to the affected kidney. The pain you are feeling by your ribcage is your kidney. Going up into the neck area could just be referred pain, or pain from tensing up the past 2 days. Do you still have a fever? If not, you are on the road to recovery. If you are having severe nausea and unbearable pain, you may have a kidney stone? Kidney stone pain can bring the toughest of men down, they come in curled up in a fetal position.
Avatar n tn m still suffering from intense pain, however my doctor has never explained too well the effects of a duplex kidney or the cause of the pain that I am having. Can anyone explain to me the effects a duplex kidney can have and if the pain I'm having could be linked to that or something different?

Avatar m tn The next day I woke to a slightly reduced fever 101, but now have severe neck pain on both sides near the middle of my sternocleidomastoid muscle but slightly lateral and posterior. It is so bad I am unable to move my neck. My partner was also treated, however several days before. No sex was exchanged up to the writing of this statement. I am worried this is HIV related now as flu-like symptoms after Gonorrhea are dismal. Please let me know what to do.
Avatar f tn Hi, Going through the neck for the kidney dialysis is absolutely normal. The central vein in the neck (jugular vein) is used for inserting the catheter and there’s absolutely no risk at all to the heart. The patients who are suffering from kidney failure are usually anemic(have low hemoglobin) and thus since the oxygen carring capacity of the blood is decreased. They need additional oxygen from outside. That’s the reason the doctor has told to send him on oxygen. I hope that helps.
Avatar n tn In the back of my neck where the top of my neck meets the back of my head, I have a lingering pain. I also feel pain in he top of my pac and around my shoulderblades. I get tingling pains in my fingers and tensing feelings in my arms. I also feel pain in my forearms of tingling and tightening. The final place there is pain I worry about is above my ears on each side. The tingling pains in my hands are mostly at the tips or index finger. I can also feel it in my legs. What could this be?
Avatar f tn Hey Selma! Thank you as always!!!:) So being just almost 5months post-op is still too early to tell? And...given the "brick", which has likely slowed the healing process even further (as well as EDS making a slower healer) by not allowing my neck to heal as my neck has...almost cinched up to my ears to "gaurd" the pain...so I honestly can't even tell WHAT level of pain is what. I feel 2mo. post-op vs. 5mo. post-op.
Avatar f tn t really control my neck pain either. I will tell the pain doctor that I would like to go on oxcyontin, which I have used before for my neck. My urologist hasn't heard about fentanyl causing swelling to feet and legs. It has happened to me before on the patch but I didn't put the 2 together. I am not to concerned about doctors thinking i am an addict. I work in that hospital and everyone knows about my chronic pain.
Avatar n tn I have a mild Hyperparathyroidism; I've been getting occassional neck pain (side of neck) which seems to happen after taking large doses of VitD. Has anyone else experienced this; is it a sign of a possible tumor (Primary Hyperpara)?
Avatar f tn I have had a lot of pain in the left side of my neck and jaw, with a lump above my left side of collar bone. Pain started over 2weeks ago. But as i was waiting for my breast biopys results, doctor couldnt do anything but give me pain killers and wasnt that intrested in the lump. My breast biopys came back fine. So now i have to go back and doctor again to sort out the pain ive got. I had a ctscan in Febuary to find out how much damge ive got to my kidney due to kidney stone.
3986919 tn?1352125983 I started Copaxone about 3 weeks ago....was on it for 6 days. I felt HORRIBLE plus I had severe neck and upper back pain...I thought I overdid it...because I DID! ;) Called my MS specialist....he told me to go off of it for a few days and see if I felt better, If not, go get my neck checked out...since I have stenosis and compression there.... I never really felt that much better so I went to my Ortho-surgeon...
Avatar f tn Sometimes migraines can be caused by problems with nerves in the neck. You can try a chiropractor if you ever had a back or neck injury. Drink two glasses after taking a half hour walk four times a day to hydrate yourself. Drinking water after exercise helps the water be absorbed otherwise it goes straight through your system with little benefit. Large doses of vitamin C can reduce inflamation which can be associated with migraines.
