Avatar m tn Now last nite I was in SO MUCH PAIN(the EXTREME stress Ive been under could be causing the pain 2b worse)I really should have gone 2 the hospital. It was like some took a knife & was stabbing me in the inner ear & the pressure was EXCRUIATING, stemming from my inner ear, up 2(right side)my head & temple, around my eye socket, down, the whole side of my face, jaw, & throat.
Avatar m tn What I have is actually in the neck and jaw. the left side of my neck hurts toward the side (main muscle/tendon going down from the jaw to the shoulder, and under my jaw, from what I can tell is inside my jaw. there are ridges on my jaw towards my chin that hurt, and also the space in between my jaw hurts. Don't know if it is glandular or tmj related. odd stuff. Cannot see my doc until next Thursday. anything that I can do?
Avatar m tn The neck is something you don't want to ignore when it hurts as you described. I suggest you see a doctor and have x-rays or CT or MRI done before anything else. DO NOT have your neck adjusted by a chiropractor until you know the cause of the pain and stiffness. You could have several different things going on..menengitis, herniated disc, bulding disc, sprain or strain of the muscles...it is important you see a doctor as soon as you can. I wish you the best. Let us know whats going on...ok?

Avatar f tn I've recently been experiencing severe neck pain. Its unbearable to even sleep at night. Any suggestions on how to subdue the pain? It'd be greatly appreciated!
Avatar m tn A few days ago I yawned, and had this extreme pain in my upper neck, right below my chin. I have experienced this pain before, but not like this. After the yawn occurred, I experienced massive head pain. The pain did not stop, and has continued threw the week. And I also have experienced the neck pain every so often. But now, after over talking/volunteering, I'm experiencing the pain non stop, And my head hurts quite a lot. Also when I lay my head down I can feel a very hard beat in my head.
358304 tn?1409709492 s true anxiety can cause these, so can real problems. For years I had neck pain, and just assumed it was from my anxiety, but it wasn't, it was from deteriorating cervical discs. So there might be something going on that physical therapy or massage or chiropractic or acupuncture can help. Something else happening with me is my arms and shoulders starting hurting so badly I can't lift weights anymore, so I shifted to running more and aggravated an old meniscus injury.
212161 tn?1599427282 Yes, I have these problems, but it's all referred pain from my neck. How far do your rods go up? Problems in the Thoracic spine can cause these symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. If your neck MRI is clear then the pain could be referred to the neck due to spinal problems of the upper back, or it could be due to tight neck muscles, or due to stress and anxiety or due to clots in the carotid artery. Hence you can get a MRI of the upper back spine and a dopplar study of the carotids. Use a hard bed to sleep. Avoid a pillow.

Avatar m tn Has anyone seemed to find any correlation between the pain that comes along with Syringomylia (head/neck) and stress. Seems that I have noticed an onset of pain when I have been upset or tense for any reason...would this make sense? I can't really find anything that pinpoints it.
Avatar f tn I have been seeing a chiropractor for a little over a year - the relief I get from the adjustment doesn't last long, only a few days. I've also tried massage, but can only do that when I can afford it. I do think that massage would be VERY helpful if I could get one at least once a month. I carry most, if not all, of my stress in my neck and shoulders so I'm always full of knots.... Thank you all for your input!!
Avatar f tn I have had 4 neck surgeries, I have degenerate discs disease. I was just diagnosed with Chiari a few months ago after having more continuous headaches, migraines, dizziness, and blurred vision. What type of neck pain are you having,? Do you see a pain specialist? Most MD’s don’t handle pain management. Especially with the opioid issues here in the US. If you are here in the US, you need to see a neurologist or neurosurgeon and possibly a pain management dr.
Avatar f tn The body tenses up and can cause pain just about anywhere. I think neck and back pain are two of the most common. If we could relax, we wouldn't be anxious. It's a cycle that's hard to break without help from your doc. Perhaps a mild muscle relaxant would help, while you are treating the anxiety itself. Sometimes we have to treat the symptoms in order to lessen our worrying.

Avatar f tn More than likley they are stress related or from many other things and i say this from personal experience tbh... Having some phyiso will certainly help for sure or of course going to a doctor as well As for testing, HIV certianly not your negative that im 100% sure about, if you havnt then testing for std's would be recommended.
Avatar f tn I've decided that too much stress and pain in my neck and arm is what's keeping me up all night. I did sleep last night, but here it is past 2am and I'm still up and thinking how I have to work by 9am. So, instead of going to bed I'll just watch a movie and take a shower. Got to sleep sometime, right?
1691343 tn?1306010449 I am 4mo post op of decompression and it seems as though every time i get stress or find myself doing to much i get bad spasms from my shoulders up to the neck area!
5612392 tn?1370919061 that can make you feel dizzy, headaches, exacerbates any pain problems and makes you feel tired and moody. You also say that you suffer from stress and anxiety. Dizzy turns can also be from neck problems and ear and other upper respiratory infections. So it is worth getting checked for that. Inner ear infections can cause dizziness. The other consideration, once you get the other things eliminated, is having a blood test to check your hormone levels.
Avatar m tn Hi khoatic, I promise not to freak you out. After reading your comments, I'm more inclined to think this neck pain is a combination of your running around and lifting things at work between 20 -25 hours and sitting at your computer for endless hours. You say you spend an average of about 40 hours a week " doing it". By doing it, do you mean sitting typing on the computer.
