Avatar f tn I had 3 visits and was given some exercises to try at home. To be honest, I have not been regular with doing the exercises, therefore I am still in pain. I have an appointment with my primary dr tomorrow and I'm not sure if I should ask again for the referal to rheumatology... any suggestions??
Avatar f tn Thank you so much EdwardPB. Can you recommend at home no equipment exercises to strengthen my neck and shoulders?
Avatar f tn Just seeing quite an increase in facial tingling not pain though. And neck burning. What sort of neck exercises Selma? I do work at a computer all day so neck pain is higher during work week. Less when I am up walking more. Just started thinking more about cci. My ns was touted as a Chiari expert but I am finding she doesn't look for anything else. So when my results came in she said Chiari looks good and minor bulging disk in c3/4 but that would not cause facial tingling.
Avatar n tn ve seen the DO 4 times, seen a dentist for possible TMJ, seen an ENT (nothing wrong in my throat after looking inside), seen a neurologist (nothing neurological, he sid ) about my neck pain for 9-10 weeks. the pain subsides a bit when i am standing up and i feel the front of my neck tightening when i am sitting down. i have asked over and over but got no answer if there is some muscle pulling somewhere that's straining my neck when i sit down?
Avatar f tn Is there any good recommendations on how to workout at home and the sort of things you can do for free even when your unfit ?
Avatar m tn Hi, I have a neck problem too. I have neck pain just by sitting and tingling and numbness in my right arm. Anyways, I found this book on how to treat your back and neck by Robin McKenzie. It gives you exercises you can do. I started doing them my condition improved a lot. I still have problems but getting better. You should give it a try.
Avatar f tn My pt can move my neck fairly easy while I am laying down and I can move in the morning- by late afternoon I can move it but have pain. I think they did not push the neck exercises while in the hospital because I was in intensive care longer and had a set back once in a room- I was throwing up and not aware of my surroundings but in a lot of pain. I was only on Tramadol for pain and for some reason the nausea medicine was not working for a few days.
2118452 tn?1340976428 m 7 weeks post-op today and still have some pain in my head and neck. It took about 5 weeks to start feeling better at all - and that was after I saw my doctor and he switched my medications. I was on dilaudid & percocet (rotate) and he gave me vicodin and valium instead. The difference has been tremendous. I know it is is rough! I also have 3 kids - all natural, no meds. And 2 previous back surgeries.
Avatar f tn SO glad u r home....in keeping pain at bay at this point u need to take pain meds on a schedule in order to keep ahead of it ...do not wait until u r in pain to take meds....or it gets away from u. and rest, rest and rest some more ....do not be tempted to do things as it can cause set backs. ANd do add all ur updates to ur journal as u can add to it on a daily or weekly basis and it is a great record for u, as well as others to see how u r doing post op.
Avatar f tn NS said he didn't find anything unexpected, and I don't think he was looking for anything in particular. He was also surprised at how quickly I noticed improvement in my breathing. I tire easily and my head/neck hurt constantly, but it's great to be at home! At least at home I can manage my own pain meds -- I didn't have a pump, so had to beg for meds all the time when pain got bad...then had to WAIT for pharmacy to send up my flexeril. So lame!
785584 tn?1273249232 my NS sent me back to physical therapy for six weeks to work on my neck muscles. she believes that is causing alot of my pain. i disagree. i know that i have weaker neck muscles as a result of the surgery but - they arent that bad to cause the pain and symptoms i continue to have. i have an appt at Johns Hopkins on the 11th (ironic, i know) for a second opinion. my procedure was done under different circumstances than many others. i couldn't "doctor shop" for the best.
5154898 tn?1374773319 ve been having some upper back pain, along with terrible neck pains at night, like my neck is going to fall off, I also get headaches about every other day!! I know that I am a terrible sloucher, could this be from poor posture? or something more serious?!
Avatar n tn Hi selmaS, I was walking about 2 miles daily, i did bend a couple of times and did try some neck exercises at home (maybe i stretched too much beyound pain limits in all directions. Also what changed was that i started lying on my back (before 6 weeks this was impossible for me, as my neck muscles behind the incision would hurt). What i also noticed is that if i press on the left side of the incision line i would trigger a shooting pain behind my eyes.
Avatar n tn There is a certain type of PT that many benefit from with neck and back pain - but costly if you dont have insurance. People with blown out discs even see good results so its worth looking into. Regular PT is not that great. The neck and back machine that works like no other is called Med -X. Goggle it. These machines are patented so no other brand will do what these do. Maybe contact the company to find out what PT clinic close to you has this particular machine.
