Avatar f tn Over the counter pain relievers could help with the pain. But if this persists, it would be best to see your doctor for proper evaluation and management. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Do you have any suggestions for what I might be able to do on my own to bring some relief to the neck stiffness/pain and severe headaches that it causes until I get back to the USA again in 1-2 years?! Thanks!
Avatar f tn He said that he got t-boned which means a car a car hit him in the side and the impact jerked his neck he said it felt like an electric jolt in his neck like a tingling sensation. He also experiences tinnitus. Could this be cerebral spinal leakage? No medicines the doctors have given him helps. He has even had sleep studies and yes he has apnea, but the nasal secretions are so bad when he puts it on and tries to wear it, he has to take it off.
Avatar f tn He will go exactly 3 days in severe pain in his head even with nausea and vomiting, nasal drippings, and tinnitus. The doctors have put him on every migraine medicine they can think of. He is at his wits end about it. He had this headache all weekend from Friday through Sunday. Got up feeling ok this morning, but just weak from the sickness. I will have to tell him about some of those test.
Avatar m tn i am a 34 yr old male that has severe headaches that can last for a week at a time. the pain generally comes from the back of my neck, and it gets sore and sensitive behind my right ear. i can get light sensitive but not always and can get sick. no tylenol, ibuprofen or any other otc meds seem to help, i cant sleep because they hurt so bad, and i can get little relief with sleeping with a heating pad under my head.
Avatar f tn Xrays were normal, MRI of neck show slipped disc and spinal cord slightly rotated. I got Facet shots, which made the neck pain go away but nothing will help the headaches. The headaches start at the base of skull and work up to top of head they feel deep. Most times it is so deep it feels like a worm tying to dig out of my head. Light nor sounds bother me when I do have the headaches sneezing, bending over, and coughing make it worse.
Avatar m tn See a TMJ specialist and have your bite evaluated. Botox has been known to help headaches and has been approved for head and neck pain. See an osteopath to have your neck and posture evaluated. Hope this helps you.
Avatar n tn My comes from C2 and my doctor is recommending a C2 RF nerve block to severe the nerve and stop the pain. My headaches are so severe that they make me vomit. The procedure is supposed to bring relief but is also temporary as the nerver will eventually regenerate itself. It can bring from 6 months to 2 years of relief with an average of 9 months. I have found that wearing a soft cervical collar to hold up my neck brings some relief.

Avatar n tn u seen ur gp it sounds like trapped nerve in neck i get occipital headaches which can be shooting or just severe pain radiating over base of neck over to top of head hope this is off some use
Avatar f tn It could be a migraine headache since you are sensitive to light and sound, although migraine headaches are less likely to involve neck pain. My migraine headaches involve neck pain and I know a few other people on the forum whose migraines involve neck pain, but that is not as common. So, since it does not exactly fit the pattern of migraine, I'd go see a doctor.

Avatar f tn Another thing is back or neck problems. I have been seeing a chiropractor for the past 3 months and my headaches have been decreasing by almost 80 percent! The minute I stopped seeing him my back upper back neck and shoulders siezed up and I was suffering severely from headaches again. He did x Rays on my spine and I have curvature on my upper spine by my neck from a terrible car accident when I was about 18. I hope I can help a bit as I know there is nothing worse than severe headaches!

Avatar f tn Xrays were normal, MRI of neck show slipped disc and spinal cord slightly rotated. I got Facet shots, which made the neck pain go away but nothing will help the headaches. The headaches start as tension at the base of skull and work up to top of head and they feel deep. Most times it is so deep it feels like a worm tying to dig out of my head. Light nor sounds bother me when I do have the headaches sneezing, bending over, laughing, and coughing make it worse.
Avatar n tn precipitation of head pain by neck movement or awkward neck positions, head pain when external pressure is applied to the neck or occipital region, restricted range of motion of the neck, and neck, shoulder and arm pain. Treatment for cervicogenic headache includes physical therapy, medications, behavioral therapy, and other modalities. Occipital neuralgia is caused by irritation or injury to two nerves that run from the upper neck to the back of the head.
Avatar f tn t have a set time, or there is nothing in particular that triggers the pain. I just feel it throughout the day, some times more severe than others. My neck tenses a lot, and the back of the head feels like a knot. I do feel some severe throbbing on both of my temporal lobes now and then but this doesn't happen all day long. What scares me is that the back of my head hurts horrible, I feel it right on the cerebellum stop. I got a doctor's order to see a neurologist and an endocrinologist.
Avatar n tn This gave me a fit for a couple of years. The first year I experienced neck pain and severe headaches to the point my doctor thought I had some nerve damage. They put me in the hospital ran all sort of test, gave me several types of pain medicine ever 4 hours for 24 hours. Then they release me with a ton of prescription to fill. The neorolgist said there were no pinched nerve at that time.
