Avatar n tn Has your doctor mentioned anything about arthritis in your neck or other areas of your C-spine or L-spine? I have arthritis in my neck and it causes headaches and pain in the neck to the middle of my back. This condition can also affect the arms/hands/legs with tingling, numbness, etc.... I just found out that I have it about a month ago. Good luck.
Avatar f tn We moved, and as we were house hunting, just turning my head back and forth as we drove through neighborhoods totally wore out my neck. I do carry my stress in my neck, and shoulders, and life has been very stressful since surgery. I still get headaches, more like tension migraines--still better than Chiari headaches--but I'm at a loss. Exercising my neck exacerbates the issue obviously, but I've been unable to get past this.
Avatar m tn Sounds like you got some knots in your upper back and theyre putting pressure on a nerve which is creating pain and headaches. Go to a chiropractor who practices muscle release techniques. Also the fact that you have anxiety also could mean that You carry a lot of tension in your shoulder which can cause your muscles to stiffen up ang get all knotted.
1411420 tn?1281630304 How often do you take it? How often do you get headaches? Migraines and neck/upper back muscles are connected. Tight neck and back muscles can contribute to headache and vice versa. Try getting a good massage of your back and around your shoulder blades and see if it helps. Also, if you take Excedrin or another analgesic too frequently, it can CAUSE a headache (rebound). Migraine can cause the pressure feelings too.
Avatar f tn So finally got in touch with my NS office and the assistant called me back -- my pressure type headaches are muscle tension headaches from the muscles spasming in my neck post-surgery. He said that even if I can't feel the spasms, they are still healing and so are tied up in knots pinching on things. I tried the muscle relaxer and that actually helped my headache better than the pain meds! Still get weird crawling sensation in my head, probably from the same thing.

Avatar f tn Hi, I Have had a very long history of migraine and terrible headaches all of my life then the pain at the back of my neck started and I went through an odyssey of doctors and heard everything from “you don’t have anything wrong with you-to go home in the waiting room are real patients”. In the end I at last by pure chance found a neurosurgeon that took me seriously and treated me as a real person.
Avatar f tn I would try the Tylenol and maybe a heating pad for your neck and headaches. I also see a chiropractor and simply by getting adjustments I have less headaches, back, and neck pain myself without having to take so many pills. It really does help a lot.
Avatar n tn When i rest in a tub with my head on the back of the tub and my body straight in the warm water as if i was lying straight with neck in water my neck twitches and cracks on its own i barely feel the pt when she rubs my neck in that area, the pt has helped with the rotation and lower neck muslces but me and her both feel no difference up above. My my thought maybe to get a ct to make sure nothing was in there pushin on that but i think a mri would have shown anything.
Avatar m tn Hi...sorry u r having issues....yes, I did have a stiff neck and using heat and then doing the neck exercises help with this.....I had a very pliable wrap that goes in the microwave that I could wrap around my neck and no more then 15 mins then I would do the exercises my Dr gave me, then 15 more mins of heat....this helps the muscles from getting tight which can cause HA's.
Avatar f tn Avoid a pillow. Roll a towel and place it under your neck while sleeping on the back and between head and shoulder when lying on the side. Initially this will be uncomfortable but with time the acupressure will work. Use an analgesic cream or spray. Anti-inflammatory drugs help. Also, you must improve your posture while sitting and working. Please discuss these options with your treating doctor. Take care!

511034 tn?1327802985 I generally suffer from stiff neck and shoulder muscles and tension in the muscles in my temples and jaw. I can quite literally feel these sore muscles tensed. In addition, these problems have been coupled with problems in reading comprehension and memory/recall, especially when the stiffness/soreness flares up. When these problems first started, I tried both getting help from both my primary care phy. and a neurologist specialist. After a CT scan, EEG, and blood tests, nothing has turned up.

If the previous medication and management are not helping, further evaluation and referral to a neurologist may also help. Complementary and alternative medicine including acupuncture and biofeedback therapy may also provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.

Avatar f tn Honey, don't worry about dying like your grandmother... Do you play any sports? Have you ever had a concussion? It could also be stress...and sometimes people just have chronic migraines...try an ice pack on your neck when you have a migraine, and get out of the light... You may have spasms and "knots" in your neck muscles that are causing migraines... if they get worse you may need to go to the doc for prescription meds to help...
Avatar f tn I have something wrong with my muscles in my neck and shoulders I used to get shots of botox in my muscles and take lots of pain pills and muscle relaxes. You are allowed to take vicodin while pregnant just a low dose. Honestly you have natural relaxers that go off in your body during pregnancy. They help some but you will have to suffer a bit ... I've just learned things to help like never over doing it and always resting after doing something for a while and icying that helps.
