I had a face & neck lift 3.5 years ago and I am still experiencing swollen jaw area & tingling sensations in my cheek areas. Sometimes I feel like I am going to choke the chin/neck area is so tight. I exercise, massage, hot/cold compress, etc but nothing is relieving the swollen areas. Any ideas?
Two years ago I had a lower face lift and since then I have had pain in my neck under my chin, between the surgical incisions in front of and behind both ears. The pain is more sever when I get hot and my neck feels like it is burning up. When I touch the skin, it feels fingers are cutting the skin.
My surgeon said he had never had anyone have this problem before.... that was not very comforting.
He put me on neurontin and recently gave me a cream of benzecaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine.
2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times.
I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.
I would like to do a forehead lift surgery. But I haven't heard much about it. Does anyone have any experience?

One month ago I had a neck and half face lift. I am now have a large under the skin scar tissue development next to my mouth, it is preventing me from opening my mouth, I can not even eat a banana, floss my teeth,etc. My doctor said to massage the area, and come in the office for ultra sound treatments to help dissolve the scar tissue, several days later there is more scar tissue devloping in other areas. what is your take on this and what is your recomendation?
I had a lower face and neck lift 4 weeks ago. I have weakness on the lower left bottom lip. The right side pulls down further when I form certain sounds. My smile is somewhat asymmetrical and I keep biting my lower left inside lip when I eat because my mouth won't move away from my teeth on its own. I have complete feeling around my mouth and my face looks normal until I start to talk then the left side of my lower mouth doesn't move in sync with my right side.
I have heard of a facelift where the face is pulled back by something like barbed wire, id like a little more info on it please & the recovery time.
In Nov. 08 I had a mid face lift surgery and have had facial pain and continued numbness on the left side of my face and upper lip. I have even experienced a lot of tooth pain & my dentist can't find a problem with the teeth. I'm afraid I have permanent nerve damage and most days, there is an extreme amount of pain. I have taken so much ibuprofen and tylenol, I have developed gastritis. Is there any help for nerve damage related to a mid face lift.
Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.
I had a facelift 9 1/2 months ago. The tightness, pressure and tingling in my cheeks is getting stronger. I feel it constantly. I can't focus on anything else. Feels like I'm wearing a mask. A nightmare. Will this eventually go away or do I need additional medical help?
I had facelift surgery 2 weeks ago and have spent the morning crying. My face is still all blue from ear to ear around the sides and bottom of my face. I look as though I need to shave. Is this normal. I am very numb and feel as the the bruising will never improve. Will I ever be me again?
It has been six months since my facelift and one side of my face is still tingling, numbness and has pressure points that hurt. I am always aware of it and find it to be something that I cannot ignore. My doctor said I had alot of bleeding during surgery and if fine with just letting time take it's course. I want more information on what is going on and the long term prognosis and if there is something I can do to alleviate the discomfort. Should I see a neurologist?

I had extreme discomfort generating from under the chin radiating to the ears shortly afterwards and returned to my surgeon for many visits trying various medications, etc with no relieft. Things seemed to calm down somewhat but the extreme tightness continued but I learned to live with it.
Hello: I recently had an ECG for pre-surgical tests before a facelift. The results showed "normal sinus rhythm, rate 74," "left anterior fascicular block", "early transition" and the comment : "consider left atrial enlargement." My PCP said the block was "insignificant." I had a treadmill test about a year ago after I complained of some pain (not severe) in my left neck area and left arm and palpitations.
I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
Six months after a facelift I started experiencing pain. I just got a catscan and dont have the results but I found if I put something tight around the head at the forehead that helps and when I put a facelift stretchy head piece on, which is also tight around the neck, ( it is open around the face only and the back of the head) I hardly feel the pressure and can work and function. Maybe this will help someone else.
I had a facelift a little over 2 years ago and although it has improved, I am still living with nerve damage on the right side of my face. When I close my eyes the right corner of my mouth pulls up. Also, the right side of my upper lip and nose has little movement. Is there any treatment available to help repair this. My plastic surgeon has been of little to no help.
