Neck lift under chin

Common Questions and Answers about Neck lift under chin

I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw. As a result my PS recommended neck lift to correct it. Anyway so far I'm two weeks into the healing process and I'm very concerned about my lower lip being paralyzed.
The trapezius is a major neck muscle that holds the head upright. Trapezius lifts or shoulder shrugs with handheld weights are designed to work your trapezius. Trapezius lifts tone and strengthen the muscles. Start by standing tall with your feet shoulder-width apart, arms at your side. Hold dumbbells with your palms facing forward and raise your shoulders toward the ears. Hold the lift for one or two seconds and then release. Do three sets of 15 repetitions each.

I had a neck lift surgery 6weeks ago and the area under my chin and further down is hard and very painful the glands are swollen, and if I try to turn right or left a very strong burning pain goes down to my throat and then back of the neck all the way to my left shoulder and pain in t he shoulder blades. I am very fightened and stressed as the surgeon said that it is impossible nd maybe I am just abit tight and maybe some predisolone would help.
I had a lower face and neck lift 3 weeks ago. Under my chin is very 'tight' and 'hard', and a little 'dimpply'. My PS told me that this is scar tissue, and that I should massage it, it will go away in time. Any suggestions as to anything else to do? What is the 'average' healing time for these types of 'scar tissue' in a healthy 55 year old. I am very happy with my results, except for my under my chin, and it concerns me! The rest of my face and neck looks awesome.
About a week after my bandages came off I developed on the left side under my chin towards the top of my neck. My surgeon at first said it was pooling blood and would eventually dissipate. Later he said this was a salivary gland. It had not been there before though he thought it may have been hidden under fat and loose skin. Several days after my bandages came off I had a sneezing fit due to allergies and felt as though something 'popped' at the time.
I mentioned this to my surgeon who said he could not think why this was, but I have noted other comments similar on the web. My neck and under chin is still very stiff and the left side of my face still swollen although the situation is getting better. However the loss of bottom teeth is really worrying me. My speech is also affected, finding it difficult to say certain words although this too is not as bad as it was. Any help appreciated.
2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times. I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.
now that lump is just about gone but my cheek is and the soft tissue on the inside of your mouth leading from teeth into jaw and up to inside of cheek. is in horrible pain and swelling too.. and down to under my chin towards my neck/throat and when i try to swallow it hurts and it feels like a lump or something under my chin and all that soft tissuey stuff under the tongue is starting to get sore as well. but no tongue pain. and its also spread up towards my ear.
it more feels like a burning sensation when i touch it. my chin is extremely numb..the numbest part is right under my bottom lip on my chin in one patch. this ***** so bad. im taking vitamin b6 pills crushed up and also cant eat real solid foodds bc of the tongue issue. this is seriously depressing. your improvement gives me hope! maybe i should try the vitamin b liquid too? lol im taking pills..but i dunno what the difference would be. i havent found anyone who has my symptoms around here..
after tryin to lift something i strained my neck and ever since then my symptoms have been slowly increasing: fatigue, elevated pulse, discomfort in throat area.(i remember right after lifting, the muscles under my jaw felt num) my mom has hyperthyroidsim. but i have doubts since the straining wasnt anything too serious, i just tilted my head backwards while pushing my chest forwards.
It goes from directly under my chin to where my lower jaw attaches to the front of my neck. Very tender and it gives me the creeps to massage it. This discussion is related to lower facelift problems.
Depending on how intense the episode was, it can take anywhere from 5-10 seconds for the pain to subside and disappear completely. The pain happens when I lift my arm into certain positions (i.e., overhead presses especially when my arm lifts next to my head or behind my head). I am no longer able to put a bar behind my neck and grip it from behind. The motion of bringing my arm up and back to grasp the bar is excrutiating.

I recently felt what feels like a lump under my sternum, it feels like its connected to my sternum and only way i even relized he was there was because i was feeling around my stomach area one day. It really doesnt bother me but lately ive been noticing it more and more. I dunno if its all in my head just because i found it. I had A J lilft procedure feburary 2008. the j lift is a neck lift. I always feel like there is a band going from one ear to the next ear under my throat choaking me. I have numbness pretty severe along side my ears. I have pain, aching, and feels like pins pricking me along the lower part of my face. I have been to a neurologist who has me on neurotonin and have been to two plastic surgeons to se why i feel like i feel like there is something chooking me.
You are like the only other person I have found that had what also happened to me. (Hence my med help name) I had a neck lift but it included to lipo in thr neck region.I did not need much as I had a good jaw line no jowls yet but just the beginnings of the 2 neck bands that my Dr said he could correct and made it sound simple. I got a neck seroma.
After my neck lift 18 months ago I had extreme tightness under my chin to the extent I felt like I could not swallow well for the first 3 weeks. This gradually subsided and after 3-4 months all was well except for a persistent slight tugging on the right side when turning my head. About 3 months ago I noticed the right sided tightness was getting more pronounced and I found myself unconsciously rubbing that area several times a day.
One month ago I had a neck and half face lift. I am now have a large under the skin scar tissue development next to my mouth, it is preventing me from opening my mouth, I can not even eat a banana, floss my teeth, etc. My doctor said to massage the area, and come in the office for ultra sound treatments to help dissolve the scar tissue, several days later there is more scar tissue devloping in other areas. what is your take on this and what is your recomendation?
Two months ago I needed a second surgery due to an unusual fold in my neck and some blisters and hard knots under the skin of my neck. Since that surgery I have been getting steroid injections into the hard knots/scars. I now have a depressed pocket, the size of a penny and several rock hard knots under the neck skin. I also have two medium-sized bulges at the bottom of my neck that seem to be filled with fluid.
They are on both sides of the neck and under my chin as well. Nothing else was found in CTs of abdomen and groin. I have a biopsy scheduled for next month, but have read myself into anxiety attacks. I have read that anything above 1 CM is abnormal. I have no pain in the nodes themselves but have developed pain in the neck which seems like a stiff neck, and pain exists with any pressure from straining or lifting, also movement related pain in neck, chest and spine in the same region.
I've never had regular periods, but they altogether stopped 2 years ago. I have a bit of under the chin facial hair. I didn't see doctor at all. For past 2 months I've had puzzling symptoms . !st was chest pains--normal chest x-ray Only abnormality in blood work is elevated testosterone .. The doctors say I have stress disorder because of a whole list of symptoms similar to stress...but would I also have vision problems now? or tremors? tingling in fingers and feet..
Mine is at the top of my neck and right in the groove under the base of my skull. I also have a heavy feeling in my head and dizziness. Actually, I am having close to 10 dizzy spells a day. Hopefully, going to the doctor soon. My insurance is pulling out of my state and dropping me, so I don't want to see one just yet. I don't want a "preexsisting" condition not being covered. Glad to see some other people have this.
I also get occasional pain in the back of the neck. I get a lot of inflamation now...under my right arm...my neck...my cheek even down to my entrie right side inflamation increases depending on what I eat. I am currently taking Omega 3 supplements, magnesium, and vit B and am feeling better w/the inflamation subsiding. I have had such a long road..with this pain...living with it. I've had tried many RX and couldn't handle the stuff....the Omega's are really working well....
I also sleep on my right side with my arm up under my pillow to cradle my neck as i have severe neck arthritis from a car accident 6 or 7 years ago. i don't know if that is a factor in my numbness. i also notice that it goes numb more often on the days i do wear my bra. i would appreciate any advice or if you also have had a numb mid back, any suggestions.
Since then I am having trouble with pain in the neck and shoulder area just below the fusion area. I wake in the morning with a headache then turns to pain in lower neck and shoulders. I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back.

The skin under my chin has to over stretch too when I lift my head. I always feels a need to sink my head into my shoulders for relief. What specialist could best address this? I have been to neurologists and they only look at my spine. Thank you for any advice. I am just desperate.
