Avatar m tn Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.
568174 tn?1217557505 It took a year for me, then I started gentle weight training to improve my neck muscles to help strengthen my neck. This was a success for me. I hope you have a speedy recovery and in the meantime just take care as it is early days!
Avatar m tn Most likely your symptoms may arises after some time due to nerve irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because of injury/prolapse where contact between the edges of the vertebrae can cause neck pain. In few people, this pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head, shoulders, arms or chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) that you felt. Other symptoms are like neck pain and stiffness can be intermittent.
Avatar f tn A bit like someone put a tight elastic band about where the thyroid is. i have a tendancy to stoop forward but this causes tension in the back of my neck and down my shoulders which is why i guess i'm getting headaches. I try to stretch my neck back to relieve the tight feeling in my throat. Is this all normal and how long can i expect the tightness for. I'm told i will be back at work in around 4 weeks. Does that sound about right?
Avatar n tn Due to the usual reasons for sagging skin - aging, chronic dieting and genetics, I am considering a buttocks lift. I am worried that I may be bringing unforeseen medical/health problems into this relatively late stage of my life from what seems a pretty radical surgery which also leaves inch wide scars that run along the backside. How much pain and suffering is there? How long does it take to recover and resume a physically active life - vigorous daily exercise, jogging, sports, dancing, etc.
Avatar f tn What is the recovery time that you can go out after a mid face lift. Could you go to a wedding in 4 weeks or is that too soon to be seen??? U an considering it but wonder when you are cleared to go out in public afterward comfortable post op??
Avatar n tn I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
Avatar f tn Lie on your back and bend your knees. Place your hands behind your neck for support and lift your head, neck and upper shoulders off the mat or bed. If you have Diastasis Recti, a separation of the large muscles in your core, only lift your head while using your hands to support your stomach muscles. If you google the exercises you should be able to see videos.
1035252 tn?1427227833 I can schedule the surgery for a wednesday afternoon and have him home with me thursday, friday, saturday and sunday...am I going to need more than that? How long is the recovery? I have a good friend who is an army-trained field medic who has agreed to come daily or every-other-day to change the bandages, so I'll have good help as far as wound care goes, but I just need to know how longI can expect to be "down" and what sort of pain management they offer you for after the surgery.

Avatar m tn It has been 2 1/2 weeks since my heart attack and the doctor is telling me it is left up to me when I should and want to go back to work. I have a job that I lift more then 50 lbs and I do not want to have another heart attack. He says I have no restrictions that I could have another heart attack in my sleep just as well I could have one anywhere else. I do not know what to do? Please give me advice, do I need to get a second opinion?
Avatar f tn I am an law enforcement officer and the doctor said I could resume full unrestricted duty in a week. I have been doing research on the procedure and it seems the average recovery time is about two weeks but people are still not able to lift items or do strenuous activities. My concern is my equipment which weighs about 12lbs around my waist and my vest. I am also concerned about my ability to engage in physical activity if I have to defend myself.
Avatar m tn Pain at base of my neck and upper back. Some headaches coming from the back of my neck. A feeling of discomfort that feels like it's circulating between my shoulders/armpits and peeking in intensity at my shoulders/armpits. When lifting there is a pressure in my neck and if it's something heavy I often feel the pressure continue from my neck into my upper chest or back and a little out towards shoulders.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, having trouble with a broken neck and also wondering what comes next, finding it hard to find information online. Hoping anyone who's been through the same or anyone with some medical knowledge won't mind sharing with me. First let me get you up to date quickly. Big car crash, lucky to be alive, numerous broken bones, c1 vertebrae smashed to pieces, c2 broken. Its been about 4 1/4 months now, the other bones are healed, I've been out of my neck brace nearly a month.
Avatar f tn There is nothing you can do to speed up the recovery. If does not improve significantly in three or so month, anther scan is indicated. Dr. O.
Avatar f tn I had a lower face and neck lift 4 weeks ago. I have weakness on the lower left bottom lip. The right side pulls down further when I form certain sounds. My smile is somewhat asymmetrical and I keep biting my lower left inside lip when I eat because my mouth won't move away from my teeth on its own. I have complete feeling around my mouth and my face looks normal until I start to talk then the left side of my lower mouth doesn't move in sync with my right side.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a laporotomy recently (last week) and wondered if anyone had any useful info re recovery? I am off work for 4 weeks and have been told not to lift anything too heavy and not drive or exercise for 4-6 weeks but it all seems a bit vague. What does 'too heavy' mean? Can I lift a saucepan of water? A container of milk? Also, I love doing exercise and want to get back into it asap. I know I can't do anything for 4-6 weeks, but after that what can I do?
Avatar m tn The leg pain is probably not related to your neck from the M.R.I. You should have neck and arm or hand pain from the findings of the M.R.I. At such a young age and the fact that you starting a mild case of degenerative disc disease. I would ask for physical therapy to teach you how to exercise and lift properly. This very important for you at your age or you can develop a severe case of disc disease later on in life.
Avatar f tn I was crushed when my NS suggested I stop using one and at first it was AWFUL, but slowly my neck began to regain strength for itself and I can now not rely on a neck pillow, although I do prop it up at night when I am reading or so forth. Also, make sure to keep taking the muscle relaxers as you need them. This really helped me when my neck was feeling weak or shaky. They stop the muscle spasms from occurring.
1261034 tn?1269764574 I had anterior c5/c6 disectomy with fusion last week and was looking for some helpful tips on recovery. I still have a major sore neck/shoujders and my throat is extremely sore. I keep reading a lot of horror stories about the post op recovery with this surgery, but my surgeon tells me I will be back to work in 2 weeks. I dont feel like I will be ready in 2 weeks though.
Avatar f tn I am upwards of two weeks post op and am experiencing frontal headaches, fatigue, nausea, and extreme neck stiffness. I would just like to know if anyone has any recommendations as far as becoming more comfortable through my recovery. I am also curious to hear others' journeys with Chiari!
Avatar m tn I hurt my neck (around C6-8 I think) in Aug 2012, pain is always burning and sometimes can barely get head straight up. Been to ortho - not a bone issue, neurology denied referral, this is ongoing and the only relief is not to use arms etc. movement forward like playing cards or computer is worse. Fingers go numb when sleeping - have to get up a lot to move neck around to get ok. wake with headaches and severe neck pain.
