Common Questions and Answers about Neck lift operation

Avatar f tn 2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times. I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.
Avatar m tn Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.
Avatar f tn As for the amount of weight you can lift. I was told not to lift too much weight directly after the microdisectomy. But for the future: there should be NO limit on how much you can lift. As I said: i had the discectomy in 2003 and 12 months later i was back to working out and lifting weights. A discectomy is a simple non invasive procedure and there is no limits on how much weight you can lift years after having one.
Avatar n tn My Mum had a face lift over a year ago. About 9 months after the operation she was massaging her neck and felt a pain in the back of her neck. Since this time things have got worse for her. She had a crackling noise everytime she moves her head which can either be mild or quite bad depending on what she has been doing. She says it is particularly worse when she is looking up i.e hanging out the washing etc.
Avatar n tn I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
Avatar n tn m due to have it my thyroid removed approx 14th december i,m so scared of operation and on going meds for the rest of my life. hope it wont be a problem with my weight as i have a bad back and neck...
Avatar m tn You have a bulging disk at the c6/7 area (I'm not a doctor, I just have the same thing) the narrowing part I'm not completely sure of but depending on your age, weight, injuries, etc... they say a lot of people have bulging disks and don't even know it and cause no pain. Then there are others that do. I went and saw a NEUROSURGEON on my c4/c5 because it was fractured and he did surgery and fixed it.

Avatar f tn Hi, in June 2009 I had C5/C6 disc replacement, due to a bulging disc - problems occurring before the operation included spasms running up either side of my neck causing stiffness in my neck. After the operation I felt fine for a few days, then the symptoms returned only this time with pins and needles in my shoulders. Five months to the day I went back into hospital for C4/C5 discs to be removed (as this disc had slipped since the first operation).

Avatar m tn I has a spinal epidural on L4 about a month ago and the day after I got it, I noticed a weird cramping sensation in my right forearm. I shrugged it off as just being a sore or pulled muscle. The pain has continued and I have lost significant hand strength in my thumb and index fingers. I also can barley lift an empty cup from overhead on the shelf. It's like I have no strength to grip and lift. the object. The weakness is most present when my arm is extended or overhead.

Avatar f tn I had neck lift surgery in April of 2012. Ever since the back of the right side of my head feels like I have a metal plate that has been placed inside. My right side of head feels numb but at the same time I am in so much pain. Part of the pain goes deep into the center of the back of my head. The other part of the pain is at the lower part of the back of my head right at my neck. I get very little sleep due to not being able to lay on my back and having to sleep on my left side.

Avatar n tn In my understanding after operation he can consider about one year as a healing time. I did not have operation, but was recovering from my heart failure. 1 YEAR I needed to feel well and no pain or very occasional pain. He must be sure NOT lifting heavy things. When I had lift or was letting stress in my life, all turned out of some sort of pain. Those are the 2 mayor things he should watch for. Change all stress for love,(easier to say, but must try :)) and …do the heavy lifting for him!!
Avatar f tn However, I developed intermittent left shoulder and neck area tingling, numbness and spasms after 2.5 weeks, which is ongoing. It seems to occur most often when I move in a certain position but not always. I had back surgery about 15 years ago when a rupture was repaired between L4/L5. Some of the pain/discomfort is similar and I think I may have developed a bulge that is impinging on nerves in my neck area.
Avatar n tn I had a face & neck lift 3.5 years ago and I am still experiencing swollen jaw area & tingling sensations in my cheek areas. Sometimes I feel like I am going to choke the chin/neck area is so tight. I exercise, massage, hot/cold compress, etc but nothing is relieving the swollen areas. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn can not lift up my head only down intense spasm pain, can not turn left or right, aches when swallowing.
Avatar n tn I am going to have my disc removed, I can not sit for a long period of time, and job consits of sitting. I am hoping after the disc is removed I can go back to work. The pain comes and goes, but without my medicine it gets worse.(tramadol). I don't want to do the operation, but the older I get the worse it will get, I might as well do it now, while I am still a somewhat young age. Should I be worried about the operation??
Avatar f tn What do u mean it did go? Coz my understanding is that my "bladder" is verry low and after I give birth (about 7weeks) I must go for an operation to lift it?
Avatar f tn I woke up two days ago with a really sore neck, im literally unable to move my head around and when i get up i cant lift it up, im constantly staring at the floor, why
Avatar f tn sorry yes I do mean c6. it is definatly in my neck the surgeon thinks that the operation is the only answer. my symptoms were numbness in my index second finger and thumb. I had carpal tunnel syndrome years ago and had the operation, they thought it had gone again and this was the reason for nerve conservation tests which showed that it was not carpal tunnel I was then sent for an M..R.I.scan that showed these problems with the disc and trapped nerves.I also have fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn The reason I requested a scan was due to the severe neck pain I am getting on a regular basis. After seeing a surgeon for the 3rd time he has given me 3 options, 1. not to have an operation, 2. To book the appointment for the operation or 3. Take time to make my decision. I chose to take sometime to think about it. I would like some opinions on whether the operation would be beneficial to me and why I am getting such bad neck pain?
