neck lift consent

Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.

I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.

I had neck lift surgery in April of 2012. Ever since the back of the right side of my head feels like I have a metal plate that has been placed inside. My right side of head feels numb but at the same time I am in so much pain. Part of the pain goes deep into the center of the back of my head. The other part of the pain is at the lower part of the back of my head right at my neck. I get very little sleep due to not being able to lay on my back and having to sleep on my left side.

A few days ago my husband lifted somthing heavy and pulled a muscle in his chest ive took him to hospital and to see his own gp and he sed his hearts fine but he still has chest twinges and neck and back pain that will come and go an is really painfull can anybody help me with any advice please on what you thinks wrong or where the pains coming from as im worried tbh and am gratefull with any help I can get thankyou

You would of signed the consent before surgery at the place of surgery giving your doctor consent. If you don't remember what the consent exactly said you need to contact them for a copy. Stents are basically a given when you have kidney stones removed. If you didn't get one you would be in the ER in pain not being able to void.

What on earth is 'informed consent'? You may hear the term tossed about frequently and wonder what it means. Informed consent means your medical professional has filled you in on all the benefits AND the risks of a procedure and you have given your consent.

I had a face & neck lift 3.5 years ago and I am still experiencing swollen jaw area & tingling sensations in my cheek areas. Sometimes I feel like I am going to choke the chin/neck area is so tight. I exercise, massage, hot/cold compress, etc but nothing is relieving the swollen areas. Any ideas?

can not lift up my head only down intense spasm pain, can not turn left or right, aches when swallowing.

2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times. I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.

One month ago I had a neck and half face lift. I am now have a large under the skin scar tissue development next to my mouth, it is preventing me from opening my mouth, I can not even eat a banana, floss my teeth,etc. My doctor said to massage the area, and come in the office for ultra sound treatments to help dissolve the scar tissue, several days later there is more scar tissue devloping in other areas. what is your take on this and what is your recomendation?

Hi, Going through the neck for the kidney dialysis is absolutely normal. The central vein in the neck (jugular vein) is used for inserting the catheter and there’s absolutely no risk at all to the heart. The patients who are suffering from kidney failure are usually anemic(have low hemoglobin) and thus since the oxygen carring capacity of the blood is decreased. They need additional oxygen from outside. That’s the reason the doctor has told to send him on oxygen. I hope that helps.

Right now, he did not feel the pain, he can move his neck, also his arm strength back on. But, the problem is he still can not lift up his shoulder higher than ears. Doctor said he his should should back on normal after three weeks and he did improve a lot compare the first when we went to see doctor. Doctor wonder why he still can not lift up his shoulder. When i tried to lift up his shoulder, i can feel his shoulder is so heavy (he did not feel pain, just can not lift high).

I was told pregnant woman shouldn't lift their arms above their heads but then there are others that say we can... Has anyone else heard of this and what is your take on this matter?! Also, why can't we do this because I really don't understand why we can't?!

I suggest you ask to be referred to a specialist for a second opinion.

My doctors told me to lift my arms above head when short of breath. Said makes it easier to breath. I don't think doctors would tell me to do something that will hurt baby. So I think it's fine, just nothing real heavy.

re not exams that look in depth for medical problems, they just basically check your overall health condition, including vital signs, height/weight, sometimes vision screening, and if your job requires physical activity/lifting, they will sometimes check your ability to lift something the same weight you would be required to lift on the job, along with some range of motion/gait assessments.

I work at a grocery store as a cashier . I've been told that I shouldn't left heavy things because the cord can wrap around the baby's neck. I try not to lift up alot but most times I have no choice but too. Is there any way u can tell if the umbilical cord was to get wrapped around the baby's neck ?

d say every month or 2 for the past year I get extreme pain in my shoulder and upper arm when I try to lift it. This lasts for about a week or so then goes away. My upper arm goes numb when it's "hanging" during this time. I used to work in a nursing home where I had a lot of lifting without the use of hoyers. So I'm thinking maybe I damaged something and it acts up sometimes?
