Common Questions and Answers about Neck lift botox

Avatar m tn Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.
Avatar f tn s caused the migraines or if the Botox has caused the disc issues by paralyzingly some of my neck and shoulder muscles and Botox has put too much weight and strain on my bones and/or joints in the neck. I basically have these episodes every few months of severe pain in the joints in the neck, pain in the muscles in the neck and shoulders, extreme muscle tightness in neck and shoulders, some shooting pain in arms and some numbness. I am given a burst dose of steroids and pain meds.

Avatar f tn How great to hear from you! Yes, we seem to be the only 2 people on the planet using this patch. My prescribing doctor at a major medical center at a University said that he thought he was the only doctor prescribing it. And yes, I think that I am also getting better with time. I'm interested in where on your body do you get the Botox injections? You said that you don't get the facial ones and then mentioned the neck area.
Avatar f tn Oh boy..... am I going to take some *hit over this one but yes I have used Botox a few times for my forehead wrinkles but I wear bangs so not something I will do again ... and during one of my daughter's stints in rehab I had my eyes done. I did it because I was so tired of people saying "are you tired" " you look tired" "are you not sleeping?" Well no as a matter of fact my daughter is an oxy addict and I haven't slept in months!!
Avatar n tn I would tickle the skin and lightly massage and use all of my will to get it back and it did fully return thankfully. The second time was last year with a lower face lift with platysmal plication (the neck bands) and my left lower lip wouldn't move and made talking smiling eating etc wierd! So I fully understand your nervousness and anxiety over this complication.
768044 tn?1294223436 Hi! The other day I had an appointment with my neurologist and I asked him about botox injections for my migraines. I get 15+ migraines a month (usually around 17). My migraines interfere with every aspect of my life... so I am really looking for a treatment that works. I have heard good things about botox from friends... and so I would like to give it a try. I am currently taking topamax. Before topamax I tried valproic acid and before that I tried amitriptyline.
997898 tn?1303734864 my understanding is that it takes 30-40 injections about every 3 months for max effectivness for pain control. they give the injections in the neck, shoulder area and face. has anyone had these injections? is this accurate? who do you go to for the injections? i was refered to pain management, but do i really want this guy to be injecting botox into my face??? shouldn't a plastic surgeon do that? i have heard positive results from this treatment and want to try it...
Avatar f tn i had been doing Botox treatments for migraines for about 6months prior to surgery (surgery was Sept. 3rd) and my migraines had lessened with Botox. My question is...(and I will also bring this up to my NS at my next post-op f/u on Oct. 14th) Did anybody continue the Botix treatments after the surgery & if so, how long after the surgery did you resume the treatments. I'm next scheduled for it mid-November...but as of right now, parts of my scalp are still horribly painful.
Avatar m tn I had several areas in my neck treated by injecting Botox in areas that were causing excruciating pain because of a neck injury that was made worse whenever my muscles would begin tightening. The concept seemed to make sense and in fact worked quite well for my neck for about 6 months. Unfortunately, the side effects took hold of me the next morning with life threatening symptoms.
1194772 tn?1309578232 I have had these painful knots in my neck and in the trapezius area for a couple years but it just getting worse. I have tried everything to take the pain away from steroid injections, botox, PT, massage, acupuncture and muscle relaxants. Lately with all my worries about MS the stress is making the spasms worse. I don't know if this is any way related to my possible MS diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I had some on Saturday morning. In forehead (frown area) and in occipital area. It's 4 days later now and my neck is really quite painful. I have hyper mobility syndrome and am thinking was it a mistake to have it in my neck? It would be great if anyone else can share their experience.
681148 tn?1437661591 I just had my appointment with the neurologist. He is suggesting Botox to help with migraine prevention. He is looking into getting authorization for it first, like with the insurance and whatnot. Everything I've heard of using Botox is that this should at least reduce the severity of the migraines and reduce how often I get them. I would like some input from others who regularly get Botox shots. Also, has anyone here had a sleep study done?
1015777 tn?1251149540 I have suffered from Spasmodic Torticollis (now more commonly known as Dystonia) for some 30 add years with a myriad of pharmaceutical treatments----at least 30 individual/unique medications non-duplicating----and with Botox injections designed to slow the movements down. The condition is rare but many Parkinson's Patients have been rediagnosed with Spasmodic Torticollis as the movements are similiar.
Avatar f tn I did have botox and nothing really happened. When my dr. gave it to me in the back of my neck he actually gave me too much which caused my neck to weaken. It has wore out, thank goodness. I have been doing some much research of doctors and things that it could possibly be. I even read that my jaw could be out of alignment. But once again I thank you, any feedback is great.
Avatar f tn One of my last hopes was Botox injected into my permanent muscle spasms in my back and neck, which I had done last Friday. Since Friday, progressively my pain has gotten worse and worse, and it is at 10 times worse than it was. I'm basically curled up in a ball on my sofa waiting for it to feel better. I have no signs of allergic reaction, just very bad pain. Has anyone else received Botox injections for chronic muscle spasm issues and react similarly?
Avatar n tn I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
Avatar n tn I just read your 11/13 comment and I have only one thing to say about Botox in the neck...NEVER AGAIN! I had 4 injections and not only did I have the worst head and neck ache but landed in the hospital from severe dehydration from "going from both ends". I hope I never get that sick again. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that it helped but I wasn't one of them. I sure hope you are feeling better by now.
Avatar f tn I have cervical dystonia, my right fingers, the last 2 are stuck, and so is my neck, right side..my gp wants me to have botox, but i already have swallowing difficulties, and the injection can add to it..I am seeing a physiotherapist right now, is there any information I can give her to help me get my neck muscles moving again??? I really do not want the botox.. I am on xanax, baclofen, codine contin, for pain, and zoplicon for sleeping.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your information on Botox injections. I don't feel so good having had cervical dystonia with pains in my neck and shoulders and now the pains in my knees and ankles. As a result, my back especially around my hip region hurts too. I don't have these problems before my treatment session. I really don't know what's happening to me and I have to consume at least 8 paracetamol tablets per day to get some relief.
Avatar f tn t really feel any relief of hte shoulder/neck pain and stiffness from the botox. A few days after the injections I had a lot of numbness in my left hand and still have some intermittent surface tingling at one of the injection sites. After my TSH went from .9 to 3.4 in several months and the only real change was the botox I would be cautious about it. I will not have it again that is for sure - but I don't want to persuade you not to try something that may help your pain.
Avatar f tn I am seriously hoping it grows back after discontinuation. Even though my daughter noticed this on me in the last couple of months I dismissed her comment. I only noticed myself last night. I will certainly comment on what my follow up experience is into the future and hope it is good news to report. I am continuing on biotin and other supplements in the meantime and am so freaked out I would try a topical solution for regrowth.
Avatar f tn ...a possible risky thing with regards to getting infected with Hep? I've personally never done the Botox thing because I'd already been infected with Hep C and knew about it the Hep; when Botox became popular. It just didn't feel like something I felt comfortable with the idea of having someone inject me with a known toxin just to get rid of wrinkles. To me, in that instance, the risk was not worth losing a few wrinkles over.
Avatar f tn Hello, There are many methods of skin tightening like new methods using Lasers, Lights, and Radio Waves, chemical peels, face lift, botox injections or surgical face lift using plastic surgery. You have to consult a dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
