Common Questions and Answers about Neck lift alternatives

Avatar m tn Hi I just had a revision procedure that included neck lift to correct my platysma muscles. I originally had liposuction and a thread lift done to rejuvenate my lower part of my face. I didn't want anything invasive so opted for the thread lift with lipo under the chin and lightly underneath my jawline. After the healing was done it was obvious that the procedure did not obtain good results and exposed my platysma bands and had much indentations where the thread lift was placed under my jaw.
764201 tn?1245616265 He sent me to a chiropractor who said i have several rotated vertebrae in my neck and upper back. They suggest facet joint injections. I realize this is only a temporary solution to the pain and I am only 21 years old. Many people I've talked to through the hospital I work in do not think it is such a good idea because I am pretty young to be getting these injections...also, the chiropractic treatment i'm receiving is only seeming to make it worse...
Avatar m tn I suggest you ask to be referred to a specialist for a second opinion.
Avatar n tn I had a partial face lift and neck lift 2 years ago. I still feel extreme tension/tightness at the sides of my neck, near my cervical nodes. I cannot palpate any node enlargement. I am also experiencing increasing parasthesia of my lips to the point of difficulty enunciating words. I have no lip drooping, but I experience some saliva drooling while speaking. My surgeon merely suggests more surgery.
Avatar f tn I had neck lift surgery in April of 2012. Ever since the back of the right side of my head feels like I have a metal plate that has been placed inside. My right side of head feels numb but at the same time I am in so much pain. Part of the pain goes deep into the center of the back of my head. The other part of the pain is at the lower part of the back of my head right at my neck. I get very little sleep due to not being able to lay on my back and having to sleep on my left side.

Avatar f tn 2 years ago I had a neck lift, with lipo under the chin and my upper and lower eyes done. I have had constant and often debilitating pain since the surgery. Burning like Chinese burns, no feeling to the sides of the face, tightness that is overwheelming. Slight swelling along the jawline RHS that is worse at different times. I've had blood tests, xrays, ultrasound, second opinions from other plastics surgeons and doctors.
Avatar m tn My wife has had the above condition for several years. Sudden pain from top of neck which travels almost to back of her head. Until recently, these episodes have ended almost immediately and the pain went away. The episodes occur about twice/three times per month.... always during the morning - before noon. Very recently, the attacks have become worse whereby she has to lie down and take a pain killer (GP advice).

Avatar n tn One month ago I had a neck and half face lift. I am now have a large under the skin scar tissue development next to my mouth, it is preventing me from opening my mouth, I can not even eat a banana, floss my teeth, etc. My doctor said to massage the area, and come in the office for ultra sound treatments to help dissolve the scar tissue, several days later there is more scar tissue devloping in other areas. what is your take on this and what is your recomendation?
Avatar f tn I used to have the very same issues you are describing...and I mean for years.....in one shoulder in particular. Granted....we all "wear" or carry our stress in different parts of our bodies.....for me....neck and shoulders BIG time. In fact, my lack of "range of motion" with my right arm and the subsequent pain in that shoulder and in the thoracic levels in my back were what got me started on Lortabs. Fast forward quite a few years...
Avatar n tn Right now, he did not feel the pain, he can move his neck, also his arm strength back on. But, the problem is he still can not lift up his shoulder higher than ears. Doctor said he his should should back on normal after three weeks and he did improve a lot compare the first when we went to see doctor. Doctor wonder why he still can not lift up his shoulder. When i tried to lift up his shoulder, i can feel his shoulder is so heavy (he did not feel pain, just can not lift high).
Avatar f tn What did you do to your neck? Many times surgery of the neck and back can cause more problems then they cure. Also be aware of Chiropractors. Some, not all, want nothing more then you to have treatment that will do nothing more then take your money and do more damage then when you went in. I would see a good neurosurgen to discuss various helpful options.
Avatar f tn I took Vicoprofen one time for my sinus lift and it actually made my back pain go away. Now I am having extreme back pain. I just want to take one maybe once a week 7.5/200. But after reading all these post i am nervous about getting addicted. So i just want to take one only when the pain is unbearable. Can I do this without becoming addicted?
7754577 tn?1397304688 I was told pregnant woman shouldn't lift their arms above their heads but then there are others that say we can... Has anyone else heard of this and what is your take on this matter?! Also, why can't we do this because I really don't understand why we can't?!
Avatar f tn I've lived with the pain of spondolysis, and neck problems for the past few years as well as do alot of lifting, try not to, but..have two five year old boys and a 9 month old girl.soo..even though the med is working...and you don't think you need an upage, could it be that the level of pain is to the point that its not working and that is causing the yelling and all? I get that way when my pain is unbearable, but the meds I'm on either makes me sick to my stoache to way to tired.
Avatar f tn My doctors told me to lift my arms above head when short of breath. Said makes it easier to breath. I don't think doctors would tell me to do something that will hurt baby. So I think it's fine, just nothing real heavy.
Avatar f tn I work at a grocery store as a cashier . I've been told that I shouldn't left heavy things because the cord can wrap around the baby's neck. I try not to lift up alot but most times I have no choice but too. Is there any way u can tell if the umbilical cord was to get wrapped around the baby's neck ?
Avatar f tn d say every month or 2 for the past year I get extreme pain in my shoulder and upper arm when I try to lift it. This lasts for about a week or so then goes away. My upper arm goes numb when it's "hanging" during this time. I used to work in a nursing home where I had a lot of lifting without the use of hoyers. So I'm thinking maybe I damaged something and it acts up sometimes?
