Avatar f tn or a goiter in someone with risk factors for thyroid cancer, such as a person who had childhood radiation to their neck or who has a close relative with thyroid cancer.
Avatar n tn ve had cats my entire life-most of the time more than one AND some of had tumors/cancer. I have never had any vet OR specialist ever tell me that a tumor was definitely cancer without getting a biopsy! I really am, truly shocked that both vet and specialist are diagnosing cancer without a biopsy. Unbelievable!!!! ={ I really think you should go ahead and get the biopsy, and then you'll know the truth!! I really think that you'll feel better, once you get the truth.
822804 tn?1298226302 5 cm, then RAI is recommended. Small micro tumors do not require RAI, there are side effects and complications to RAI, so micro tumors are not treated. They will monitor you and if it does come back, then they will assess then and treat accordingly.
Avatar m tn However, these tumors can be invasive and spread to local and regional lymph nodes of the head and neck, including those at the side of the throat area. Some tumors would tend to metastasize to the lungs but this is seen in very late stages. Without further treatment, the 3-year survival rates for patients with this condition ranges from about 20-30%.
969565 tn?1247648036 Not to scare you or anything, I had four benign nodules, and when they took three of them out they found cancer in the thyroid tissue. Upon further surgery they found two more tumors-four nodules, four tumors. I am currently awaiting RAI...I was having issues with swallowing and hoarseness, blood pressure, hot/cold, wacky periods, they found out I had Hashimoto's syndrome. Even though all my levels were normal I had high TPO antibodies.
Avatar n tn About 6 months ago started noticing pain on the lower inner portion of left scapula, along with neck pain upon moving it certain ways, and tingling in upper left back and arms (infrequent in the arm) Also have been told that I have several "stress knots" in the area of the pain. Muscles always very tight and tense. Went to get an x-ray of thoracic back, as my doctor thinks I mught have some kind of muscle or nerve issue, he stated he wanted to rule out any "bone issues or tumors.
914782 tn?1243435663 I recently had CT scan of head and neck that revealed I have 4 tumors. Three of the tumors are on my jugular (the largest measures 1cm) and one is on my thyroid(measures 1.5cm and is hypodense). This all by itself has made me a nervous wreck because the first thing that comes to my mind is the big scary "C" word. I've had a 'lump' on the left side of my neck just below my ear for approx. 8 years.
Avatar f tn Would see a thyroid specialist for a detailed thyroid/neck ultrasound and determine if anything may be suspicious for cancer and require FNA biopsy. Chance of a nodule (lump) being cancer is about 5-10%.
Avatar n tn This cancer has a high cure rate with ten year survival rates for all patients with papillary thyroid cancer estimated at 80-90%. Cervical metastasis (spread to lymph nodes in the neck) are present in 50% of small tumors and in over 75% of the larger thyroid cancers. The presence of lymph node metastasis in these cervical areas causes a higher recurrence rate but not a higher mortality rate. Distant metastasis (spread) is uncommon, but lung and bone are the most common sites.
1614773 tn?1381868829 You are well young enough to be able to get thru the surgery BUT make sure you have a doctor very experienced with removing neck tumors. There is a lot of potential for damage in the neck area and you want an expert! Once that it taken care of, deal with the lesion (s) and following up on that dx. Good luck!
403156 tn?1290150018 But for several months now, her weight has stayed pretty much the same. From what I have read, 90% of thyroid tumors are cancerous in dogs and golden retrievers are more susceptible. We have an appointment with her vet on Thursday. What is the long term prognosis? Given how large it is, is it likely that it has spread? I am just trying to prepare myself...
Avatar n tn im so scared i had pain in left breast and under the arm just got results for fybroid tumors and calcificationtumors could i have the stage of cancer This discussion is related to Biopsy of Breast Calcifications.
2023801 tn?1333929758 Great that its he has no cancer. So how much radiation was given to him. I am worried of the radiation side affects for cancer for a normal CT scan on head and neck. I had twice one in 2018 and one in 2019.
512881 tn?1211631819 I hope your is not cancer. We were told that of lot of them are not cancer. Keep going to your doctor and get it checked out.
2074741 tn?1331880740 As far as if you should get a full one- I have heard there is some connection between ovarian cancer and uterine cancer. But I think it would be best to talk to your gyn to determine if this risk is enough to outweigh any negative impact having the ovaries removed and hormonal treatment might have on your health.
Avatar f tn I am going to have a colonosocpy soon but still am a reck not knowing if I should move on and trust the dr or be worried. any knowledge of ovarian cancer indicators as far tumors or masses, can oc form in the cells and not be seen by the ultrasound. I was told by the tech and the dor there was no tumors or masses and the vaginal check by the dor she did not feel anything other than an enlarged uterus. Thanks and God be with all of you that are dealing with ovarian cancer.
Avatar n tn My dog was diagnosed with tumors again after an ultrasound was performed. One in her abdomen an 2 on her liver. Last july she was also diagnosed with tumors after an ultrasound. At that time she was suppose to have 4. Turned out after doing a catscan she had only one tumor on one of her liver lobe that was removed and the biopsy was done twice and both times it came up not cancer. last year when she was opened up the dr saw nothing else but the one tumor.
Avatar m tn He could have any number of conditions, which may or may not be cancer, but if he has mast cell tumors, they release histamine and cause blood vessels to dilate to the point that he can go into shock and die.
Avatar m tn The doctor told me that they are not tumors and never contain cancer cells, unless you already have brain cancer and I do not. Did your doctor also tell you no sex? Also, do you know how long it takes a bleed to stop? I know the brain is the slowest healing organ in the body...Great. I have been in a terrible mood for the last week since prognosis. They say on the web that no ones ever died of cavernous angiomas, but I know the symptoms can get terrible.
362809 tn?1233506554 I was diagnosed 22 years ago with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Unfortunately, as I was only 20 at the time and naive about this sort of thing, I'm not sure what stage it was and the medical records are long gone. Anyway, I recently had a TSH stimulated Tg level taken which came back as 23.0.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have 2 lymph nodes always up on the right side of my throat aswell as one in the right side of my neck. The one in my neck has been up since Feb 2010. Along with that i have a slightly swollen left tonsil but i've had 3 doctors tell me that its nothing to worry about. I suffer from allergies and ALWAYS have a runny nose, even in Summer. I think i may have post nasal drip aswell. I was just wondering is it normal for my lymph nodes to be up all the time because of my allergies?
Avatar n tn Hello my mother has been diagnosed with lung cancer that they feel has metatasized to the brain. She had two small lesion behind each ear located on the somewhat outer region. The doctor recommends surgery although risky it is not so bad due to the outer location. He also says that brain tumors dont respond well to medication and radiation may shrink or remove tumor they most likely will come back. Please anyone with knowledge on this topic will be helpful.
