Hi there. about four weeks ago i developed a large red lump on my neck. it was on the right side and is just below the middle of my neck. the red lump went down within a week but has left a small pea sized lump that is hard but painless underneath the skin with no discolouration. could this be a sign of cancer? im thinking cause it came out like a spot it is probaly a boil, but would that leave a lump?
Turns our the lump (2.5 cm) is a lymph node on the right side of neck so the cancer has spread. I am having surgery Sept. 9th for a TT and neck dissection to remove some lymph nodes too. What are the chances of the cancer turning up somewhere else since we dont know how long it has been haning out in my lyphnatic system? It seems uncommon for it to spread to lungs, liver or bones but can it happen? planning on doing the radioactive iodine treatment 5-6 wks after surgery.
I quit taking it Dec 07 and due to the fact that my ovary is still functioning I could not go on the the next medicine that I would have taken. I just found a lump in my neck which had been diagnosed as Breast Cancer recourrance. I still have one ovary which is still functioning. It was dicsucced that is should have been removed but they never did do it.
In any case she concluded that because my neck is red and that my lump is small that I had an infection and see her in one week if it grows or does not get small. She did not prescribe me anything and told me that even a blood test is not necessary!
So I am just hypochondriac or a small (around 1 cm at least the part that I can feel with my hand in the neck) and ligt feeling of mucus in the throat is something that need attention and therefore find a another doctor?
The only sign I see that could be related to thyroid cancer is the lump.
Hi there. I have a lump, possibly a swollen gland on the left side of my neck, close to the jaw. According to the charts it looks like the jugulodigastric node and is right on top of the jugular. My best guess to size is just over a half inch. It isn't tender, just swollen. I just quit smoking and I'm 24 years old. I'm not sure how long it has been there, though I suspect its been a while (been monitoring it for a week now). I don't have any other symptoms that I'm aware of.
i am almost gone through 3 antibaitics. but still lymph nodes are swells often.i have small lump in side of my teeth wall.end lf the teeth wall it has the swelling nurves. if anyone knows this is teeth problem or mouth cancer syptoms.i am scared to death.please help me.
I found what I believe is a lump on the top part of my breast. The only time that I feel it is when my arm is behind my head. It's sore when I push on it. It's not a round lump. I am thinking it's nothing because I can only feel it when my arm is behind my head. Could this be cancer and should I get it checked out?
My 17 yr old daughter felt a lump on side of neck. Doctor measured it at 1.4cm and ordered an ultrasound. It is hard and rubbery and does not hurt. Ultrasound results state it has grown to 2.6cm x 1.3cm (in 1 month) and has no fatty hilum. Performed at a level 5 in the area of palpable abnormality. Mild increase in vascularity.

In most cases, a lump that moves is better news than a hard, stationary lump. However, it wouldn't hurt to have an ultrasound just to be sure, so ask your doctor to order one. If he refuses, ask him to refer you to someone else.

I am major relieved and thanks japdip for your wisdom but I am still concerned with this pain and even more concerning is that my glands on that side of my neck are now swollen. My neck hurts when I palpate it and so does my armpit and forearm. I also realize we are dealing with some plugged lymph possibly but I wonder about the neck thing. I do think it will resolve once drained but I'm wondering if I should go up to ER today as I am a bit dizzy.
About 5 days ago I noticed a small bean shaped lump on the side of my neck (not between the jagular and sternocelidomastoid muslce), but rather on the sternocleidomastoid muscle itself (I think). I consider myself a bit of a hypochondriac so naturally internet search will reveal the worst. All it takes is 1 negative to throw me off balance completely.
I went to my GP and he said I might have lymphedema and sent me off to do a ultrasound of the neck followed by FNA.
So I have a lump or inflammation of what I presume is a gland between my large neck muscle and under the back of my jaw line. Last week I was ok but developed a sore throat and headaches late last week and by the weekend I had a sore throat, vomited once and developed a sore neck and this lump all in the space of a day. I dunno what it is but if I turn my neck now it's not that painful but before it felt like I had strained a muscle in my neck and the lump itself is quite tender to touch.
I have a dime sized lump on the right side of the neck, it doesn't hurt nor do I have any other symptoms. Just a hard lump that doesn't move under the skin when I put pressure on it, it just stays in place. I don't remember how long I've had it. Maybe a few months to a year, I hardly ever get sick the most is once to twice a year. Any suggestions would be helpful thank you.
Poor thing. He sounds like he's having a hard time right now. Have you asked the vet about this lump? That would be a good idea. Plus, you need to have the other problems looked at, the running eyes/peculiar smell about him/lack of co-ordination. I don't know what those things are, but if you can get to the bottom of that, his general fitness might improve greatly.

No, I'm sure the lump didn't burst and let the cancer fluids into your body. Cancer doesn't work that way. Probably, there was swelling on thyroid and it went down.
What do you mean "The tests came back 15"? You'll have to give us some more information.
If there is a previous history of cancer (I am not sure which cancer it was), then the painful lump behind the ear could be a cancer metastasis. It can also be an infected cyst or an abscess or boil. You will have to try to get some medical aid, say a free clinic or something because this needs further investigations. A fine needle aspiration should be done to know what is there inside the lump and do a cytology study to see what it is made up of.

Hey, I have a small lump, about pea sized, on the back left of my neck. It does not hurt, unless I constantly press on it. Over the past year, I have also been having pains in my chest when I breathe, and am short of breath a lot. Also, my legs have been feeling really weak sometimes, to the point where I can't stand. I don't know if these are all related, but I am worried about the lump being some kind of tumor/cancer. Can anyone help me?
I have a small white bump in the exact middle of the roof of my mouth. It doesn't hurt, but I am scared. I just read about someone else with the exact same condition it seems. I have the same concerns with the genital warts as cause, but have not messed with mine, but I was thinking about it. I've been a smoker, about a pack a day, since I was a teenager. Also, I have not been dentally hygenic and have had many problems with my teeth b/c of not brushing them for days sometimes.
