Six months ago, I strained my muscle between my neck and shoulder, after running. Sometimes, the pain started at the base of the skull and at times my shoulder. I went to the doctor and took a xray that did not show a dislocated or herinated disc. I went on vacation and did not run but swim. I was free of pain. I have started back to running and thepain is back. What could be wrong?
You may certainly have wrist tendonitis, but why the neck and shoulder pain. The pain and numbness you are having could be from your neck and an EMG would assist with that answer. It is a nerve conduction study. You also need an xray and MRI of your neck to rule out that as a cause for your numbness. I would see a neurologist.
s been about 10 hours, and I still have some numbness in the back of my shoulder (below the shoulder blade) and wrist. There's some tenderness in the back of my shoulder as well but no soreness in the front. It's uncomfortable to move my shoulder, but mostly doable. I get a little pain once I lift it over my head, but it's doable.
I feel pain going down my right leg, but I have also been feeling numbness between my shoulder blades at the base of my neck. Like a tingly/burning feel. It used to come and go, but now it is constant. Could this be related to the back problem that I already have or is this something completely new? It is starting to get on my nerves (no pun intended) and I want to get it fixed, but I am not sure if I should go in or if it is something minor. Thanks for any help.
3 months have shoulder and upper arm nerve pain and i wake up with pins, needles,numbness in both hands
had theraphy for frozen shouler cordizone shots inrt arm . had an exray only. theraphy makes it worse
seems all related, what should i do now.? any sugestion /?
ihave to shake my hands to get rid ok numbness and better when im up.
I was in a car wreck it caused whiplash and a head contusion in 2008 and I just had surgery for Herniated Disc I had pain and numbness in my right hand and fingers, in my arm numbness in my elbow pain in between my shoulder blades and across my shoulder, neck stiffness pain in my neck loss of motion in neck and major and many headaches I also had dizzy spells and major sinus problems form it. I tried PT and chiropractors they were a temporary fix and that was it.

3 weeks ago I work up with left shoulder pain esp. on the side and upper shoulder. The symptoms got worse and I had an X ray and MRI done of my shoulder. Everything checked out ok. a week later pain got worse and has radiated to my upper back and lower neck. Now I am having trouble lifting my left arm!! I can lift it if I use my right arm to assist but I cannot lift it on my own.Like I have no strength or something is wrong with my nerves???
They will be able to do nerve conduction tests to find any nerve that might be under pressure from something that cant be seen on an x-ray.The extreme cold makes the nerve pain worse in my neck,head and shoulder all the way down to my fingers.The feeling is like being pricked by a thousand needles and feels like I am standing by a bon fire,with cramping and muscle spasms,numbness.If this sounds like anything that you might be going through,you ought to go see your family doctor like I said.

Was having really bad neck and right shoulder blade pain. With numbness and tingling down my right arm into my hand. Then all of a sudden I started getting really bad headaches. I'm on day 10 of a massive headache. Which seems to be stemming from my upper back and neck area. Pain is horrendous. Nothing i take helps at all. I've tried Tylenol, Motrin, muscle relaxers, and pain meds. Nothing even touches it. Any idea what this is? And how to get rid of this headache?
However, after adjustment #8, I noticed I started getting numbness and tingling my shoulder down to my fingers on the side where I have the shoulder and elblow pains, slight numbness and tingling in lower back and just above the knees down to my toes of same side, and some tingling sensation on chest on same side. I went to a general doctor and to urgent care and they both just prescribed my an anti-inflammatory, vicodin and soma. The pain switches sides sometimes and the numbness has subsided. My neck and shoulder are still tight on the right side, but my neck just feels stiff in general. I also have lower back pain, but that is fairly normal for me.
Since being assaulted by a resident in a care home that I work at I have experienced onging and increasing pain in my shoulder, stiffness in my neck, pain in my arm and numbness with occasional shooting pain into my hand. I often have problems holding onto things with this hand, or I lose strength in it very suddenly. It is my left and dominant side.
It almost feels like my shoulder blade is pulling away from my spine....VERY PAINFUL. My pinky and ring finger and shoulder become painful and numb at night (left arm). Generally, head/ear pain, shoulder and arm numbness originates from the neck problems due to irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because the nerves that supply the back of the head start in the upper cervical spine. Mostly, these symptoms aggravate after turning head and typically occur in patients with previous neck injuries and in patients with marked arthritis of the upper cervical spine.
Two weeks ago I woke up with the terrible pain in my left shoulder and lower neck. I work out a lot and have been under unusual stress. Bed I was sleeping in was terrible. I went to ER fearing a heart attack. All clear on that account. Doc told me I had a pinched nerve or severe muscle strain. Got hydrocodone and it helped some. Went on a 5 day cruise thinking it would be relaxing. Got a very vigorous massage - very bad decision.
