Avatar_f_tn 3 weeks ago I started having severe pain and stiffness in my neck and upper back , 9 days ago it changed and I now still have a sore neck but the biggest problem is the severe pain in my shoulder and shoulder blade area, under arm and arm all the way to my wrist(all right side). I also have major twitching all day long, cramping, tingling, heavy pain feeling and a dull constant ache with some sharp pains as well. This pain is constant however at night is always worse.
408795_tn?1324939275 I often have shoulder pain and I too have arthritis and Osteo. My pain comes if I carry a purse over my should, or wear a bra too long. when I get home from anywhere...Off come the bra! The straps kill me. I have found if I stop carrying thins on my shoulder or do not lift anything over a few pounds I do alright. Lifted a bag of garden mulch the other day and mt neck aand shoulder was killing me.

Avatar_f_tn HIV symptoms cannot come on so soon, and might be due to alcohol and the effects of passing out; or a garden variety virus. However, you clearly are at risk for HIV and other STDs by virtue of your alcohol-related sexual behavior. (You cannot blame it on the men 'taking advantage of you'. The responsibility for your sexual safety is entirely yours.) It would be a good idea to have an HIV test 4-6 weeks after the last possible exposre.
Avatar_n_tn I have disc rupture at c5-6 and c6-7. My pain is mostly in the neck and shoulder, but my hands are numb to a degree. My doc told me to NOT use a chiropractor as those types of spinal manipulation would only aggravate an already inflamed nerve. Have you tried traction? The device is cheap, it hangs on a door and lifts your head to separate the vert. and remove pressure. Ask your Doc.
Avatar_m_tn I am now left with after 5 months from this incident pelvic pain, sciatica type pain, itching and burning on scrotum from time to time but less severe than before. I also wake with watery eyes, sinus congestion, white stuff on corners of mouth every day since exposure. I have taken multiple STD panels for every STD HIV, syphilis, goon, chylmedia, hep, and herpes at 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 3 months all neg. I even followed up with an HIV and syphilis at 4.5 months and was neg.
Avatar_m_tn Use a large pot of water and place pads in to a boiling point and then keep on medium boil adding extra water as needed and then take out the pad or pads and place on three layers of heavy towels folding each towel one at a time. Place a thin towel over the neck and also the shoulder and then place the hot towels over those areas and leave on for 20 mins before and sometimes after exercises.
Avatar_n_tn It sounds to me like your headaches and shoulder pain are coming from your neck--specifically the neck muscles and more specifically the scalenes, and SCM muscles, probably with some help from the upper traps. you get his prblem from forward head posture--quite common in today's day and age of computers. You should get a book by Clair Davies called the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook. Read the head & neck and shoulder sections and then go to work.
1485281_tn?1287951992 I also get severe neck and shoulder pain with my sinus problems and this has been happening to me my whole life. there has to be a reason and a connection between my sinus problems and my neck and shoulder pain.
Avatar_n_tn This started about 1 year ago also, but went away after about 3-4 weeks at that time. But now I've had this for 3 months persistently. And, my neck, shoulder and arm muscles are getting much more sore too, and perhaps somewhat weaker, though I was told that I do not have muscle disease. Sometimes, my right jaw area seems in some pain (like a burning sensation) and swollen now, which did not happen before.
Avatar_n_tn This problem occurs most often in men ages 20 to 50. Chest pain is common, especially pain behind the breastbone. Sometimes this pain spreads to the neck and left shoulder. Pain from pericarditis is different from angina (AN'jih-nah or an-JI'nah). (Angina is chest pain or discomfort due to reduced blood supply to the heart muscle.) Angina feels like pressure, but pericarditis usually is a sharp, piercing pain over the center or left side of the chest.
Avatar_n_tn hullo there am in my mid 20z experiencing same neck pain and shoulder pain that switches from one side to the other . i was so worried i had no idea what to do .. i tried some anti bacterial and painkillers like pelox and zerodol.
Avatar_m_tn As you are complaining of armpit pain and sinus problems and lung pain, all these should be checked out by your doctor as it sounds you have a bacterial infection that is affecting your glands. Like I said to you in a previous posting a lot of people in the UK suffer from respiratory infections during the winter months. As you have a partner that you are going to marry, you should be faithful to her and not have normal or oral sex with other people. Would you like it if she was unfaithful?
Avatar_n_tn One of the major symptoms that I experienced over the years with HCV was a frequently stiff and painful neck. Sometimes the pain was on the right, sometimes on the left, and during some periods was extremely severe and needed physical therapy in order for me to function. After tx my neck problems have been less frequent and less intense.
Avatar_n_tn I have searched several different forums on the net and see the same story which is referred ear pain , neck and or head stiffness and pain and a myriad of other symptoms in each case the patient is seen by his GP given a course of antibiotics the pain never goes away is then sent to an ENT or dentist so forth and so on . So far there hasn't been one positive diagnosis and in some cases dentists have referred patients to oral surgeons for needless wisdom tooth extraction.
Avatar_n_tn The pain finally diminished, but about a month later it started in my right neck. The pain now runs all the way down my neck and into my shoulder and right chest a bit. It especially hurts if I apply pressure to my pulse(Carotid artery). It feels like inflammed nerves or something. So, I went back to another doctor and he gave the same diagnosis. He said unfortunatley the cause is unknown. Now I am on a stronger anti-inflammatory. I just want to know the cause so it won't come back.
Avatar_n_tn The weekend came, and I only got sicker, with terrible neck and shoulder neck was literally rock hard and completely stiff, and I also had a headache in both of my temples, that traveled into my ears and under my eyes and down the sides of my face into my jaw. It was crazy, so I went home.
461838_tn?1255793816 I am on and off prednisone and can never sleep when I am on it. It is a great drug for healing but can cause insomnia.
Avatar_n_tn I have had right side facial pain, deep ear pain, neck and shoulder pain, and eye drooping, numbness and tingling in hands and feet, blurred vision that has progressively worsened over the course of 3 years and been told I have TMJ and migraines from TMJ. I have taken all kinds of antiinflammatories, migraines meds, etc. I have been to several doctors, emt, dentists, oral surgeons, chiropractor, etc.
5249831_tn?1407717326 The last 4 wks has been horrible. Every muscle and fibre in my body hurts. My neck has hurt since March so I made a makeshift neck brace with a travel pillow and a scarf to hold it in place. It hurts doing nothing and if I do look out! 1 1/2 wks of debilating back pain, 4days of eyes swollen shut with black eyes, head and neck are going to explode, 5th blood transfusion, blacking out while driving, 4days I couldn't use my arms it hurt to hold a glass of water, cut my food, and brush my teeth.
211940_tn?1267884866 The compression of the median nerve can cause pain all the way up to the neck and is not relieved by pain meds because it is nerve pain. I finally caved in and decided to have carpal tunnel release surgery in the right hand (even though the doctor said it was well advanced and may not relieve the pain in my arm if there is damage to the nerve). I am happy to say that the pain in my upper arm and the numbness in my hand is completely gone!
Avatar_f_tn I do have a gallstone and have experienced the lower right side pain and nausea plus the shoulder blade pain but this right upper side pain is new to me. I have been terrified of pulmonary embolism or something but I think it must be either gallbladder related or stress related. The only other thing I can think of is that I started a new fitness regime and overdid it a bit for the first time. I ended up a few days later with a terrible lower backache which lasted about a week.
Avatar_f_tn As far as the viral links to MS the two viruses that have been repeated implicated as triggers are Epstein Barr virus (EBV a virus in the herpes family) and Human Herpes virus #6 (HHV-6). So, answer to your question, Yes, definitely. What's your story about Parvo B19?
Avatar_f_tn Hi all A question for your knowledgable selves I have had this a few times now Sometimes in the bath Sometimes in the night when sleeping , I was fast asleep last night and woke with the most painful chest pain left side , and going into my left shoulder and down left arm it is gripping I couldn't lay back down it eased slightly when I sat up It's now mid afternoon and I've still got it but in my back (shoulder ) I'm still undiagnosed , had an episode last Monday of double vision and p
Avatar_n_tn Just Yesterday, the 31st, I began experiencing a little neck and shoulder pain on the right. My headaches pain seemed to be localized behind my right eye and right ear, very sharp and half nauseating. My face hurt like when you have a bad sinus infection, but I had no runny nose or stuffiness. I made an appointment with my chiropractor, and she made several adjustments. Yet, just today, it all seemed to be getting worse.
Avatar_n_tn I have noticed an increasing stiffness in my mid and upper back, along with frequent rib pain and stiffness over the past four years, since SVR. My neck also feels very tight and 'immobile' down deep in the spinal column. Often when I move my head quickly or twist my body when walking, I feel off balance. I also feel many more odd sensations along my back, and neck/ head when sitting or resting.
Avatar_m_tn Rashes on my chest, neck, night sweats, weak, tonge has soars, neorological symptoms diagnosed benign action tremor, painful and inflamed nodes in neck, armpit, and groin. These symptoms went on and did not happen at once but more of a progrssion. Now after one year I am left with soarness on right side, mainly flank, back, armpit, occasional night sweats I went to the my promary doctor who sent me to infectious disease, neurology, rheumatology, and eventually hematology.
Avatar_n_tn No neck pain here, however my mother has been suffering from neck pain and the kind of neck and shoulder stiffness and occasional numbess mentioned for many years. She does not have HCV. I do have lower back problems, however (muscular not nerve related), but then again so does my mother, and other members of my immediate family plus a number of friends my age. As mentioned, many of these problems are very common in the general population.
