Avatar n tn Symptoms (in general from herniated discs in the cervical region and lumbar region) suggesting the need for urgent surgery includes muscle weakness, loss of bowel or bladder control, loss of sensation, particularly in the pelvis and severe and progressive pain. This will need to be decided upon by your PCP and/or neurologist. Lastly, where is your pain? Is it associated with the bulging disc or is it caused by the actual car wreck?
Avatar f tn They will be able to do nerve conduction tests to find any nerve that might be under pressure from something that cant be seen on an x-ray.The extreme cold makes the nerve pain worse in my neck, head and shoulder all the way down to my fingers. The feeling is like being pricked by a thousand needles and feels like I am standing by a bon fire, with cramping and muscle spasms, numbness. If this sounds like anything that you might be going through, you ought to go see your family doctor like I said.
Avatar n tn Hi there. There are various possibilities for these symptoms of shoulder pain and numbness right arm like nerve root compression due to degenerative disc disease of the cervical spine compressing the nerve roots exiting from the neural foramina. Cervical spondylosis, bony spurs irritating the brachial plexus as it passes through the axilla. Trauma, frozen shoulder also could contribute to the symptoms.
Avatar f tn my pain level stays between 3 and 5 i have had steroid shots in my neck and shoulder which did not work at all, i have been out of work since june 2008 and there is no way i can do my job with the amount of pain i have in my neck. i am at a total loss right now i cant take the pain any longer. Is this type of thing normal. I need some advice on what to do next.
Avatar f tn The tests were fine. Even if you did have HIV you would not get symptoms of a sore neck and shoulders. More than likley they are stress related or from many other things and i say this from personal experience tbh... Having some phyiso will certainly help for sure or of course going to a doctor as well As for testing, HIV certianly not your negative that im 100% sure about, if you havnt then testing for std's would be recommended.
Avatar f tn I was in a car wreck it caused whiplash and a head contusion in 2008 and I just had surgery for Herniated Disc I had pain and numbness in my right hand and fingers, in my arm numbness in my elbow pain in between my shoulder blades and across my shoulder, neck stiffness pain in my neck loss of motion in neck and major and many headaches I also had dizzy spells and major sinus problems form it. I tried PT and chiropractors they were a temporary fix and that was it.

Avatar m tn You may certainly have wrist tendonitis, but why the neck and shoulder pain. The pain and numbness you are having could be from your neck and an EMG would assist with that answer. It is a nerve conduction study. You also need an xray and MRI of your neck to rule out that as a cause for your numbness. I would see a neurologist.
Avatar n tn Went to phisio, which helped with the initial horrible pain, but now I still have shoulder and upper shoulder blade pain, and also neck pain, occasionally along with it.There are times when the pain is still felt in my chest as well, although numerous trips to the hospital has assured me that mu heart is fine.(still a very scary feeling!)I also occasionally have a numbness in my left arm. Please help with suggestions!!! I've had an MRI done on my neck, and that was fine too.
Avatar m tn I have pain in my neck, right shoulder blade area and my right arm. The pain is different depending on what I am doing. When lowering my head to get in my car or just moving up and down, the pain is in my neck. Sitting in bed it is in my shoulder and arm and sometimes my arm will have a slight numbing sensation. Coughing and sneezing, there is shooting pains through all three. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
Avatar m tn about 10 years ago i was lifting a heavy item when i felt a pop in my neck just behind my right ear then i felt a throbing banging sensation in the same position i sat down and after a while it calmed down after that i felt very dizzy for a few weeks but every time a strained i got dizzy and if i stained really hard i would get the same banging feeling in my neck i also get a grinding in neck around the same pos as initial injury since then it has just been a down hill slope ive had constant s
Avatar f tn ve had not only the flu symptoms for 3 days but my arm was very painful as well. In November I experienced pain in the arm and shoulder only to get worse with neck pain as well. Two orthopedic doctors cannot find anything wrong even after an MRI. They did however admit to having other patients complaining of arm and shoulder pain after getting the flu shot and, discovering rotator cuff tears. Could my pain be a resulf of the flu shot?
Avatar n tn The tingling is now gone, but I still have upper back/shoulder blade pain and arm pain. The pain ususally starts in my upper back, then under my armpit, then my upper arm feels tight and starts to hurt and the pain then radiates down the front of my arm, under my wrist and sometimes into my hand. And I still feel as if my arm is weaker. Last night I had some muscle twitches in my shoulder and when I lean back to stretch my upper back my shoulder does hurt some.
Avatar n tn It starts and goes through my collar bone area and up the side of my neck. It happens 50+ times a day, and is really interfering with my life. I can find no trigger for it, or anyway to get it to stop. Although each instance only last maybe a few seconds, it feels like forever, and happens often. I dont know if the back and shoulder pain are related, but because both are on my left side, I thought they might be. Has anyone experienced these symptoms, or know of anything they might be?
Avatar n tn After few months i had this excruciating pain in my left shoulder, neck and arm.my doctor gave me the pain killer but its ma second day after the pain occurred and i can still feel the pain when i do any moment in ma left hand.
Avatar n tn Iam having the same pain back pain shoulder pain and neck pain all in the left side but it all started right after a breast biopsy and its been giong on for a yr.I have no idea what it could be if you find something out please post it THANKS....
Avatar n tn I have already been diagnosed with arthritis but I'm not sure if the pains I experience are related to arthritis as I've not read anywhere of someone who experiences the same as me. I get a lot of neck, upper back & shoulder pain, and when I raise my arms higher than shoulder level I experience pins and needles in my hands which is quite severe, this is accompanied by numbness in the hands & shoulders. Then the shoulders will seize and are then painful to move.
Avatar m tn STIFF NECK and shoulder muscle pain. To-date I have this. I also have bowel problems. Have flue like symptoms…; did several blood tests, no HIV tests, and they said ok. A two weeks ago, they said I have high white blood cell cound, 46. Could I have gotten HIV or Hepatic C from this? Why stiff neck and shoulder pain… not just musle pain.
Avatar f tn m getting the run around. The neck pain I have lived with for years but the shoulder and gripping pain in my upper arm is really ugly. My shoulder hurts when I move it but the gripping pain around my upper arm (about half way between shoulder and elbow) feels live a red hot band squeezing my arm. It causes me to double over in pain and I have very little use of my left arm on most days. The hydrocodone does little to ease the pain.
Avatar n tn I also have been suffering with shoulder and neck pain, and even upper back. I was wondering if the two could be related. I was tested for hormonal problems, thyroid problems, myalgias, and anything else they routinely test for when they take your blood. I was given a low dose of antiepressant to help me sleep at night so I am not awakened with the pain. This helps at night, but I am getting weary of the constant ache.
Avatar f tn Could the neck/shoulder symptoms also be ulnar-related? It seems to make sense. And what can I do or who should I see about it? Doctor? Chiropractor? Massage therapist? Home remedies? Thanks for any help.
535758 tn?1213715961 Problems from this area do cause pain into the arm and shoulders. There is always scar tissue. I have permanent neck and shoulder pain since my surgery (and before). As well as pain into my shoulder blades. I had all these problems before surgery. So really, the surgery did not help me at all.
Avatar f tn TMD may be a contributing factor to head, neck, shoulder, and orofacial symptoms. Knee joint and calf muscle symptoms may be indirctly influenced by craniocervalmandibular complex, which is so called descending pathology. However, the evidence is probably minimal and may be mostly anecdotal. On the other hand, foot pathology may influence all the way up to head, so called ascending pathology. Seeing an orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist may help your calf and knee joint problem.
