From that day to today, the pain was only on my left shoulder and sometimes in the chest but when I only when I take a very very deep breath (for testing purposes). Currently, there is no pain at all, just a slight ache on my shoulder sometimes. Now, I'm not even sure this is a heart problem, but I am just worried because my father died of a heart attack, so I guess that puts me in a risk group or whatever. However, I am only 19, so I don't know if it can even be a heart problem.
I am unsure if anybody can help me with this. For around 25 years I have had the most horrendous left shoulder blade/neck pain. I have had physiotherapy, seen a chiropractor, had endless x rays, had aromatherapy, had acupuncture, taken endless painkillers…the list is endless. Also, 21 years ago my physiotherapist said that I was …. "born with a flat spine"!? Every treatment I have had has brought zero results, freedom from pain or respite.
Instead trying acupunture for back shoulder neck pain. I have started doing Yoga and am trying to work out everyday also. I've been having alot of neck, shoulder and arm pain. My doctor ordered an MRI and the report showed bulging annulus c6-c7 but no focal disc protrusions, mild posterior lateral spurring on the right at c5-c6 with a slight thecal sac encroachment. What does this mean? Will this get better on it's own? I have severe pain that travels down my left arm so bad I can't even use my arm. It's worse when I first get out of bed in the mornings. Is this going to require surgery?
Chest pain, pain in my ribs, neck and jaw pain, pain in my left elbow, pain in my left shoulder, pain in the center of my left chest and right chest, and constipation( now I always thought that once the gall bladder was gone that you did not have that problem). So another EKG (4 so far in total) has showed up perfect. Another round of blood work ( have not gotten results yet ). and a Stress test scheduled for Nov. 5th.
I was in a car accident about 4 years ago and my left shoulder and arm were jammed in the door. Ever since, I seem to get a lot of periods of shoulder and arm pain - sometimes it's pain, sometimes it's aching and others it's like tingly and shooting. Because I tend to worry too much, I always think it's signs of a heart attack and have ended up in the ER twice because of it.
I also am having a problem with balance, and muscles seem to give way when moving.
Two weeks ago I woke up with the terrible pain in my left shoulder and lower neck. I work out a lot and have been under unusual stress. Bed I was sleeping in was terrible. I went to ER fearing a heart attack. All clear on that account. Doc told me I had a pinched nerve or severe muscle strain. Got hydrocodone and it helped some. Went on a 5 day cruise thinking it would be relaxing. Got a very vigorous massage - very bad decision.
I have had no heart problems since other than they occasional palpitation which are benign. About a week ago I started getting pain that started at my neck and shoulder all the way down to my fingers (mostly my middle and ring finger). Anyone know what this may be due to? I have no heart symtoms - no shortness of breath, no chest pain, no dizziness, etc. I had a complete heart checkup (ultrasound, stress-test, etc.) and all came back perfect. I also had an EKG (yeah, I know..
Went to phisio, which helped with the initial horrible pain, but now I still have shoulder and upper shoulder blade pain, and also neck pain, occasionally along with it.There are times when the pain is still felt in my chest as well, although numerous trips to the hospital has assured me that mu heart is fine.(still a very scary feeling!)I also occasionally have a numbness in my left arm. Please help with suggestions!!! I've had an MRI done on my neck, and that was fine too.
For years now I have suffered from back pain that keeps me up at night. The pain comes only on my left shoulder, neck, arm and back. The main "root" for the pain feels like it is coming from the left side of my back close to the C6 or C7 (i think, I don't know too much about this so I may be off). The pain can be felt all the way down my left arm. When i put pressure on my upper neck (left side) it seems to temporarily relieve all the pain but it just comes back.
When scalene muscle is the cause of pain, the pain is referred to (either all or a combination of) chest, inner lining of scapula (shoulder bone), shoulder, posterior and lateral sides of the arm right up to the thumb and index finger.
Anyways, I have been experiencing chronic left sided pain (arm, shoulder, and neck) along with back pain in the middle since February. I have had this on and off for about 2 years, but it has been chronic for almost 3 months. I wake up with it in the morning and go to bed with it at night. It ranges from a dull ache (almost like the area is weak) to a sharp pain. I have had so much testing done in the past 3 months that I don't know where to turn.
I have discomfort in my upper left chest (2-3), sometimes feel pressure on my shoulder and dull pain in my left forearm, which can extend into my face. The pain can occur while walking, resting or during exercise and lasts for hours. I have no shortness of breath and regularly exercise at a fitness gym. Acetamediphine (Tylenol) with Codeine removes the pain. My GP thinks it is muscular or from my neck and not heart related but I am started to question that.
My wife, now 47, a has been having neck pain and shoulder tightness for more than a year, She also frequently has numbness in her little finger and ring finger on her right hand. She sometimes gets dizzy. For the past week she has been naseus in combination with the rest of it, and very tired. This seems to be related to knotted muscles at the outer edge of her right arm joins the shoulder blade very near her underarm, and also to emotional stress.

I’ve been going to Physical therapy for the past four months, for the shoulder, arm, back and neck pain. I just don’t know what to do, I've pain in the left shoulder and the left shoulder blade. The pain starts usually when I'm holding my hand up high, when I'm typing or on the phone, also when I'm driving. It starts from the neck and down my arm. The pain is unpredictable; it appears when I'm moving from one side to another.
It could also be poor eye sight as in near or far sightedness. Since you have a neck and shoulder pain too, possibility of pinched cervical nerve, trigeminal neuralgia, temporal arteritis, benign intracranial hypertension, hypothyroidism or diabetes causing neuropathy etc too should be looked at. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor and get a referral for an ophthalmologist and a neurologist. Hope this helps. Take care!
