Six months ago, I strained my muscle between my neck and shoulder, after running. Sometimes, the pain started at the base of the skull and at times my shoulder. I went to the doctor and took a xray that did not show a dislocated or herinated disc. I went on vacation and did not run but swim. I was free of pain. I have started back to running and thepain is back. What could be wrong?
I do a lot of running and I have a lot of troubles with the muscles that run from my shoulders into my chest. Sometimes the pain goes over my shoulder into my back between the shoulder blades. I have had tons of Cardio test and have pasted them all. It feels like the muscle are always "clinched" or flexed. It seems to bother me more when I do faster runs then long runs. It has become a constant pain that flairs up on occasion. Any suggestions?
I have pain in my neck, right shoulder blade area and my right arm. The pain is different depending on what I am doing. When lowering my head to get in my car or just moving up and down, the pain is in my neck. Sitting in bed it is in my shoulder and arm and sometimes my arm will have a slight numbing sensation. Coughing and sneezing, there is shooting pains through all three. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
t have the constant pain like I did, but if I try to stretch my arm or move it a certain way, I get a burning feeling the runs from my right shoulder all the way down my arm to my hand, the burning pain usually goes away after a couple min. I can still use my arm, but I don't have the same range of motion, I can't lie with my arm under my head, and even trying to shave my legs is a chore. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong. Would an exray show if something is wrong with the muscle?
I had a back injury about 30 years ago where I was doing a double back flip and landed on my head with my head arching back. I was on my back to a couple days and couldn't move. The pain was below the neck in the thoractic region. I have experienced pain and discomfort in my shoulder blades since then, but it has gotten much worse now. It's gotten to the point that I don't live pain free. I have bad days and worse days.
They told me that I have a straight neck, which is causing all of the shoulder, neck, and back pain. They also believe I have a pinched nerve, possibly caused by a bulging disc, that is giving me the sensation of pins and needles. They gave me 4 prescriptions, none of which fully cover the pain..
I experience many different types of pain, and the severity ranges from day to day. I am only 25 and in good health otherwise. This has significantly limited what I am able to lift/move/do etc..
I have since then been on MSContin and Percocet. I still have severe pain in my shoulder, bad bad headaches, pain when moving my neck from side to side (ear to shoulder), nerve pain running down the back of my arm into my elbow, top of my forearm and into my pinky and ring finger. I had gone to a doctor x rays of the neck and shoulder were fine.
I took some pain killer and got back to work and run again but max i could run in last 2 weeks is 5 miles. I am having shoulder and lower neck pain still. I also get hip pain when i run but not at any other time. knee is still hurting me but not that much as i can run 5 miles, i am still icing it daily. Do you have any help for my back and neck pain?

My initial symptoms were severe muscle spasm in the right side of my neck, shoulder blade, and arm, along with sharp piercing pains, tingling and numbness running from my neck, shoulder, full arm, and through my fingers, and also pain in my mid and lower back. Unfortunately I was at the mercy of workers comp and I did not get the appropriate testing within a reasonable amount of time and was ultimately put on MMI without any. Hi, I am very worried about my chest, breast, and shoulder pain on the right side. I have a dull pain with heat from my breast chest and back of my shoulder straight across from my breast to back. It gets worst and then it gets better. Above my collarbone is very sensitive. When I massage it the dull uncomfortable pain gets better. I also have a lump on my neck that connects to the spot above the collarbone. I have gone to the Dr.s but she said I have fibrosis. Something about muscles.
In the last year or so, I have developed pain wiht typing. The pain occurs in the my shoulder, my neck and my upper back, especially in my shoulder blades and under my arms in the rib area. Also the pain seems to be worse on my right side from the side of my neck down to my right shoudler and shoulder blade. I also get a knot in the middle of my back. I have tried PT to strengthen my back, but with no help. The pain kept returning. I have tried antiinflammatories and muscle relaxers.
I would get sharp and shooting pains that went from my neck all the way down my shoulder and down my arm and through my right thumb and forefinger. The sensation is like if you put your arm on an electrified fence and held it there.

my pain level stays between 3 and 5 i have had steroid shots in my neck and shoulder which did not work at all, i have been out of work since june 2008 and there is no way i can do my job with the amount of pain i have in my neck. i am at a total loss right now i cant take the pain any longer. In february 2011 I had to have neck surgery from c-3 to c-7 fusion on each disk and a plate with 7 screws. There was pain after the surgery and nerve damage in the neck and both shoulders and arms. I have not been able to work since then nor have I been able to do any of the things that I did before the accident. I tried everything that I was asked to try, therapy, stimulator, hot pads, nothing worked. For the last 6 months my pain level has increased.
My 34 yr old husband has recently (in the last month) started having extreme headaches. He says that the are constant, sharp, pains. The location is from his shoulders up through his neck, continuing to the back of his head (about ear level) and goes around the sides. There's no pain in the top or front of his head. Our Dr. at first said sinus infection and gave 2 rounds of antibiotics. Then he said it was pre-hypertension with his blood pressure running about 135/90 and put him on b.p.
Symptoms (in general from herniated discs in the cervical region and lumbar region) suggesting the need for urgent surgery includes muscle weakness, loss of bowel or bladder control, loss of sensation, particularly in the pelvis and severe and progressive pain. This will need to be decided upon by your PCP and/or neurologist.
Lastly, where is your pain? Is it associated with the bulging disc or is it caused by the actual car wreck?
I have pain in my right forearm, it started as like bolts of pain running up and down my forearm. It went away for about 10 or 15 minutes but then the pain started in my elbow, stronger this time. That lasted about 15 minutes and went away for a couple minutes it then started on my shoulder even more strong this time; I felt the pain running down my arm to the tips of my fingers. The pain was so strong that it made me cry. I took 200mg of ibuprofen.
I was in a car crash last april and have a right shoulder injury and neck pain. I had 12 weeks of physio after and had my last session in dec. I have been ok since unitl two weeks ago.I have the pain back again. I was studying for my mock exams and doing a lots of writting could this have made it worse? please help! I am worried because i am doing my real exams in may. I am in alot of pain and scared to go to doctor because he might tell me I cann't do my exam.
