Holding the phone for a long time can cause a spasm in that arm and shoulder. PS I hate taking chemicals and take Naproxen only if my alternatives don't work.
You may certainly have wrist tendonitis, but why the neck and shoulder pain. The pain and numbness you are having could be from your neck and an EMG would assist with that answer. It is a nerve conduction study. You also need an xray and MRI of your neck to rule out that as a cause for your numbness. I would see a neurologist.

About two days later, I've been getting chest pain, dizziness, left arm pain, sometimes both arms, shoulder pain, shortness of breath, feeling weak, and not hardly been able to sleep lately. Like I said, I thought I was coming down with the Flu or something. I'd eat and then sometimes throw it back up. Then I thought I was dehydrated but my pee is clear and stuff. My eye site seems to be blurrier. My neck has also been hurting. I thought I might have slept funny.
I'm currently in physical therapy for headaches and shoulder pain, and have had some relief from the McKenzie Method PT. To paraphrase my doctors, dizziness has a zillion possible causes and it took lots of visits and tests to rule out the dangerous (and obvious) stuff. I still don't have a definitive answer for my dizziness, but what I'm doing seems to be working. Hang in there.
I have a few symptoms that make it hard for a proper diagnonis - constant neck pain, shoulder to elbow pain, lots of numbness in neck, shoulders & blades & arms. Ringing in ears, especially the right ear, dizziness, blurred vision, headaches. I also have PVC's and Afib. I have been researching these sysmptons and the words schwannoma tumor came up a few times. Any thoughts on this?
I have been suffering from head, neck and shoulder pain for about 6 months. I changed chairs, pillows etc and improved my posture . My doctor prescribed pain killer and muscle relaxers. I never took muscle relaxers on a regular basis except every now and then when the pain is very severe . Last week, the pain was severe so I took muscle relaxers and stayed home. No improvement, 2 days later I woke up in the middle of the night trembling, felt nauseaus, dizzy.

Recently, I bent down and felt a pain in the back of my head and now have been having increased headaches and shoulder (left) discomfort. I am being treated in PT for cervical strain. For many years, I have had a symptom that will occur periodically. If I turn my head a certain way, I will experience tongue numbness and partial head numbness. It only lasts 20-30 seconds, but makes me feel sort of dizzy.
the numbness seemed to ease up over time but now im getting headaches, neck and shoulder pain, when i lay down at night i feel tightness in my chest and can feel my heart beating really fast. i get light headed all the time and can't seem to focus my eyes. i have had my eyes checked and they were fine but just some mild stigmitism.
For 5 years now, I work on the computer all day and get a daily stiff neck, pain in the shoulder when I turn my neck, and headache which I see a Chiropractor for about every 6-8 weeks. In April 2009, I came down with flu-like symptoms for a week. In late April or Early May, I was at work and feeling normal when all of a sudden everything went grey and I began having severe dizziness and tinitus.
After few months i had this excruciating pain in my left shoulder, neck and arm.my doctor gave me the pain killer but its ma second day after the pain occurred and i can still feel the pain when i do any moment in ma left hand.
As time passed I tried to deal with it till I had a job where I had to look up while lifting my arms and that would instantly give me the worst neck pain, headaches and dizziness. It would last 2 or 3 days. If I continued to work like that despite the pain my vision would start to blur and I couldn't read things. For days it would feel like one of my nerves was being pulled on my head and necks right side. It would start in my temple then move to the back of the eye.

Please someone help! I've been having pain in my neck, back, shoulder and arm for about 9 months now. I've been in pain management after MRI results came back showing I have 3 mild bulging discs in my cervical spine. I also have a herniated disc in my thoracic spine. I've had many steroid injections, nerve blocks, and even a radio frequency procedure (which was not fun). I've had mild relief from the procedures but it's always back within 3 weeks or so.
I feel like I'm getting the run around. The neck pain I have lived with for years but the shoulder and gripping pain in my upper arm is really ugly. My shoulder hurts when I move it but the gripping pain around my upper arm (about half way between shoulder and elbow) feels live a red hot band squeezing my arm. It causes me to double over in pain and I have very little use of my left arm on most days. The hydrocodone does little to ease the pain.
In cervical related, pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head (as electric sensation)- LHERMITTES SIGN, shoulders, arms, thumbs rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) and stiffness can be intermittent. It will be best that you consult a neurologist who would like to prescribe Pain killers, steroid and muscle relaxants. Hope this helps.
I've been having alot of neck, shoulder and arm pain. My doctor ordered an MRI and the report showed bulging annulus c6-c7 but no focal disc protrusions, mild posterior lateral spurring on the right at c5-c6 with a slight thecal sac encroachment. What does this mean? Will this get better on it's own? I have severe pain that travels down my left arm so bad I can't even use my arm. It's worse when I first get out of bed in the mornings. Is this going to require surgery?
I was in a car accident about 4 years ago and my left shoulder and arm were jammed in the door. Ever since, I seem to get a lot of periods of shoulder and arm pain - sometimes it's pain, sometimes it's aching and others it's like tingly and shooting. Because I tend to worry too much, I always think it's signs of a heart attack and have ended up in the ER twice because of it.
Went to phisio, which helped with the initial horrible pain, but now I still have shoulder and upper shoulder blade pain, and also neck pain, occasionally along with it.There are times when the pain is still felt in my chest as well, although numerous trips to the hospital has assured me that mu heart is fine.(still a very scary feeling!)I also occasionally have a numbness in my left arm. Please help with suggestions!!! I've had an MRI done on my neck, and that was fine too.
I have had no heart problems since other than they occasional palpitation which are benign. About a week ago I started getting pain that started at my neck and shoulder all the way down to my fingers (mostly my middle and ring finger). Anyone know what this may be due to? I have no heart symtoms - no shortness of breath, no chest pain, no dizziness, etc. I had a complete heart checkup (ultrasound, stress-test, etc.) and all came back perfect. I also had an EKG (yeah, I know..
After *numerous*, and I mean NUMEROUS Doctor's visits and chiropractic therapy, we never found a cause and the pain and sensations lasted 5 months! Honestly, I never thought they'd go away and I thought I'd have to live with them. But, lo and behold, other issues came up so my focus was on that stuff, and then the shoulder/arm pains were gone and never came back. Strange. Do you have any fixed positions you must be in with your job?
Along with this pressure in my left temple, I have had neck pain, pain in my left shoulder....and numbness in my face and legs. I have had episodes of anxiety and felt like I was going to pass out. Went to the Dr. after about a week of the same issues non-stop. They gave me a CT scan, ran blood tests.....and everything checked out as fine. The Dr. (who is new to me) suggested I go to the ER...I don't feel like I am having enough issues to warrant an ER visit.
