There was a forward impact too, but the sideways was the one that was worst. After the accident, for several weeks, I had pretty bad neck pain, and had trouble turning my head very far. However, it cleared up for the most part, and I forgot about it. However, lately, i.e. the past three months or so, I've been noticing my neck giving me trouble more and more often.

I was having some neck, back, shoulder, arm and leg pain after and we had went to the Urgent Care the following day. They didn't do x-rays. Basically just said I had strained my neck, shouler, and lower lumbar. Went to follow up with my primary when we got back home and he no longer worked there so I had to take another doctor. He prescribed me Hodrocordone for the pain and Xanax for insomnia and still said I had the strains.
My lower back and hip hurt so much at times now, and my neck as well. I sometimes have pain that radiates from my shoulder to my wrists, and sometimes just my joints in my fingers hurt. I also have radiating pain from my hip down to my knees and sometimes down to my ankles. Sometimes I hurt in the front hip/pelvic area. Lately I have also had pain in my left sidejust under my ribs. The headaches are everyday. Almost migraine status. IDK what to do anymore.
I can't lay on the back of my head/occipital without feeling undue pressure and discomfort. I cannot bend my neck downward without the same pressure and pain after just a few repetitions - like 3. Coughing, sneezing etc. cause pressure and pain. I also have degeneration and injury to the cervical spine where an MRI and CAT scan were done and showed damage. I had nausea for a couple of weeks after the accident and couldn't eat. None has done any testing on my head.

I am a 42 year old female who has always had sore shoulders, I assumed everyone had sore shoulders/neck. I was in a car accident 20 years ago where I rolled a car on a mountain and was in a lot of pain, but being young and stupid didn't tell anyone and never got it checked out. That combined with my sore muscles has had me constantly sore and in some level of pain, which has progressed over the years.
I felt numbness on my right hand in the first few minutes after the accident and then started to feel pain all over my right hand, right arm and right shoulder. The next morning, I felt headache. when the car hit us, my body shifted towards the right, sending my head the opposide side. in doing this, i hurt my shoulder, neck and head. i had a mri of my head done, and there was no damage. Suffered a rotator cuff injury, severe concussion, head pressure and neck pain (whiplash) went to PT for 3 months for my neck and shoulder which did help with range of motion but I've always felt pain, had an MRI on my shoulder which showed fluid and bursitis. we were sitting waiting to turn into our sub divisoin when we were hit by a car in the rear estimated to be going about 45 miles per hour. IT totaled her car and our van; she had two small babies in car seats, what she was doing is really unkown. We had been sitting there for about 30 -45 seconds waiting for cars to go by so that we could turn as I mentioned. She stated that she tried to stop but could not, Eye witnesses stated that she did not stop untill she hit us and sent us rolling.

I was in a car accident about 4 years ago and my left shoulder and arm were jammed in the door. Ever since, I seem to get a lot of periods of shoulder and arm pain - sometimes it's pain, sometimes it's aching and others it's like tingly and shooting. Because I tend to worry too much, I always think it's signs of a heart attack and have ended up in the ER twice because of it.
I feel like I'm getting the run around. The neck pain I have lived with for years but the shoulder and gripping pain in my upper arm is really ugly. My shoulder hurts when I move it but the gripping pain around my upper arm (about half way between shoulder and elbow) feels live a red hot band squeezing my arm. It causes me to double over in pain and I have very little use of my left arm on most days. The hydrocodone does little to ease the pain.
it runs along the thoracic spine but controls the right arm and shoulder and chest. I had neck surgery and damaged this nerve by getting into a car accident while wearing my neck brace. It hurts like the dickens and takes a long time to heal but if the therapy you are receiving is not targeting this and you do have this problem it will never get better. It is a particular little bugger.
The MRI results I have to herniated disks c5-c6 and c7-t1. After all this time I get pain in my neck and left shoulder, to numbness all the way down my left arm and fingers. Just in the last few weeks to a month I have been getting numbness in my right arm and fingers though no real pain in my right shoulder. I am also having weekness in my shoulders, like I can not keep my arms up to long to do anything before I have to put them down again.
I was in a car accident last May. Have 2 Bulging discs in neck. I have severe pain in me neck and back and shoulder. I had a nerve block done on Wednesday, dont feel to bad. Drs saying its not herniated and not pinching any nerves nothing they can do. Doed that mean I have to wait for them to herniate before anything can be done. Nerve block will only last a couple of weeks. On muscle relaxers and migraine meds. never had this problem before dont know what to do.
but still had major pain in hand and shoulder and back. The surgery was over a year ago and have delevoped pain in both side of neck and numbness in hands and horrible headache from the back of my neck up. i have been on major pain killers and viocdin and durgessic patches and lycria for the pin and needles in hand and neck. the insurance has stopped me from getting pain management to get me off of pain killers. And now i have just had another ct scam and mri.
Couple this with bed-rest and attempt to keep his neck/back stable and supine.
The straw the broke the camel's back was when I fell about a year after the accident and had a severe shoulder injury. Within five months I couldn't get out of bed. That was in 1995 and my life has never been the same. I lost it really. I'm just surviving day to day. I take morphine, etc. I am going to start Cymbalta on Friday and I pray to God it helps. Don't give up hope. That's what keep me going along with family. I hope and pray you get the help the support you need. Doris K.
Although there was no pain at first, the neck and shoulder pain did onset after a few days. I was diagnosed with the typical 'cervical sprain'. After 22 visits to physical therapy I can say that my neck is 75% better, although it still hurts when turned a certain way, my range is excellent however. Pain sometimes transfers to my right side above my ear. My main problem now is the pain that developed inmy right shoulder blade...it seems to be getting worse over the last month.
