My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.

Would it be safe to use this unopened bottle as I have read that most medications are really good for 5 years after expiry and drug companies just put the expiry dates on so people will throw them away. My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s).
I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.
Thanks for the reply! Still curious about any micro holes which could start forming after the expiry date? Or that's not the possibility...its just the risk of breakage after the expiry date?
The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....
As you used a condom and as it did not break and as the condom was used with the expiry period, there is no risk of HIV. However are you sure the expiry period of the comdom is in 2014 as you say you got it 3 years ago?

The nebivolol bystolic didnt get the besr reviews from what ive seen. thats just my experiences and what things have worked and not worked for me on an individual basis.

All beta blockers are known to result in some degree of erectile dysfunction in males & decreased libido in females. However, nebivolol is one beta blocker which has got vasodilatory properties & hence can be one of the alternatives of carvedilol. However, you can continue taking lisinopril. it depends how it is stored; unopened and in a cool and dry place. There is usually an expiry date on the vial. Other than that it should be used within a certain time after opening - probably 1 month.
It is a common side effect with Nebicard (Nebivolol) so perhaps it might be worth asking your Doctor to prescribe a different brand.
i took it for about 14 mths for svt ,and i found it to be ok ,there are better ones for svt ,like neiblet{nebivolol} which is a more selective for the heart ,but inderal is known to be good for migraine as well...for the first few weeks just watch standing up quick and things like that ,it is better started on a low dose and moved up as needed,,but apart from that it seems to be well tolerated by most.
