Avatar n tn How effective are products such as Thryocare, MaxGXL for weight loss and Hypothyroidism?
Avatar f tn I had the same thing. If you eat a little in the morning like half an orange or an apple you get the natural sugar from the fruit and it isn't going to effect your weight loss if you still want to loose weight rapidly. I went through not eating but I played sports so I had to have energy so this is what helped me the most.
1089270 tn?1257174234 You might also talk to your doctor about checking for other medical issues that cause weight gain, such as thyroid issues, insulin resistance, PCOS, etc. I have thyroid issues and when my thyroid quit working is why I gained weight, not because of my hysterectomy. Whatever the cause, we hope you will stay tuned in to our community and let us know your progress.
Avatar m tn I have discontinued the use of the meds for about a month or 2. I am concerned about weight loss /weight gain and other health issues. I have been told that you cannot live without a thyroid or the replacement meds. Was wondering if anyone had luck with the natural herbs.

Avatar f tn Yep...the weight issue..or rather "I feel fatter" syndrome that most docs don't ack. I haven't been able to figure it out either. One endo said this type of cancer can make us insulin resistant...so that could be the theory? I came into this cancer healthy and continue to be healthy/exercise (but it is now lots of work) but can't reach that athletic look I had. It's been 2 years. WEight is maybe 5 lbs more.
Avatar f tn It certainly is the best chewable dietary supplement. This weight loss chewable is also helps in improving thyroid function.
Avatar n tn I have been eating healthy, lots of veggies, and limiting my calories to about 1200 per day. I do a weight loss routine on my treadmill for 30 minutes per day burning @200 calories at least 4-5 times per week. I weigh 173 pounds, which is up 3 pounds from when I started. My PCP felt my Prozac, which I take for chronis pain, may be the culprit, but I was weaned off of it about 3 weeks ago.
Avatar m tn I need some help to understand the medication prescribed to my mother due to her high cholesterol (for last 2 years). Patient information: 60 years old, Female, 5 ft height, 81 lb weight. I am giving the complete history below but this is the issue in nutshell "Is Levothyroxine right medication for high cholesterol, when the thyroid results (serum T3, T4, TSH) are normal ?

Avatar m tn d strongly suggest that you ask your doctor to test you for the thyroid antibodies, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOab) and Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TGab) to confirm/rule out Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease, in which the body sees the thyroid as foreign, and produces antibodies to destroy it.
Avatar f tn If so has it helped in weight loss? I work out so very hard and go to the gym twice a day, The doctor says until my metabolism and thyroid get on track my weight won't change. I have been doing some research on cytomel and am thinking of asking my Dr. if I can try it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn With that being said, I was curious if it is common for people to be prescribed a weight loss drug to help the weight loss process. If not, what else can I do??? I'm in the process of finding a new doctor at the moment so I would like to go into an office knowing a little more.
393685 tn?1425812522 answer for weight loss since our thyroids pooh-poohed us, but I have chosen to take a more sensible way to achieving weight loss. For best results on achieving weight lose after becoming hypothyroid I follow the rules of Getting optimal on your thyroid medication naturally - so increase of metobolism can be achieved. Check your adrenal function. Make sure all is running right there too. Stay clear from processed food - enriched flour - and sugar products.
Avatar m tn If your thyroid levels aren't right for you, you will have a hard time losing weight. You may still be hypo, even if your lab reports show your levels to be "in range". You may need an adjustment in your medication. Can you post your most recent lab results, including TSH, Free T3 and Free T4, along with reference ranges listed on your lab report? Reference ranges are lab specific, so must come from your own report.
Avatar f tn Yes please talk to your dr, there are many things that could cause rapid or excessive weight loss and some of them can be serious. In addition to Thyroid and GI testing maybe ask about diabetes. It seems odd, but it can cause weight loss.
Avatar f tn No doctors ever diagnosed thyroid since this persons mother used to have blod clots, weight loss, brain fog, weakness, underweight.Even this persons sibling at 21 has no periods regularly. From birth there were few other symptoms of this person like short stature, squint, small hands, legs, swelling like lower body, large forehead(all operated corrected stature, eyes so not noticeable except weight gain on lower belly).
Avatar f tn I agree with Kittygurlx3 you can follow natural and healthy diet for Great Weight Loss
5628691 tn?1402506562 I mention these things, because I went from 115 pounds to 140 in less than 3 months and struggled with my weight for over a year, before finally being diagnosed with hypothyroidism and being started on replacement thyroid hormone. I was keeping my weight steady and even managing to lose a few pounds, when all of a sudden, it skyrocketed again and after struggling with it for nearly another year, I was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance.
Avatar f tn BTW... I am not thinking that it should magically disappear. I am one who will work at it. If only I could find some energy to do so! ;-) I would just like to hear from some people who HAVE worked at it and HAVE gotten some results. I am 5'2" at 177 lbs. I want to be down to 140, which is a healthy weight for someone my height. I know I am never going to be 125 again. :-( but I would like to think that I can get back some of the girlish figure I once had!!! ????
Avatar f tn At 15, your body is not fully developed, so crash/fad diets are the worst thing you can do. You simply have to eat healthy - plenty of veggies, lean protein, etc. You should ask to have your thyroid tested to make sure it's working properly. Iron is necessary for proper thyroid function and your thyroid controls metabolism. If you're deficient in iron, you may also be deficient in thyroid hormones. Are you making sure you're getting adequate exercise?
