Common Questions and Answers about Natural hormone therapy vitamins

hormone

Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar m tn After watching this episode, I promptly made an appointment with my family doctor to discuss other HRT options. I stopped taking my Premarin, and upon my request for a safer or natural hormone, she prescribed estradiol .05 once a week patch, just recently (last week) added Prometrium, 200 mg. daily. My health/sanity issues have not changed.
Avatar f tn Within 5yrs I had 2 kinds of arthritis and hyperthyroidism and have been battling health problems ever since. Take your hormones...or at least natural vitamins and herbs that will directly keep your hormone levels up or you may regret it!

1042487 tn?1275279899 Hello everyone, please take a moment in your life to read this information. There's a subject that unfortunately people are unaware or don't take it seriously that should be talked more often and a lifestyle change that should be done in correlation with traditional medicine approach and therapy. Let me talk to you about the epidemic malnutrition and how it can be the underlying cause of many diseases.
Avatar f tn I am 74 years old and have been on Hormone Therapy for 24 years. My new doctor had advised me that she will not continue my prescription because she in uncomfortable to prescribe to a woman over 65 years of age. I think that is my decision to make.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed at age 49 in May, 2007 with Stage II, 3 nodes positive. I had 4 rounds of A/C and 4 rounds of Taxol followed by 33 rounds of radiation. My doctor now wants to put me on hormone therapy. I am premenopausal but haven't gotten my period since July due to chemo. She won't put me on Tamoxifin because of a past history of TIA several years ago. She said I would be at too high a risk for stroke on it.
Avatar f tn I have been told from the start that with a lumpectomy I would need radiation. I found out later about the hormone therapy. I want to know if this is standard of care for my situation. I had a 1cm lump including DCIS and ILC. My margins were 6mm, 1cm, 5cm, 6cm. The ILC was in a linear pattern and low nuclear grade. 4 of 4 nodes were negative for cancer. I am ER+ 100% and PR+ 90%. I am HER2 negative. I was told my cancer was caught very early and I should be OK.
Avatar m tn Hi sorry hormone therapy will not help at all , there are no pills or cream to make your penis any bigger , take care ,
Avatar f tn A couple of members here, including myself, watched Robin McGraw yesterday speak about bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Did you know that women as young as their teens can have hormonal imbalances ? And that you can show signs of perimenopause in your 20s... feel horrible and be misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia ? And yet the medical field has failed us again on this other issue.
Avatar f tn And as stated above if you are low on hormone, the ONLY way to increase it is to add hormone in. And since you cannot get actual hormone without a prescription, I'm afraid the options are limited. That being said. Many of the symptoms of hypo are also common to being deficient in some other vitamins and minerals. And THAT is something you can do about.
Avatar m tn Medications include oral, intramuscular and transdermal agents, but results vary a lot. Before you start any medication, I suggest you try a natural approach: physical exercise + DHEA, vitamins C,D, B, E and fish oil. Make sure you're not taking any meds that may influence your hormone levels, e.g. finasteride (brand names Propecia, Proscar) for male pattern baldness. Always consult your doctor before you decide to try any new treatment or natural supplement. Good luck!

Avatar f tn The doc told me that if at least 1 ovary was left in, there would be no need for hormone replacement therapy. But I had cysts on both and lots of scar tissue. So leaving one in was not a option. The ovaries are where your hormones come from. If you have 1 or even both, and are not comfortable by now, you should probably talk to your doc. This could just be stress from worrying about there being something wrong. You you get to feeling better soon. God Bless!
Avatar f tn This is called ACES therapy and is a very good combination of vitamins and nutrients. Vitamins A, C and E are called antioxidants. They are useful to combat free- radical damage at the cellular level. Vitamin E, in particular, improves circulation and reduces muscle pain. Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !
Business woman2 Any type of hormone added or taken away can mess up the natural cycle of things. And unless a doctor tells you that you specifically need progesterone as you are deficient in it, I would not risk make your ability to conceive even more off track by doing that on your own. The biggest thing for getting pregnant is timing. Track your cycle. Day one of your period is day one of your cycle.
Avatar f tn Anyone tried niacin B3 therapy, or know of any success stories with natural treatments for schizo-affective disorder?
Avatar f tn There is no proof that an imbalance of brain chemistry causes anxiety or depression or anything else. So forget that route. It's also very unlikely that natural hormone treatment would cause this kind of problem, depending on what you mean by natural hormone treatment. There are herbal treatments, and then there are treatments synthetically manufactured by an ingredient in the Mexican wild yam. These were the original hormone treatments.
1462810 tn?1327360449 t natural to the human body. So all those hormone prescriptions were based on pregnant female horse urine... now they're trying to enter the bio-identical hormone market by transmuting natural substances (wild yams, for instance) into molecules identical to horse homones -- in other words, they'll call them "natural" (not "bio-identical") and continue to sell their cancer-causing poison. Interesting, huh?
