Avatar f tn Well I havent gone through menopause yet, but I did see a womens health doctor and she tested all my hormone levels and said I was in pre menopause, I was only 31 at the time, she wanted to start me on hormone replacement therapy, she said it would help with my anxiety so much, I didnt want to start HRT at such a young age, and you always hear about women that get cancer with hormone Replacement so I was scared as well. So here I am still dealing with anxiety.
Avatar f tn Women who have a healthy hormone balance tend to enjoy their lives the most. Hormone fluctuations can result in several problems such as perimenopausal difficulties, premenstrual syndrome, mood swings, fibroids, heart disease, breast cancer, and ovarian cysts. Usually, women don’t completely meet what their bodies need—food and exercise to reduce stress and feel better. Diet, nutrition, and workout are some of the common lifestyle changes that can help women restore hormone balance.
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing low testosterone myself and I have read a great deal on the importance of testosterone in the male. My male dog is fixed. He is 3 years old and seems very healthy. But i've begun to worry about his testosterone levels and how it effects his health. Is there a natural way to support my dogs testosterone levels. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn There is no proof that an imbalance of brain chemistry causes anxiety or depression or anything else. So forget that route. It's also very unlikely that natural hormone treatment would cause this kind of problem, depending on what you mean by natural hormone treatment. There are herbal treatments, and then there are treatments synthetically manufactured by an ingredient in the Mexican wild yam. These were the original hormone treatments.
Avatar f tn At least a month after having it removed. What you are looking for is your natural cycle and your natural hormone levels, not assisted by medical science.

Avatar f tn By nature, birth control works by changing the hormone balance in your body. I believe in most cases it makes your body think you're pregnant so that you won't get pregnant. It's probably this change in hormone balance that's causing this. There are 2 possibilities: it could be that over time your body will adjust & you won't feel so sexually charged. Some women have a drop in their desire when on the pill. The other possibility is you could ask your Dr.
Avatar n tn t have anxiety problems, but she gets very emotional and sensitive before her periods. Many women do. You can try to balance this with natural hormone balancers, or just accept it and demystify it.

Avatar n tn Hi to cure my acne and hair growth my dermatologist recommends to use a hormone pill (sponalactaid i think?) to reduce my high testoterone level. My mother had breast cancer because of hormone pills so I refuse to take it. Instead, I researched ways to lower testosterone "naturally" and came across an herbal supplement called Macafem which claims to affect the pituatry gland to make the hormones produced more "balanced" Anyone heard of this and is this true?
628735 tn?1273875777 • Vitex (Chasteberry) supports hormone balance and normal ovulation frequency. In clinical trials, women with fertility disorders benefited from vitex agnus castus, with more pregnancies then placebo groups. For women who are trying to conceive, hormonal balance is important for regular ovulation, for the maturation of the ovarian follicle and the healthy development of reproductive tissues in the uterus (to prepare for implantation of the egg).
Avatar f tn Hair loss may also occur if male or female hormones are out of balance. If it is hormone-related, correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss. Some medications such as anticoagulants, gout medicines, chemotherapy, vitamin A, birth control pills and antidepressants may also cause hair loss. It is best that you have this evaluated for proper diagnosis and management. Treatment usually depends on the underlying cause. Take care and keep us posted.

Avatar f tn I was 35 years old. My GP put me straight onto hormone replacement tablets - they were called solo. After 6 years I decided to stop taking them because of the dangers of hrt that I had read about. I have suffered with depression in the past but up until approx 2 years ago (when I stopped taking solo) had been ok and working. Over the last two years my moods have swung from one extreme to another. Happiness to extreme lows.
Avatar f tn If you did want to still have children, there are things you can do to improve your hormone balance which is usually the number one reason why women have trouble at our age. One very effective thing is acupuncture. It's not cheap but in just a few months can return your hormone balance to where it should be. It can help alleviate the symptoms of perimenopause even if you didn't want to have kids. There are lots of supplements that can help with hormone balance, too.
Avatar f tn My own opinion, and I'm not the doc, is that hormonal problems are best treated by natural medicine. We've all seen what allopathic medicine has done to women over the years. You're not sick, you have a hormonal imbalance that is quite natural, and there are quite natural ways to try to deal with it that are far less intense on the body than what doctors will do. And using an antidepressant to treat a hormonal problem is like treating a prostate problem with anti-histamines.
Avatar f tn There are many treatments available to help control or eliminate goiter issues - some can be solved with natural substances - but - you do need to work with a doctor to find that balance.
