1112541 tn?1286311213 Charliegirl: So glad to hear that your doctor is open to alternative remedies. There are so many that are very closed-minded, and refuse to even consider alternatives to HRT or other prescription meds. Please keep us updated! SassyLassie: You are so right about taking progestins to "oppose" any estrogens that we are taking - especially for those of us who haven't had a hysterectomy.
1340383 tn?1309990914 I am trying to explore natural remedies for healing ovarian cysts..I have one (2.6 cm by 3.4 cm) on my left ovary and my Dr is suggesting birth control pills.. anyone heard of any herbs or food items to shrink cysts? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Your estrogen levels are way too high. Total estrogen normal reference range: Day 1 - 10: 61 - 394pg/mL, Day 11–20: 122–437 pg/mL; Day 21–30: 156–350 pg/mL. High estrogen leads to excessive production of thyroid binding globulin (TBG). Although there are enough thyroid hormones in the blood, they are not taken up by the body's cells as they are inactivated by TBG. In other words, thyroid labs are in range but you have signs of low thyroid function.

Avatar n tn t have kids and you r trying to protect yourself from getting pregnant) but when I stopped hrt and balanced out hormones with progesterone (natural and some other hormones excluding estrogen) lost 30lbs..I failed to mention I had already been exercsing 20 yrs, 2 hours a day, eating right and still no weight loss then. However, I was able to stop diabetes meds as I eat 5 times a day, no sugar imbalances, no hormone imbalances, exercise still and I now weigh 120 lbs since 2003....

Avatar n tn I was told that I could NOT take over the counter supplements for menopausal symptoms. They believe that my masses were estrogen receptive...that means no soy, no black cohash, etc as they all "mimic" estrogen.
Avatar m tn //www.healthline.com/health/low-testosterone/anti-estrogen-diet-men It's all that healthy stuff, not surprising. It's got red grapes on it though which I personally like.
Avatar n tn I think hot flushes should be given to men! ;-P I suffered greatly with hot flushes but, am going through some kind of imbalance somewhere, somehow and am seeking out help from a gynecologist for it. I've also had the weight gain...right around the mid-section. Grrrrrr. I think that most of us will say that the hot flushes and the weight gain are pretty annoying to say the least. Estrogen can cause weight gain but, can help with the hot flushes some.
Avatar n tn It is so hard for a doctor where i live to give me a prescription for that. They dont agree with it, and i would prefer that over BC.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried natural progesterone cream for treatment of fibromyalgia?? I was diagnosed with fibro. a year ago and my symptoms have gotten worse and worse since then. I sought the care of a certified natural healthcare practitioner for fibro. after no luck with my rheumatologist and was then diagnosed with a severe progesterone deficiency. My natural healthcare practitioner said fibro. is linked to or even caused by a progesterone deficiency. I was having all the symptoms of fibro.

Avatar m tn (just as testosterone is extremely important for women). Not enough estrogen and men will not build bone. TO much however and it is not good. Some testosterone you take is converted into estrogen. Most people if they have a problem tend to have too high of estrogen and need to take Arimidex to control it. That is itself a trial and error experiment.
Avatar m tn Women with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection usually have lower viral loads than men, reducing their risk for liver cancer. There are two androgen-responsive elements in the HBV enhancer I, which contribute to higher viral titers in men. We investigated whether and how estrogen signaling interacts affects progression of HBV infection.

Avatar f tn It is still very tough and yes, I wish men could remotely understand what this is like. Most men cry over a cold, they have no idea what this is like. Hang in there and know you are not alone.
Avatar n tn I know some women who swear by wild yam cream. Maybe you could check a book on natural remedies -- I think I did see one specifically about natural remedies for menopause symptoms a while back. It kind of was tough to read (who wants to believe these things are really going to happen?) but it seems like I remember it talked about foods and supplements and stuff.
1325193 tn?1450127436 Worse yet, my estrogen was only 15 on a range of 25 to 55. Yes, men need estrogen too. Both of these numbers combined is a recipe for anxiety. How did it get that low?? One of the main causes of men under 65 for low t is opiate abuse and use. Now it all finally made sense. Why i started having anxiety before I even quit them, why it's been almost 9 months and still have the same anxiety i did from day one.
200220 tn?1361951554 Dr. Lupus: My holistic doctor gave me natural progesterone cream to use to help me stabilize my moods and pick up the free estrogen that is floating in my body. My question to you is it dangerous to use with taking levothyroxine 37.5 with having hashimotor disease. My doctor is an MD also and seem to be very knowledgeable about the thyroid along with helping me with celiac disease. What is your experience with this natural product.
Avatar m tn However, this has caused a lot of health issues for consumers—especially men. Men who weren’t expecting to be exposed to hormones from foods like beef and chicken have found themselves negatively impacted. In particular, hormones added to meats and poultries can inhibit testosterone production while encouraging the production of estrogen, which is the female hormone. Elevated levels of estrogen in men cause them to take on more feminine characteristics.
Avatar f tn Should I get treated for the estrogen or should they level out once my thyroid is fixed? I am taking natural supplements for my adrenals and might want to try HC but I have heard not so good stories about it. Are there natural adrenal meds or how should I go abouts treating it? I finally feel abit better but I don't want to move cause moving equals hot flashes/sweating.
Avatar f tn I had a natural FET today and the blood work from this morning showed my estrogen level was 106. My doctor told me to tAke four estrogen patches every other day plus 2mg estradiol tablet every day to increase my estrogen. He said it should be 300. Esteogen is counter indicated for pregnancy- causes birth defects in children- says right on the label to not take whole pregnant! Does anyone know what their estrogen level was on day of transfer and did doctor recommend taking estrogen?
Avatar n tn I have just been prescribed vaginal estrogen cream to relieve some symptoms that I've had. (irriatated feeling, cramps, pinching feeling) Does anyone have any feedback on this cream? Kind of concerned as breast cancer runs in my family and not sure about using this cream. Has anyone tried anything more natural?
Avatar n tn I have never tried natural hormones or synthetic hormones, and I'm going through menopause now. I experience extreme irritability, but not anxiety in particular. Because of the potential side-effects of any hormone "bioidentical" or otherwise I choose to just take the natural route. I know that physicians would disagree with my choice, but for me personally, I just think that when the body says "I'm on a new journey" we should listen to what our bodies say.
