Common Questions and Answers about Natural cold remedies during pregnancy

cold

951946 tn?1263565383 cold medications to take during pregnancy. My midwife gave me a list of meds that does include Tylenol, Tylenol Sinus and Tylenol PM, but what I'd like to take is Tylenol Cold/Congestion. (Well, I'd rather not take anything but this miserable head cold is keeping me up all night... if I lie down, my sinuses immediately plug up...) I'm doing all the natural remedies and they are working ok. Vicks Vaporub is amazing!
Avatar f tn Hello im on my 3 months pregnancy, is there any natural remedies for acne because ive started 2 developed previously. Thanks 4 d help.
Avatar f tn Tylenol and cough drops are fine. So is Vick's. Natural remedies are a cool mist humidifier, warm salt water gargle, hot tea with honey and lemon, steam from the hot shower, saline nasal spray. Feel better soon!
Avatar f tn m allergic to cold medicine, so I always use natural remedies. As soon as I feel a cold coming on, I double my Vitamin C. I also steam fresh mint leaves for congestion and make and my own vitamin water using mint leaves, fresh cut lemons and limes. I can usually kick a cold within 2-3 days using these remedies. Good luck and feel better!
Avatar f tn s not really anything you can take. Paracetamol is the only safe thing to take during pregnancy. If you want to get rid of any congestion etc then you would need to try more 'natural' remedies such as menthal crystals etc. These you dissolve in boiling water in sit with the bowl and a towel over your head. You could also try vapour rubs and some other things to help ease congestion.
6807839 tn?1386436725 How far along are you? Congestion and allergy/cold like symptoms are common during pregnancy and unfortunately if it is not a cold, you will just have to deal with the congestion. I started getting congestion when I found out I was pregnant and am STILL dealing with it. The doctor said it was rhinitis and that chances were it wouldn't go away until I gave birth.... So I have been dealing with it for about 7, almost 8 months of it and nothing has helped me.
Avatar f tn In my last pregnancy my Dr recommended a high dose of vitamin C for 2-3 days. 2000-3000mg each day to boost the immune system.I had a cold hang around for four months of pregnancy, and it helped my body recover finally! your body pees out what it can't absorb so it's safe, but don't do it for more than 4 days, you can end up with a sore tongue /mouth.
Avatar f tn Any natural home remedies to get rid of a stuffy/congested nose??!! This is driving me crazy!!
Avatar f tn Unless you have a fever over 100, I would just use OTC and natural remedies. Keep an eye on it and if you develop a higher fever, the sore throat persists more than three days or you develop flu like symptoms- then call your pcp.
Avatar f tn I decided to take natural home remedies. I would make teas with lemon and honey. Also eating garlic is good, not really pleasant but it works. Google cold home remedies and they can properly tell you the steps. Be patient they work. I had a nasty cough with mucus and didn't want to take medicine to be safe.
Avatar f tn I heard you can take Robitussin DM when you're pregnant.
Avatar f tn Anyone have any natural remedies I can use to get rid of a cold? I'm going crazy!
Avatar f tn t take it I have post nasal drip which drains into my stomach and makes me nauseous. Has anyone taken this before during pregnancy and had a healthy baby? And if you didn't take loratadine but have allergies (mine is to my cats, dust mites and we don't allow the cats in our bedroom) what did you do to manage ur allergysymtoms while pregnant? thanks.
Avatar f tn U can take sudafed.... Go the the web site www.colic.com....
Avatar f tn Thanks! Also if it doesn't get better with the over the counter stuff, talk to your doctor cause there are antibiotics you can take like the Z-pack. I never get sick except for when I'm pregnant apparently! Lol this is my third cold during this pregnancy, but this one is mild compared to the other two I had earlier in the pregnancy.
Avatar n tn For a lot of women, pregnancy and hormonal changes do result in increased anxiety. I'm sorry you are suffering this! Do talk to your doctor. Natural ways to help are to make sure you are getting extra rest if possible, eating right, exercise (which releases our body's natural 'happy chemical' -- most women in pregnancy can exercise but, of course, ask your doctor), etc. Talking to someone can really help with anxiety.
Avatar f tn I was told no medication on the first trimester unless really needed i say try natural remedies cold compress naps hydrate before taking anything, bt ask ur ok
Avatar f tn Firstly bipolar is psychiatric even if it is not a psychotic disorder. I would also say a regular doctor would know far less about how to treat it then a psychiatrist just like any other specialist. Bipolar is not just moodswings. It can affect a person's whole emotional state to the point where during depressive episodes a person has suicidal ideations and there is a loss of judgment that can affect a person's sense of being rational.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies I ham 7 weeks pregnant and have recently come down with a cold in the last few days. Can having a flu/cold cause any halm to my baby/pregnancy? Also do you have any advice to how I can get rid of it??
Avatar f tn My cough seems to be getting worse :/ about 7 wks anybody know some natural remedies? Also for indegestion tums didn't work so most likely have to get a prescription from my OBGYN. Anybody else having all these health probs during their first trimester???
666089 tn?1260520261 You could always go to a health food store and they will be able to direct you as to what is safe during pregnancy and give you natural remedies as well. Oh, and you will not hurt the baby by coughing. He/she is tucked away in a very safe place. =) Hope you feel better soon!!!
