Nasonex vs claritin

Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex vs claritin

nasonex

Avatar f tn ) ) I would suggest that you try Zyrtec instead of the claritin. It is a stronger medicine. My allergist says that claritin might as well be a water pill for all it does for you. It also doesn't have the drowzy side effects you mentioned with the other. Even the generic is more expensive than the others though. I would also recommend sinus rinses if you aren't doing them already.
Avatar f tn I had finished all the meds so I bought some more Mucinex and started that again. In another 2 days I was still had post nasal drep so I started Claritin. I have been taking the Mucinex and Claritin for a week now and still can't get rid of the post nasal drip. I sleep with a humidifier on and do the "steam breathing" about 1-2 times a day. I am worse in the morning and evening, but I still have the post nasal drip. I live in a very hot, dry area.
Avatar f tn Make caldo soup (: the help me the next day and I was sufferings from.allergy for.a.
Avatar n tn After seeing a doctor i was prescribed medicine for bronchitis and nasonex. The nasonex takes care of the stuffy nose and i take claritin at nights so i dont wake up with symptoms, however i still have the cough and mucus (apparently it wasn't bronchitis). I am currently on medicine for a sinus infection. could a sinus infection be the cause of the wheezing? also i have began to develop allergy's to foods but have not been tested for dust, pollen, etc.
Avatar n tn I am tired of it and feel that it will eventually diminish my hearing. I am always asking people to repeat. I have been to 2 ENT, and no help. Taken Nasonex, claritin, sudafed but no help. Please advice as to what might help???
1402935 tn?1281958699 I am always congested it seems and have trouble breathing through my nose. Nasonex helps some. I was prescribed symbocort because when i get real bad I can't breath through my mouth either. I was told it may be allergies. Was given Zyrtec. My sinus mucus swelled up so bad i could hardly breath and my face turned bright red. I did not take it again after that. I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose.
633143 tn?1262133535 I have taken everything that my doctors have recommended and everything that they haven’t – Mucinex, Sudafed, Benadryl, Claritin, Tylenol Sinus, etc, etc. Antihistamines help a little but only for a few hours, and because of my job I can’t afford to be tired or loopy during the day. Mucinex has been working the best (taking it every night before bed), but it’s not taking it away. I’m still waking up with the draining and feeling very sick to my stomach.
Avatar f tn I can however use just a steroid inhaler along with the Nasonex nose spray, it seemed to work very well for me. Should I try staying with this or try Singular? I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I LOVE breathing better !! I will be needing most of this daily. Thank you for your time !!
Avatar n tn He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on. Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
Avatar f tn She doesn't snore, but she does suffer from allergies. She's on Claritin and Nasonex and Benadryl as needed. The Benadryl is at night because it makes her absolutely horrid and wicked mean. She's a restless sleeper though, like her father. She can toss and roll and spread out and move from one end of the bed to the next all night long. I don't know if she's just restless (like I said, her father is and I was as a child) or if it's something else.
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar n tn Hi, Thanks for your response. I already had a Sinus CT scan done a few months ago that showed "mild" mucus thickening of maxillary sinus and deviated septum. My ENT said this was virtually negligible, but he put me on 2 weeks of antibiotics (Azythromycin) anyways, in case i had a bacterial infection. None of this helped my symptoms.
Avatar n tn I had never had that kind of pressure in my head, and it only felt that way when I would lay down and stand up. I was prescribed Nasonex and OTC Claritin, and so far it seems to be working. I still feel the pressure, but it has been slowly going away. Good luck KatiJ!
531684 tn?1216745984 t even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex! Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.
Avatar f tn For instance the generic of claritin and some heart and blood pressure drugs makes them affordable and they work fine. My husband gets generics of a lot of his meds and he does very well. Right now, I am slowly losing weight. It has been only a month so I am not up to full speed. But I feel in the last 2 days I have turned a corner and feel more like my old self. GOTO ANOTHER DRUGSTORE!! That is how you will get the generic from another lab.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
Avatar n tn and allergic to cats, dust, mold and pollen, . In the summer of 2008 he was on daily doses of Singulair, Claritin, Qvar, and Rhinocort. Concerned over this amount of medication for someone this young I sought a second opinion. That doctor took him off all the medications and he was fine with no adverse reactions but occasionly felt he need an albuterol inhaler.
276730 tn?1327962946 Hi Charm, Claritin is a NON-DROWSY anti-histamine -- it won't put you to sleep like benadryl !! It won't keep you awake either -- I've taken it at bedtime because of allergy stuff and have slept just fine... There is a cheaper generic version of Claritin too... I think it's called loratadine... Like nygirl, I too really like the anti-histamine creams -- those seem to work much more quickly than the pills for me anyway...

Avatar f tn I'm also having the same problem. I got covid 5 weeks ago and recovered within 8 days but the post nasal drip is still lingering with minor one sided stuffy nose on and off. The post nasal drip seems like it drips less at times and more other times so it is also on and off but doesn't seem to go away. When there is a lot I would cough and sometimes it would coat my throat or get stuck there and I have to clear my throat constantly or try to hack it up by coughing.
