After over 5 yr's of constant mucus brought on after a bad sinus infection, its like dejavu I'm trying to get rid of another sinus infec. Recently I caught a very bad "cold" or bacterial or viral infec. I have been on antibiotics and I have gotten some changes in the amount of Green and discolored mucus. I just can't shake this it is confusing for me since the antibiotic's do help while I'm on them, but when stopped it comes back full force.
i took him off the nasonex. i wasnt sure about the viral pathology but he was tested when he was little for diabetes.neg. i had already looked into rocky mountain and his symptoms dont match up.he was at the eye doctor when this all started because of the headaches. they found nothing but a little allergy reaction to something. the ear nose throat doctor was the one who put him on the nasonex, every thing else checked out with him too.
I have been on prednisone, nasonex, singular, various inhallers etc etc. I would like to finally get a firm diagnosis and therapeutic approach to handling the symptoms. Would an allergist or pulmonologist be the way to go?
sinus CT scan is normal too. Is this viral is it okay to take several months for cough to go away. I have no wheezing or asthma history. could this be lung infection? Please help.
But my question is should I go back to taking the nasonex? Was it a good thing that the nasonex made it louder because maybe it was just cleaning my ear out from the fluid, since it stopped ringing completely later that night which it hasnt done all week. But I dont know because it was a lot more irritating that night then ever! When I got out of the hot shower. I'm starting to think maybe the hot shower could be whats really irritating it more.

Hi, welcome to the forum, from your history it suggests that infection is persistent and is associated with the allergy. Firstly the cause has to be found out and you are already on standard mode of treatment.
If you temperature keeps fluctuating, going up and down, you may have an infection which may be a bacterial or a viral one. It is still worth making an appointment to see your doctor to check you out. If the doctor feels it is a bacterial infection, you will get prescribed with an antibiotic.

For roughly the last 2 months I been told by a Dr that I was fighting a viral infection all the flu symptoms went away besides my 2 mouth ulcers and diarrhea. at first the Dr said don't worry about it but how can i not if its been 2 months and still their... I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
After seeing a doctor i was prescribed medicine for bronchitis and nasonex. The nasonex takes care of the stuffy nose and i take claritin at nights so i dont wake up with symptoms, however i still have the cough and mucus (apparently it wasn't bronchitis). I am currently on medicine for a sinus infection.
could a sinus infection be the cause of the wheezing?
also i have began to develop allergy's to foods but have not been tested for dust, pollen, etc.
All of those problems could be symptoms of a sinus infection in your upper sinuses. Only a doctor can make a diagnosis. If it is diagnosed as a bacterial infection, and you are prescribed antibiotics, and they do not work, as is sometimes the case, then here is an alternate treatment that is extremely effective against viral, bacterial, and some fungal infections.

I have also been on a regimen of Nasonex and other sorts of nasal sprays that you need a prescription for. Once again, I saw temporary relief only to have the symptoms return.
This summer (and now September) of 2008 has been really bad. (I lived in Japan from July 2006 to May 2008, and for some reason I had few allergic symptoms there). think I must be going crazy. After having throat/ear issues for over a month, I went to the doctor 10 days ago. He said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and there was inflammation. Started on Rhinochort in October-went to Nasonex, it worked better. Tried to discontinue medications in Feb and he had immediate symptoms again - returned to it. For the most part, both medications have resolved his symptoms. I did notice over the last year he has been moodier/yells at us/crys over little things - but attributed to his age.
