Nasonex sinus infection

Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex sinus infection

nasonex

Avatar n tn This explains your jaw pain, dizziness and sinus pressure although you may also have an infection and I hope this has been ruled out. Your depression and anxiety may be stemming from all of this or since you've suffered with depression before...this may have triggered it again. I would address the sinus issue and see if you feel better and if not you may want to talk to someone about your anxiety and depression. Get a second opinion of the nasal teeth and go from there.

29837 tn?1414534648 I've had sinus problems for years. Post nasal drip for one. I'm a professional singer and it's been tormenting me for years. Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar n tn You most likely have a sinus infection that blocks the path to your olfactories. I used to lose my smell when i had chronic sinus problems. In fact, it made me desperate enough to try the technique which became ultimately successful in curing all of my sinus problems forever. Solutions: Go to ENT, get antibiotics, see if that works or, get a Neilmed Sinus Rinse at the drugstore, which has a better chance of working or, go to my journal and try a Flip Turn Sinus Flush.
Avatar n tn I've had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
Avatar m tn HELP! Sore throad for 3 weeks. Been treated for sinus infection with antibiotics, Nasonex, sinus rinses, Zyrtec, store brand mucinex. Run humidifier at night and gargle with salt water. Desperate!
Avatar n tn I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?
519035 tn?1348275773 I started with a bloody nose maybe in middle of Feburary. I felt a little congested but not bad. By the end of Feb I broke out with the worst sinus infection in my life! I was draining everywhere. Heres how it started the day before I got sick I was eating dinner and felt as tho I got something caught in my throat. I went to the doc the following day and she said ooh its something viral. The following day I had nothing but drainage from head to ears to nose.
Avatar n tn Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of sinusitis or chronic sinusitis(>30 days). First of all, the diagnosis of sinusitis or sinus infection has to be confirmed. This can be done through transillumination (passing light through the sinuses) or Sinus X-rays or CAT scan of sinuses. Treatment of sinusitis involves Oral antibiotics (usually 10 to 14 days). They are to be taken on prescription.

Avatar f tn The last few episodes progressed from scratchy throat to full blown ear/sinus infection and bronchitis in 3 days. The usual treatment plan is antibiotics, inhaler (with steroids), nasal spray (like Nasonex). I have been continuing the inhaler and nasal spray between episodes as well. The sinus/chest x-rays have come back with nothing that the doctor was concerned about. I like my doctor, but I think it's time for another opinion or a specialist. I'm not even sure where to start. ENT?
Avatar n tn So, therapy for this lies in treating the underlying sinusitis. If it is a chronic sinus infection, 4-6 weeks of antibiotics are pretty standard in addition to nasal steroid sprays, oral steroids, and salt water irrigations of the sinuses. If this fails to solve the problem, sinus surgery is usually recommended. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn ve never been diagnosed with allergies, they can suddenly begin at any age. You may also have a sinus infection which would require antibiotics. Lying down will cause our sinues to drain and could be increasing the sensation of squeezing pressure in your throat. If you are also having headaches and any dizziness, those are indications of an infection. Bottom line is that you should see an ENT for a correct diagnosis and treatment.

Avatar f tn After over 5 yr's of constant mucus brought on after a bad sinus infection, its like dejavu I'm trying to get rid of another sinus infec. Recently I caught a very bad "cold" or bacterial or viral infec. I have been on antibiotics and I have gotten some changes in the amount of Green and discolored mucus. I just can't shake this it is confusing for me since the antibiotic's do help while I'm on them, but when stopped it comes back full force.
Avatar n tn He never mentioned sinus infection. I have the Nasonex which I am going to try today, he said that should help to prevent any sinus infections. I'm thinking of getting the surgery though just to get it over with. I heard it wasn't that bad.
Avatar f tn In May, I went to the doctor - he said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and he thought it was being caused by a sinus infection. He prescribed antibiotics (Z-Pak) and Nasonex. At the time I was having some congestion, ear pain/ache at random times and when I would chew/open my mouth. After taking the antibiotics for a couple days I could feel a ton of fluid sloshing back in my ears when I would move my head side to side.
Avatar f tn Last November I had endoscopic sinus surgery to clear my sinuses and deviated seputum fixed. I was great for 7 months! Then in June I got a sinus headache and my life has not been the same. I have been to the family doctor, the ENT, allergies and now I am going to a neurologist. My symptoms are burning sensation in cheeks leading to ears and teeth. Throbbing pain in my nose (like pulse or heatbeat), constant headache, darck circles under eyes and severe post nasal drip.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I stupidly rinsed my nasal cavities with 1/3 hydrogen peroxide and had bad burning, flu symptoms and allergic reaction, sinus pressure, eyes itching (also had tonsil infection). it seems to be dangerous to use HP and better to use saline. is it safe to dilute HP or fluoride to rinse your nasal cavities? the fizzing from the HP seems to mean that I have some kind of nasal infection or sores?
Avatar f tn think I must be going crazy. After having throat/ear issues for over a month, I went to the doctor 10 days ago. He said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and there was inflammation. He also said that my right ear drum looked really dull. He thinks my issues are being caused by a sinus infection. I've been taking Nasonex and antibiotics for 11 days and am still having problems. Here is where I think it gets weird. My ear bothers me when I go outside even for just a few minutes.

Avatar n tn Can this be due to stress? eye strain? or is it an upward movement of my sinus polyps/infection. I plan on seeing my doctor but it will take a few weeks, hopeful some input here can ease me...or tell me what to do about my eyes for now. theres no pain involved, and the pulses don't seem to follow my heart beat.
Avatar f tn I had a sinus infection that finally cleared according to the CT scan. The problem is my nose still feels blocked all the time. The ENT says must be inflammation but the scan was completely normal, didnt even say there was inflammation. Couldthe ct scan be wrong and whaT sshould i do.I tried decongestent, sprays, prednisone and I use saline rinse daily? Any advice is appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering for four weeks now with post nasal congestion and post nasal drip. I first went to the doctors and was diagnosed with sinus infection and was given antibiotics for 5 days. It got better but gave me a UTI and stomach cramps then when antibiotics were done the congestion and drip was back with the UTI. I was then given 10 days of antibiotics for sinus infection and another antibiotic for UTI. The UTI got better but the congestion stayed.
548980 tn?1214822412 Ive been a mess for about 5 yrs now. I suffer from constant sinus congestion, unsteadiness, dizziness, and anxiety. I recently had an allergy panel done, and it came back that I am allergic to cats and dustmites, but how come everytime I go outside within minutes to an hr I get stuffy? Are they missing something? I have constant unsteadiness (feel like I need to lean on something or im going to fall over) and I get occasional "vertigo" spells.
Avatar n tn The allergist still thought I had a sinus infection, so she recommended a sinus CT scan, which showed no infection. I caught a head cold around New Year’s which may have caused bronchitis to flare up again around January 12. My allergist recommended a lung x-ray -- also normal. But the cough and the asthma were still there, so they put me on another Medrol course, and Levaquin.
