Avatar f tn I lived in the Atlanta area for a while and the pollen problem there (a nightmare) is what spawned the used of allergy meds. Pollen count in my current place of residence (back where I grew up) is much less.

407812 tn?1211307057 m allergic to pollen if that helps, sometimes I hear wheezing and sometimes I dont, is that bad? It gets me very nervous and to top it all I have anxiety.
Avatar n tn After seeing a doctor i was prescribed medicine for bronchitis and nasonex. The nasonex takes care of the stuffy nose and i take claritin at nights so i dont wake up with symptoms, however i still have the cough and mucus (apparently it wasn't bronchitis). I am currently on medicine for a sinus infection. could a sinus infection be the cause of the wheezing? also i have began to develop allergy's to foods but have not been tested for dust, pollen, etc.
Avatar f tn Most of the East coast has been hit really bad. The normal... high... pollen count is around 120. The recent count is over 5000. I've never seen it this bad. My white truck is covered in it .........and I just washed it. Even the 2 dogs that have white paws turned green.

Avatar m tn Hello, thank you so much for your very informative answer. The pollen count for my area has been extremely high the past three weeks and this is when the phosphenes and the dry eye syndrome started. The ragweed is in total full bloom where I live, it's all over the place. There is a lot of wind which is blowing it all over and into my house. I have to keep the doors closed. My eyes have always been healthy until Aug 15 when the high pollen count happened.
Avatar n tn SO i bought a new pillow, change my pillow cases every night, wash my hair every night b/f going to bed just incase there was pollen in it, changed all my eye makeup, face wash, EVERYTHING! And it has still happened perioically over the last 3 months!! I'm going crazy trying to figure out what it is? I'm enclosing a picture so you can get an idea of what it looks like. Anyone have anyting like this and give some advice as to what to do??
Avatar f tn You might try to get in with your primary and see if he/she will prescribe some thing like Nasonex and/or Astepro. Nasonex is a nasal steroid which reduces inflammation of the sinus passages and therefore reduces allergy symptoms. There are many other name brands for that class of medicine. Astepro is a nasal spray antihistamine. It stops the sinus cells from reacting to allergens. There are only two meds in this category. Astepro and Patanase.
Avatar f tn She does not have asthma now and is not on this anymore 3.She was on nasonex 50mcg/spray (steroid nasal spray) for a period for 7 months (but not continuous-she was on and off on it..say she used it only for 7 days in a month and for 3 weeks during pollen season ) FOr her allergy rhinities. We do not use these anymore. 4.Occasionally she has antihistamine like zyrtec. 5.She does not use any of the asthma and allergy medicated steroid spray anymore. 6.
Avatar m tn Every Spring I suffer badly from pollen. I used to take allergy shots but finally got too frustrated and stopped. In the past few years during spring time for 1-2 months I used the nose spray which is a steroid. Of all medications, this is the only one that has been very helpful. Since steroids are not recommended for those with Lyme, I'm curious what allergy sufferers do about this? I figure that this is relatively low dose and should be OK, but thought I would solicit opinions. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I child has a constant runny nose which we have tried to treat with Iliadin, Sterimar, Nasonex, Celestamine and Betanoid, Antibiotics, Flexinase, the list goes on and on. We have currently changed his night time bottle to a non lactose formula. After the first night there is still a runny nose - I realise I need to be more patient. However I feel it is seriously affecting his quality of life as often the phlegm affects his throat or ears and he needs another course of antibiotics!
Avatar m tn Anybody out there get phenonmena called phosphenes in their eyes when the pollen count is really high? My area is experiencing high pollen and ever since my eyes have been blurry, tired, burning and I see a flash or spark when I go into a dark room. This only happens when I have eye allergies. Could it be from dehydrated dry eyes or from the pollen irritating the eyes.
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar n tn You can experience congestion, wheezing, headaches, and coughing. T he pollen count as well as humidity is high especially in the morning, as a result you can experience these symptoms as soon as you wake up. Keep windows closed when the pollen count is high. If possible it is better to use air conditioning. Also keep your home as allergy free as possible. You can take anti-histamines like Cetrizine at night to prevent this during this season. ref:http://www.allergyasthmazone.
531684 tn?1216745984 t even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex! Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
Avatar f tn Im not sure what could be causing urs but mine im thinkin is due to allergies. Pollen count is up really high in my area.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that my Pug has allergies with all the pollen floating around in the air. We live in the woods in North Carolina.
Avatar n tn I havs chronic sinus, especially with all the pollen and have recently began having pain in my neck, mostly on one side running up to the hairline.
Avatar m tn Here in Australia it is spring time and the pollen count is through the roof. As a result I am suffering from hayfever/asthma and typically do each year from 20 October to 20 November and pretty much to those dates. At 34/63 weeks on tx it certainly is adding an extra dimension to my sx's but still upright. I have found it necessary to take 180mg of 'fexofenadine hydrochloride' an anti-hystermine I guess.
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
