Avatar f tn Anyone have experience with any over the counter depression medicine that works well?
Avatar n tn It is considered an OTC med or over the counter and the changes of it damaging your heart are slim to none so relax a little. These residual effects i am sure will lessen as each day passes but it was a good lesson for you and now it seems like you know what not to do. If you are having probs. w. allergys you need to call the doc and see if there is something that he/she can recommend to you that will be safer for your system. It is just simply your body rebeling against what you put in it.
Avatar n tn Thought I was having a heart attack at age 32! After continued use of the Flonase over the next week the issue persisted and I could barely sleep. I stopped taking it and the heart issues I was having went away immediately.
Avatar f tn I have a cold an taking no medicine is killing me. Is there Any over the counter meds I can take?
4371309 tn?1357956329 My Dr at Kaiser said that the OTC and the ones they prescribe are the same. I didn't argue with her since she has the degree and just bough some from the pharmacy. When ever your next visit is with your OB check with her/him.
5079728 tn?1365549989 So any medication that you can go in and buy without a prescription is considered an over the counter medication. This would include every single med lined up on the shelves ..... pain killers, cough meds, diarrhea meds, nausea meds, stomach meds, anti-itching meds, everything. If I recall correctly, you have cirrhosis, so you really do have to be careful not to take anything that the doctor does not approve first.
Avatar f tn An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.
Avatar n tn But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.
765828 tn?1306263868 , there could be a serious reason why this is happening, i dont mean to scare you, it could be that you are constipated and pushing to much, but if the bowl is filled up, i would call your doctor right away, and this way, they can rule out different causes and hopefully get to the problem, i wouldnt take anything over the counter until i was seen by a doctor, good luck, let us know how you make out.
Avatar f tn yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.

Avatar m tn A nasal steroid spray is also beneficial as well as oral steroids. Nasal saline irrigations over the counter like NeilMed or Neti pot are very effective, but worsen Eustachian tube dysfunction (water in the ears or feeling of fullness in the ears). The best diagnosis for this problem is a CT of the sinuses. Surgery is recommended to patients that fail maximal medical treatment. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn but as i have to keep using the AFREN,AFREN at night..so the cycle continues with the rebound.....yesterday I tried using the nasonex during the day to fight off the rebound instead of the NASAL BUSTER .. it seemed to help so i am going to try that during the day and maybe that will get my body use to it so that in a couple of weeks that will work for me at night as i wean off of the AFREN,AFREN...
Avatar n tn They are to be taken on prescription. You can use an over-the-counter (OTC) decongestant combined with an anti-inflammatory analgesic (pain reliever) like Ibuprofen. However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. Symptoms can also be relieved by using a saline nasal spray or a nasal spray that contains corticosteroids. Corticosteroids work by helping to reduce inflammation and congestion. The golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation.
531684 tn?1216745984 Now, I can tell you, it has been four years since I stopped that drug, and every winter since, and other times after using Nasonex during 2007, when the air gets dry, I loose over five pints of blood, and don't tell me that's all the blood we have, because it was measured in a bag in the ER! It appears that my sinuses are PERMANENTLY DAMAGED!!!! I keep getting told that I should file a class action lawsuit against Nasonex!
Avatar n tn I started having a really clogged up ear almost 2 weeks ago. Then that ear started ringing (tinnitus) I guess is what they call it...the doctor first prescribed me on amoxicillin antibiotic. That didnt really do anything.
Avatar n tn There shouldn't be any chemical reactions taking the two together. The combination will not give the methadone a boost or cause any kind of "high".
Avatar f tn Is it possible to become addicted to over the counter medications? My 75 year old mother recently moved to my town so that I could help her financially, etc. I have become very concerned about the amount of excederine, prilosec, nasal spray, aleve, and other antacid medicines that she takes. She has a history of bleeding ulcers, she smokes about 2 packs of cigarettes a week, high blood pressure, and other ailments of old age. I didn't realize that she was taking so much of this medicine.
