Nasonex or rhinocort

Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex or rhinocort

nasonex

216239 tn?1233257361 Rhinocort is category B so it supposedly is the only recommended/safe one. My friend gave me her approved drug sheet and it says Benadryl 1-2 tab every 4-6 hours. Do not exceed 6 pills in 24 hours. Did the doc say anything? I know how you feel. I'm the same way with these allergies but I'm too afraid to take anything at 6 weeks. Did Rhinocort once and that was it. The rest of the days I suffer. Good luck.
Avatar m tn As for sprays, i know i have used Nasonex and Rhinocort and several others i cannot remember the name of. The ones you buy in the chemist i have tried as well. I have tried many decongestants, none of which have helped. As for the Afrin ( i just researched it) - and those sprays, like the chemist ones have bad rebound effects for me - After one use, my nose tends to block up - the drip does stop a bit with this, but obviously with worse side affects.
Avatar f tn He or she may recommend over-the-counter medications such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Claritin (loratadine), or prescription medicines such as a daily nasal steroid, such as Flonase (fluticasone), Rhinocort AQ (budesonide), Nasonex (mometasone furoate), or Beconase (beclomethasone), or a leukotriene inhibitor, such as Singulair (montelukast sodium).
Avatar f tn Hi. I am 23 yrs old and I am allergic to all pets that have fur or feathers, as well as tabacco, dust, grass, and dandelion. I take cetirizine hydrochloride and Rhinocort everyday. However, a few months ago, I started to get an itchy/tingly feeling in my teeth, throat, chest, and toungue. I got it almost everyday, and sometimes for several days straight. My doctor said it might be a side affect of the antihistimine. So, I have switched to loratadine and have been using this one for a few months.
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
531684 tn?1216745984 t even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex! Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.
Avatar n tn In the summer of 2008 he was on daily doses of Singulair, Claritin, Qvar, and Rhinocort. Concerned over this amount of medication for someone this young I sought a second opinion. That doctor took him off all the medications and he was fine with no adverse reactions but occasionly felt he need an albuterol inhaler. In Jan 2011 he developed a severe cold which aggravated his asthma and is now (Nov 11), and has since, been back on daily doses of Qvar, Claritin, and Rhinoqort.
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
Avatar n tn No I have not had a topical steroid prescribed, I go see the dentist on next Tuesday, the only medication i am prescribed is Valtrex, Singulair, Rhinocort, and Yaz, just started Yaz this month. However, been on Valtrex consist for a year nearly now.
Avatar n tn KICKED OFF EMAIL...SENDING AGAIN - DELETE IF DUPLICATE My son is 3 1/2. Diagnosed with mild asthma last October - biggest problem was runny nose since he was baby (raised on soy didn't start 1% organic milk until 2). Tested for allergies and assumed it's pollution or air quality - Negative blood and scratch tests for all but cats...we have none. Since October - Flovent for asthma has stopped his cough which was excercise induced - Also runny nose caused the coughing.
Avatar n tn This may be an overreactive question, but I don't want to cause any more PVCs or PACs then necessary. I've had them for 2.5 months now. I had the 30 day event monitor and he said they were benign. I have pretty bad allergies and my allergist wants me to take immunotherapy, but in the mean time wants me on a medrol steroid pack, and antibiotics. Just curious if you know this answer. Thank U.
Avatar m tn The use of glucocorticoids (the medication is NASONEX, to the nose) can make someone immunocompromised? I used Nasonex for one month. I stopped using today, and I used the normal dose. I'll do a HIV test, so I need to know this question. Thank you guys!
Avatar n tn t whether I should Just keep doing the Nasonex and nothing else and wait n see? or if I should take some Sudafed and see what that does. Im not usually a person that takes medicines a lot I usually just like to work out and exercise a lot and let my body take care of it. But I never had tinnitus for 2 months before haha...but I'm just wondering what would be the better alternative do you think?
Avatar n tn Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too. Common side effects of Nasonex are fatigue, headaches, a lowered immune system (not good) and others too. A few people I know who have used this for a year or more mentioned that they got palpitations, and one friend said his PVCs increased. But one can't be sure whether the PVCs increased because of the Nasonex.

7003050 tn?1390124013 No. I use a Netty pot with sterile/preboiled water to decrease the symptoms. Went to see my Ob and allergist. I'm continuing my claratin and singular. Allergist changed flonase to rhinocort (super expensive). They want me to avoid triggering another bad asthma attack. That can be harmful to baby. Hope you feel better.

Avatar m tn My name is Kimberly, I am 40 years old. About 7 years ago I was treated with Nasonex in conjunction with a cpap machine for my sleep apnea. After that every time I bent over water would pour out of one side of nose. At first I thought it was blood, but it was the exact consitency of water. I stooped using the nasonex and the cpap ueats ago. This has happened off and on for years.About 6 months ago I noticed the drip was back, as well as occasional water out of my ears.
Avatar n tn i took him off the nasonex. i wasnt sure about the viral pathology but he was tested when he was little for diabetes.neg. i had already looked into rocky mountain and his symptoms dont match up.he was at the eye doctor when this all started because of the headaches. they found nothing but a little allergy reaction to something. the ear nose throat doctor was the one who put him on the nasonex, every thing else checked out with him too.
Avatar f tn I can however use just a steroid inhaler along with the Nasonex nose spray, it seemed to work very well for me. Should I try staying with this or try Singular. I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I love breathing better !!
Avatar f tn I have been on prednisone, nasonex, singular, various inhallers etc etc. I would like to finally get a firm diagnosis and therapeutic approach to handling the symptoms. Would an allergist or pulmonologist be the way to go?
Avatar f tn A few months ago I started using Nasonex every day because of allergies. Shortly after my heart started acting up, I was getting short bursts of tachycardia lasting no more than 30 seconds, but disconcerting never the less. That hadn't happened to me for several years, since my medications were switched. My GP told me that Nasonex wouldn't do that but I stopped using it anyway. I had an appt with my EP today and I asked about it.
