nasonex or nasacort

Hi back - I think I'm allergic to dust/pollen/mold. Tried antihistamines and they work but screw up urination - having prostate cancer surgery soon so that may fix the antihistamine problem, but they also kind of sedate me, which I don't like, and make my private parts shrivel up. Decongestants rattle me and raise my BP.

suffering from the same condition for almost five years , I am 29 yrs old, based in India , the rashes develop due to itching (becomes red)and eventually dries out and skin peels off after a day or two, especially during summer.To minimiize the symptom I try to control the urge to itch , avoiding harsh soap/cream and only tap dry the area after bath. I even consulted the doc , he says every thing is fine and its not STI/bac/viral infection and prescribed some normal OTC medication.

I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!

Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?

Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.

I find myself waking up in the night short of breath, almost as if I am hyperventilating. Getting more cross-ventilation in my room and to using Nasacort helps ease the problem. However, the problem persists in varying degrees. I have a deviated septum and persistent rhinitis. Any advice would be welcome.

Diagnosed with mild asthma last October - biggest problem was runny nose since he was baby (raised on soy didn't start 1% organic milk until 2). Tested for allergies and assumed it's pollution or air quality - Negative blood and scratch tests for all but cats...we have none. Since October - Flovent for asthma has stopped his cough which was excercise induced - Also runny nose caused the coughing.

This may be an overreactive question, but I don't want to cause any more PVCs or PACs then necessary. I've had them for 2.5 months now. I had the 30 day event monitor and he said they were benign. I have pretty bad allergies and my allergist wants me to take immunotherapy, but in the mean time wants me on a medrol steroid pack, and antibiotics. Just curious if you know this answer. Thank U.

The use of glucocorticoids (the medication is NASONEX, to the nose) can make someone immunocompromised? I used Nasonex for one month. I stopped using today, and I used the normal dose. I'll do a HIV test, so I need to know this question. Thank you guys!

Thanks. I did have a cold and the Dr. gave me a sample nasal spray called Nasacort. I tried it for 11 days straight and didn't get any good results so I just quit using it. I'm going to try it again, maybe this time it will work. I would like to smell again. Thanks for your input.

t whether I should Just keep doing the Nasonex and nothing else and wait n see? or if I should take some Sudafed and see what that does. Im not usually a person that takes medicines a lot I usually just like to work out and exercise a lot and let my body take care of it. But I never had tinnitus for 2 months before haha...but I'm just wondering what would be the better alternative do you think?

Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too. Common side effects of Nasonex are fatigue, headaches, a lowered immune system (not good) and others too. A few people I know who have used this for a year or more mentioned that they got palpitations, and one friend said his PVCs increased. But one can't be sure whether the PVCs increased because of the Nasonex.

I frequently feel as if I am hyperventilating while lying down, which is eased by letting more cross-ventilation into my room. I ease my symptoms with Nasacort, Sudafed, and sinus rinses. I am a 37-year-old male. Can anyone provide some advice?

Try to keep home decorated if possible with clean hard surfaces that can be swiffered and mopped or wiped and wont retain mold or dust either. An air filter would certainly help. You should also see an ENT who will better diagnose voice issues and can also help with allergy issues. Lastly, Pay close attention to speaking voice...if it even begins to sound rough, it is an early indicator that there is a problem.

I wanted to mention that Nasacort has a steroid in it. So you don't want to keep using it longer than the week. Even though it says non addictive it still will cause you to have need to use it in the sense that if you don't use it the cells get used to it being an anti-inflammatory. The cells like this and will want more steroid. So in a way they do get used to it. So, give it a try for a 5 days to see if it helps your symptoms.

Went to a doctor today..I have a noise in my left ear sounds like listening to a sea shell and I hear echos listening to people talk or the tv.. he said ear was clean and gave me for two weeks Nasonex said if don't work come back..I don't have a cold nose isn't backup no sinus pain or head ache..is this normal to give allergy meds for ear problems ??

I used Biaxin (anti-biotics), started with Symbicort (puffer), then on Alvesco and now I am on Nasacort, Advair and Aerius. Is this a post virus cough, asthma or something else...your thoughts?

Nose specialist prescribed him with Nasonex 2x spray per day, Ceflour antibiotic, Anpro Loratadine, and Roximeth. But i worry about the STeroid effect to my son. . So i stop after taken 1 tablet of Roximeth after i found out this is steroid. Please advise any side effect if my son stop this Roximeth after 1 tablet ? (as doctor always advise me to finish it so i don't want to tell doctor) Nasonex also steroid spray right?

I have a horrible cough and it produces a very thick white mucus lumps. He gave me a breathing treatment, A 3 in1 shot, nasacort spray, and Ala-Hist. He said that I now have Asthma. Is there anything else that could be done. None of this has had any affect on this crud. Is there something else to do. I think I have something wrong in the lungs or in the sinus. Nothing has helped.
