Nasonex or flonase

Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex or flonase

nasonex

Avatar n tn Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too. Common side effects of Nasonex are fatigue, headaches, a lowered immune system (not good) and others too. A few people I know who have used this for a year or more mentioned that they got palpitations, and one friend said his PVCs increased. But one can't be sure whether the PVCs increased because of the Nasonex.
Avatar f tn A few months ago I started using Nasonex every day because of allergies. Shortly after my heart started acting up, I was getting short bursts of tachycardia lasting no more than 30 seconds, but disconcerting never the less. That hadn't happened to me for several years, since my medications were switched. My GP told me that Nasonex wouldn't do that but I stopped using it anyway. I had an appt with my EP today and I asked about it.
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
Avatar f tn So could this be the side effects of Nasonex after a month later and I still need to wait a bit longer or is this something I should continue to look into? It's really affecting my life.
Avatar f tn P.S. I'm also using Nasonex and I believe it is helping. I have been on flonase for the last 5yr's since this all started and it never helped. What is the difference between Flonase and Nasonex?
Avatar n tn I'm a fellow allergy sufferer. Have you had any allergy tests done? Perhaps it is something in the air of your home that no one can totally escape from--dustmites. That is my top allergy. Everything that the doctor already suggested does help, but I still have to use allergy medicine. I use Benadryl and Nasonex. Nasonex, because it is fragrance-free.
Avatar m tn You can also use nasal corticosteroid sprays like nasocort or flonase. Decongestants may also be helpful in reducing symptoms such as nasal congestion, but they should not be used for long periods. If the symptoms are intense then pls consult an ENT specialist. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.Warm regards.
Avatar n tn I have also been having vertigo issues for the past nine months or so. Have tried several medications such as Zyrtec D, Flonase, Nasonex, Xyzal....also nasal rinses, and some vitamins and herbs...nothing works for long. Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. I have in the past from time to time has what I think are fever blisters around the corners of my mouth.
Avatar m tn He also has albuterol inhaler and Flonase. However, it does not work sometime like the last 2 nights. The flonase really made it worst so I stop. He has this about a year off and on, but worse when the weather change.I have air filter and huminifier at home as well. Myself, I started having sinus issue only recently about 2-3 years. I have post nasal drop 2-3x per week. Sometime mild and sometime very bad.
Avatar f tn So do i have allegies or sinusitus!!I need help cause i have three little ones to take care of but i always feel sick and nervous!!!
Avatar f tn I am on Plaquenil 400mg Metoprolol Tartrate 50mg BID, Proventil HFA 2puffs every 4 hours, Flovent Diskus 250mcg (started one week ago), Nasonex, Augmentin 875 BID. I have had no problems with my cardio selective Beta Blocker prior to catching this cold. My peak flows are still in the High Yellow Zone and I am maxing out on my rescue inhaler and I haven't been on the Flonase long enough to provide control. But I am not wheezing...just stuck in the yellow zone anywhere from 360-390...
Avatar f tn not going into the ear canal) I am thinking that I only need to give it a few more days for everything to clear up, but am looking for any other advice or things I should be watching for? Thank you. Also, if the nasonex has been working, should I expect flonase to be as effective (it is quite a bit less expensive in generic.
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar f tn nasonex, afrin, mucinex-d, claritin, allegra, zyrtec, flonase, etc. Another ENT thought it was acid reflux. I tried: prilosec for 14 days, nexium for 3 days (I had too many side effects from nexium so I discontinued it). I had no symptoms of acid reflux so I felt there was no point to take these meds, but I tried anyway with no success. I got a CT scan and they found there was a cyst in my left maxillary sinus and mucus thickening in the ethmoid on the same side.
Avatar n tn org/posts/Family-Health/Odd-swelling-on-side-of-nose/show/228206. He suggests a sinus CT. Has this been offered to you or are they trying the Flonase first? Here is information on Flonase https://www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
1236313 tn?1295726268 I have tried Nasonex, Flonase, etc. I started allergy shots about 8 months ago. The only relief I get is from Afrin, and that doesn't even last the 12 hours. (I don't want to hear about how you shouldn't take it for more than 3 days either!) My family doctor had put me on the Z-pack and Biaxin and it works for a SHORT period of time, if at all, and then I go back to the congestion. I have had a CAT scan that shows some inflammation, but does show that I am draining.
531684 tn?1216745984 t even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex! Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.
Avatar n tn I am a 30 year-old healthy female. I currently take Levothyroxine for a thyroid disorder. I am on no other medications. For the last year I have had fullness in both my ears. It is getting to be very uncomfortable and bothersome. The feeling reminds me of when you change elevation and need to clear your ears. I have tried to get them to "pop" but it doesn't work. I am a singer and now when singing my voice even echos in my ears.
Avatar f tn He or she may recommend over-the-counter medications such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Claritin (loratadine), or prescription medicines such as a daily nasal steroid, such as Flonase (fluticasone), Rhinocort AQ (budesonide), Nasonex (mometasone furoate), or Beconase (beclomethasone), or a leukotriene inhibitor, such as Singulair (montelukast sodium).
Avatar f tn This year I got it again around the same time, but instead of flonase my doctor prescribed nasonex. Later the doctor gave me flonase and it hasn't helped. I'm thoroughly frustrated and worn out. If you find out anything about it please let me now. I'm so sorry for you having to go through all that, but I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one out there.
612551 tn?1450022175 My personal interest in this Community is my chronic night time (sleep time) nasal congestion. I have tried the generic for Flonase (fluticasone) which didn't help much, not ow Astepro (not a steroid) which is a little more help, but none are as good as the over the counter Afrin (or similar) which can not be used for long periods. This congestion led me to recognize I have some trouble waking up with a suffocation sensession. .
Avatar n tn m really fustrated and confused, he is on Flovent twice a day, flonase twice a day, albuterol as needed and steroids when his croup is bad which is likely 3-4 times a year. I've recently read an article on reflux and how it relates to croup I now am going to see a specialist in that field and hope I can have some anwsers!!! Hospital visits are too common in my home and I want to know WHY!!!! Good Luck and I will let you know how it goes!
579469 tn?1311705550 They will give you a strong steriod shot and a steriod nose spray such as nasonex, rhinocort, or flonase....they have many more. The allery spray they have doesn't work for me. I use Flonase 2 puffs 2x a day. So I hardly use the afrin. If you do the steriod shot, steriod nose spray, it will get you off of it in about a week or so.
