Avatar m tn So can i taking the homeopathy medicine along with nasonex spray or any other treatment for nasal polyp. If your advise well help me to get rid of these problem then i will be thankful to you and MEDHELP for my entire life : )....
Avatar f tn You can get surgery for the polyps, but if you want to try anything else, Nasonex has been proven effective for polyps in some patients. As far as curing your sinusitis, which is most likely the cause of most nasal polyps, I have developed a saline Sinus Flush that has proven 100% effective against every sinus problem I have had, and I've had most of them.
Avatar n tn I started feeling depressed and anxious after I started taking Nasonex. Been off it for 2 days but still feel very shaky, depressed, anxious, I can't sleep and I am very dizzy. I have suffered from depression in the past and was on meds but I am off of them. I don't know. I just need to hear other people's opinons of this. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Some medical professionals think that they are caused by chronic fungal or other infections, and polyps sometimes respond to treatment by Nasonex.
Avatar n tn thanks for the reply doctornee, i had an appointment with a ent specialist for a different symptom but i was prescribed a nasal spray for nasal polyps (this sensation seems to have started with the medication) i'll try out that valsalva maneuver!

Avatar n tn For about 4 years I haven't been able to breath through my nose, my doctor's been a bit ambigous saying i have an infection, x-rays showed fluid in my upper sinuses. She mentioned nasal polyps. I've been on antibotics twice, but neither time helped. neither has nasonex and she advised me against surgery...
Avatar n tn I had sinus surgery and got my sense of smell back after 6 years of not being able to smell. My dr recommended to use NASONEX for life. since that shrinks polyps. Start using that everyday twice a day along with Neilmed rinse.
Avatar f tn I suddenly had developed wheezing and coughing after exposure to some toxic paint plus for a couple of years when I climb stairs I am short of breath. He said to take meds for a month at one dose and for another month at a half dose and to thereafter see another pulmonologist. He prescribed three meds, one ('Nasonex') that was already taking based on an ENT's recommendation. I am able to find that one easily in many countries where I travel.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your comments! It is nice to have someone that understands. I hope you recover very quickly! I will keep you posted on my progress. I did smell very strong cigarette smoke today. I guess this is something. We do not smoke, a neighbor came in that does smoke and I could smell smoke on his clothes. I am not getting my hopes up just yet, but I was excited! I did not smell the fresh baked cornbread I just made and this was a disappointment.
Avatar f tn After the surgery it was found to be over 90% was full of puss filled polyps. All were removed and what a relief he felt for a while. They are back. We have lost insurance for a few years so him going to the doc had waned a bit. We went to the same ENT a few years later and even with NO insurance he still saw us and just charged us an AWESOME rate for payment. Steroid shots were given but he can not be tested to see what allergies he has until 6 months after a steroid shot.
Avatar m tn Nasal polyps (NPs) represent a common clinical end point for a number of inflammatory disease processes involving the paranasal sinuses. Chronic rhinosinusitis is the most common cause for NPs, but not all NPs are created equally. The presence of a nasal polyp may offer the best clue as to what is happening in your nose and sinuses. Such polyps are often associated with the production of excessive mucous that leads to throat clearing.
Avatar f tn l am sick of going to the docs with my ringing and constantly feeling blocked ear, l have seen 3 different docs and 1 ENT all of which say my ears look fine, they are not fine and at the moment my head is throbbing, my left ear ringing and feeling very pressurised, l feel very down and depressed and worried as in 5 weeks l'm off to europe :( This is supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime with my fanily and all l can think of is what is going to happen with my ears, can anybody help me?
Avatar m tn They reduce inflammation, they can reduce the symptoms of allergies, they open the airways and act as vasoconstrictors in your nose to allow for easier drainage, and can also be effective in fighting polyps as well. Patanase is another form of an allergy medication that assists in managing allergic rhinitis, the symptoms, etc. So, you can see that there is a reason that you take all of the medication that you do. Especially for sinus concerns.
538745 tn?1213755988 Nope no congested nose or sinus problems at all.. I had this problem for about 4 weeks now ..and the GP I'm seeing here put me on Nasonex he said could be in my sinus since he look into my ears and they were clean. I'm 53 years old .no ringing . but hear people talk again like a echo..plus the sound of putting a sea shell up to my hear..I learn to put the tv on really loud .than doesn't bug me as much..
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar m tn I have had post nasal drip and severe sinus problems for many years now. I had an operation to remove a cyst and some polyp's about 5 years ago. This never stopped the post nasal drip, and i have since had ct scans done and it reveals that i once again have polyps. I seem to be getting different story's from every specialist i see, with the most recent one saying that the polyps wouldn't be causing you trouble and there is nothing he can do.
531684 tn?1216745984 I keep getting told that I should file a class action lawsuit against Nasonex! The last nose bleed I had, my family thought that they were loosing me for sure. It's extreme, and let me tell you, I never had a nosebleed in my life before I used nasonex. I believe this is a very dangerous drug, and I don't know why it is still being allowed as a drug, or any steroid for the nose.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
1687346 tn?1305586491 I have already gone through sinus surgery and allergy shots. For the past year I have been taking prednisone and antibiotics almost every 6-8 weeks to help clear the inflammation enough where I can actually smell and to drain out (it is so depressing not to be able to smell delicious food when you LOVE food! and a fear that I can't smell something burning).
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
Avatar n tn However, I have to take 2 pills in the morning, 2 for lunch, 2 for dinner, etc.. I have done that for about 5 years. However, continuing like this scares me, especially after reading on the bottle that I shouldn’t use that product for more than a week… I also find that after a while, the effect of the pill is not the same and my problem is coming back. Also, it is not all decongestant that will work the same. I have one brand that will work good while others will not.
497572 tn?1209812815 I've had sinus surgery 4 times for removal of nasal polyps. Over the years, I have been treated with kenalog for sinus infections. Will kenalog treatments keep my polyps in check? Surgery as a bandaid fix is getting expensive and it doesn't fix the problem This discussion is related to Kenalog frequency.
Avatar n tn s pollution or air quality - Negative blood and scratch tests for all but cats...we have none. Since October - Flovent for asthma has stopped his cough which was excercise induced - Also runny nose caused the coughing. Started on Rhinochort in October-went to Nasonex, it worked better. Tried to discontinue medications in Feb and he had immediate symptoms again - returned to it. For the most part, both medications have resolved his symptoms.
Avatar n tn Nasonex does have a steroid in it, but isn't quite as bad (supposedly) because it's inhaled rather than a pill. But there are no longterm studies as to how it affects one's heart rhythm, etc. My ear/nose/throat doctor told me not to use antihistamines, allergy meds like Allegra or Zyrtec, or decongestants as they all can cause heart rhythm problems. He said to only use saline nasal spray (which didn't stop my ongoing allergy and sinus problems).
