Hey how are you doing? Its been a couple of weeks...I haven't been on here for a while bit hanks for your replys back...my ear is still ringing a little bit it's been a month I saw the ENT specialists and he prescribed me anti-inflammatory steroid...the ringing def. Went down a little bit. Then we waited a week and then he told to take ibuprofen. Which at first I didn't think was a bad idea.
I'm 16, and I recently got put on amoxicillin for a really bad eat infection. When I went to the doctor, he said he saw no problems other than in my left sinuses which he assumed was the problem for my ear ache/runny nose/sore throat, etc. I've been taking nasonex, sudafed, and just today stopped taking my amoxicillin pills.
) After couple days of fullness went to doctor and said I had a bad ear infection, and have been treated with amoxicillan for past 10 days. Now, I'm back to the more "normal" symptoms, along with some jaw soreness and soreness to pressure/touch inside the ear canal (outer canal only...not going into the ear canal) I am thinking that I only need to give it a few more days for everything to clear up, but am looking for any other advice or things I should be watching for?
think I must be going crazy. After having throat/ear issues for over a month, I went to the doctor 10 days ago. He said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and there was inflammation. He also said that my right ear drum looked really dull. He thinks my issues are being caused by a sinus infection. I've been taking Nasonex and antibiotics for 11 days and am still having problems. Here is where I think it gets weird. My ear bothers me when I go outside even for just a few minutes.
He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
For over a month I had been having some slight issues with my throat being irritated and my ears aching a bit. Sometimes when I would chew food I would get pain in my right ear and even my right eye would ache. Also, the right side of my throat feels a tad bit swollen. If you look at my throat it looks red and irritated. I had what I guess was a tonsil stone come out a few weeks ago.
In May, I went to the doctor - he said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and he thought it was being caused by a sinus infection. He prescribed antibiotics (Z-Pak) and Nasonex. At the time I was having some congestion, ear pain/ache at random times and when I would chew/open my mouth. After taking the antibiotics for a couple days I could feel a ton of fluid sloshing back in my ears when I would move my head side to side.
Thanks for the comment. I've been using Nasonex and the Mucinex so I've got the decongestants down. I think I might go back in in a few days and see what they say.

HAD BURNING IN MY EARS AND DR TOLD ME I HAD A BLOCKED EAR CANAL FROM SINUS IN THE ONE EAR AND THRUSH IN THE OTHER EAR AND PRESCRIBED KENACOMB OPTIC AFTER 2 DAYS I HAVE THE SAME MUFFLED SOUND IN MY RIGHT EAR AND ITS GETTING WORSE AND BOTH MY EARS ARE IN PAIN. GOT GIVEN NASONEX NASAL SPRAY TO CAUSE APPARENTLY I HAVE A Sinus abnormality anc sinus infection. I live in the outback so have no access to a ear specialist. Please help.
t really open my mouth all the way because of my ear hurting. Finally went to doctor today and he said I must have infection coming from my sinuses, which really haven't been bothering me much. Also both my ears have a lot of inflammation and fluid. He prescibed antibiotics and Nasonex. Hoping that starts working soon because I'm not feeling too great. You probably should go to the doctor and get it checked out before it gets as bad as mine.
hi i can not hear in my right ear, have a feeling of water in my head, clicking in both ear EVERY time i swollow, and headaches that last for the day and my eyes feel lick they are too big for the sockets.I can "POP" my ear open an d hear perfectly for about a 30 sec period. I saw the end of THE DOCTORS and the person had the same symptoms and there was a surgery to open the eustation tubes with a baloon. Any idea what my problem is??
Inflammation in the nose and sinuses can cause inflammation around the Eustachian tube, which is the tube that runs from the back of the nose to the middle ear and is responsible for draining the middle ear of fluid. If there is Eustachian tube dysfunction from nose or sinus inflammation, fluid can remain in the middle ear which can lead to dizziness. So, therapy for this lies in treating the underlying sinusitis.
The last few episodes progressed from scratchy throat to full blown ear/sinus infection and bronchitis in 3 days. The usual treatment plan is antibiotics, inhaler (with steroids), nasal spray (like Nasonex). I have been continuing the inhaler and nasal spray between episodes as well.
The sinus/chest x-rays have come back with nothing that the doctor was concerned about. I like my doctor, but I think it's time for another opinion or a specialist. I'm not even sure where to start. ENT?
After getting a URI over a month ago I took Antibiotics and thought I kicked it but shortly after the course of Ab's was completed I continued to suffer from congestion, cough, increasing sinus pressure, sneezing (frequently in sets of a half dozen or more), scratchy throat, insanely clogged ears where I feel as if I'm hearing underwater and cannot pop-yawn my left ear for over 5 days now.
m pretty sure it was to check for ear pressure. The lady stuck these ear phone like plugs into my ears that were hooked up to a machine while they were making these beeping noises and I just had to sit there and wait it out) and they told me everything seemed perfectly fine. This doctor gave me some more xyzal and prescribed to me some nasonex but I find that its not helping if doing anything at all.
l am sick of going to the docs with my ringing and constantly feeling blocked ear, l have seen 3 different docs and 1 ENT all of which say my ears look fine, they are not fine and at the moment my head is throbbing, my left ear ringing and feeling very pressurised, l feel very down and depressed and worried as in 5 weeks l'm off to europe :( This is supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime with my fanily and all l can think of is what is going to happen with my ears, can anybody help me?
A couple times when I went to the doctor I was told I had fluid behind my ears (no infection), another time that I had an ear infection, and also had a sinus infection. I've been to my primary care physicain several times over this the past few months. Anyway, I finally decided to go to an ENT as this is obviously not going to go away on it's own.
So, as I've never been to an ENT before, I was hoping someone could tell me what to expect.
Nasonex does have a steroid in it, but isn't quite as bad (supposedly) because it's inhaled rather than a pill. But there are no longterm studies as to how it affects one's heart rhythm, etc. My ear/nose/throat doctor told me not to use antihistamines, allergy meds like Allegra or Zyrtec, or decongestants as they all can cause heart rhythm problems. He said to only use saline nasal spray (which didn't stop my ongoing allergy and sinus problems).
Today I still have had a constant ringing in my ear. It has not once gone away, even for a second. I have tried amoxicillin in case of a sinus infection, but that has done nothing, and I have also been using Nasonex daily to no avail. My first doctors visit came to the conclusion I had fluid in my ears which was causing the problem due to what they thought was ETD. but that was 5 days after the initial ringing.
i took him off the nasonex. i wasnt sure about the viral pathology but he was tested when he was little for diabetes.neg. i had already looked into rocky mountain and his symptoms dont match up.he was at the eye doctor when this all started because of the headaches. they found nothing but a little allergy reaction to something. the ear nose throat doctor was the one who put him on the nasonex, every thing else checked out with him too.
