Nasonex and smell

Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex and smell

nasonex

Avatar f tn I use Nasonex and Astepro to prevent polyp formation and to ward off allergies. I also do the NeilMed nasal wash before the sprays. I go to a reputable ENT and he says I'm "all clear up there" and I should have my sense of smell, but I don't. It comes in short spurts. I've also taken Prednisone and it has helped but only temporarily. It doesn't make any sense unless there are new polyps that a CT scan hasn't seen.
Avatar n tn ) but still no smell or taste back yet :( I looked into that NASONEX, but you need to be prescribed it over here.
1687346 tn?1305586491 HI! So I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has used acupucture to help with allergy and/or sinus issues? It has been almost 2 long years working with my allergist and ENT to figure out what is going on with my sinuses. I have already gone through sinus surgery and allergy shots.
Avatar f tn The strange smell must be because of sinusitis. The smell getting worse during an attack of cold and the discharge trickling down the throat are features of sinusitis. Try taking mucolytics (bromhexine/ambroxyl), oral antihistaminics [(such as cetrizine or fexofenadine) if at all you are having any allergic nasal symptoms], saline nasal drops and steam inhalations. Also drink plenty of warm water. Hope these medications would alleviate your symptoms. Any more doubts you are welcome.
Avatar f tn I also have been using Nasonex and Advil cold and sinus and still have the congestion as well as when the antibiotics finished the next day I got really dizzy and tired/achy. I am now on anti dizzy pills but still have congestion and tried Reaction for congestion and hasn't helped. I am told I need to see a ear/nose doctor but have no idea when the appointment will be they say they are booking in September. Any advice would help.
Avatar m tn After a few more days I got this bad smell in my nose that is getting worse and worse. It has been over a month now and I have tryed nasel kit to flush out my nose. I have tryed a nasel spray called NASONEX that my Doctor put me on along with allegra. NOTHING IS WORKING. The smell is getting worse and it is causing all my food to taste bad. It is getting so bad that I am now getting an upset stomic and its causing me to lose sleep. How can I make this go away?
Avatar f tn He prescribed Nasonex. That was temporary and then I stopped because then the doctor started to be concerned about me getting addicted to the stuff and to be very careful, so now I just suffer. So all in all I certainly will start finding some permanent relief. It is getting worse and I do lose a lot of sleep. PS: 2 yrs smoke Free!!!!
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!

Avatar n tn t whether I should Just keep doing the Nasonex and nothing else and wait n see? or if I should take some Sudafed and see what that does. Im not usually a person that takes medicines a lot I usually just like to work out and exercise a lot and let my body take care of it. But I never had tinnitus for 2 months before haha...but I'm just wondering what would be the better alternative do you think?
531684 tn?1216745984 I am one of those 'supposedly' rare cases. I used nasonex in the past years off and on. Doctors kept saying it was a rare side effect to have nose bleeds, yet I can't even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex!
Avatar n tn I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
Avatar m tn Suggestion of the two things I have mentioned can; not saying they WILL. I would try them in combination.
Avatar m tn s what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun. Very clever, taking advantage of peoples' medical conditions.
Avatar m tn I know that many cold remedies have Phenedrine and/or other stimlulants and I am wondering if any Afib patients out there take Nasonex or Flonase wihtout any problems.
Avatar m tn ( I have also asked this question on the ENT forum...sorry if you are not allowed to ask a similar question on two forums...) I have a question. I've been having odor coming from my nose for quite a while now...people in class can smell it from the other side of the classroom...the reactions are very painful... bad breath developed before it due to gingivitis...but the bad breath went away after gingivitis deep cleaning....
Avatar n tn Started on Rhinochort in October-went to Nasonex, it worked better. Tried to discontinue medications in Feb and he had immediate symptoms again - returned to it. For the most part, both medications have resolved his symptoms. I did notice over the last year he has been moodier/yells at us/crys over little things - but attributed to his age. Live in notice over the last year he has been moodier/yells at us/crys over little things - but attributed to his age.
Avatar f tn We are still without Rx Coverage and the Meds (Symbacort and Nasonex) are running us $474.00 a month. But he can breath. I would like to find a cure for this too. Thank you for your post. I am in Northern California. agricultural area of the State. We are not farmers but might as well be it is in the air.
Avatar n tn I have also been on a regimen of Nasonex and other sorts of nasal sprays that you need a prescription for. Once again, I saw temporary relief only to have the symptoms return. This summer (and now September) of 2008 has been really bad. (I lived in Japan from July 2006 to May 2008, and for some reason I had few allergic symptoms there). I am, like ever, waking up in the middle of the night unable to breathe because my nose gets congested. I blow my nose, but nothing gets drained.
Avatar n tn I've had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
Avatar m tn The momthasone is in VERY low doses and is delivered exactly where it is needed, and used. Very little if any of this medication will make it into your body to start with. Them methylprednisolone is an oral steroid. You are wise to be concerned about it. You are on a very low dose of that (for oral steroids) though and for a short time. I can't tell you how long it will stay in your system, but your should not experience any side effects from this very limited exposure.
Avatar m tn But afterwards, I had methylprednisolone and momethasone/nasonex as prescribed by my doctor. I have read in the internet that both are corticosteroid and acts like immunosuppresant? I will only take methylprednisolone 16 mg twice a day for 5 days only and momethasone/nasonex (500 mcg/g) two sprays a day for 1 month. I am worrying that it may affect my hiv test result in my 6th month? can they delay antibodies to show up or something?
Avatar n tn However in your son’s case the symptoms are far apart, except for the rash and fever. These are also signs of meningitis, but that is a more serious condition and will not linger for so long without serious repercussions. Diabetes should definitely be looked into. Rocky Mountain spotted fever is another possibility. Refractive errors of the eye should also be looked into. Fungal infections too should be investigated. Hope this helps. Do discuss these possibilities with your son’s pediatrician.
Avatar n tn Nose specialist prescribed him with Nasonex 2x spray per day, Ceflour antibiotic, Anpro Loratadine, and Roximeth. But i worry about the STeroid effect to my son. . So i stop after taken 1 tablet of Roximeth after i found out this is steroid. Please advise any side effect if my son stop this Roximeth after 1 tablet ?
