Avatar n tn Now it is jaw pain, dizziness, and sinus pressure. My ENT had a CT done and said my sinuses are basically clear but I have 2 small polyps in a cavity and teeth growing in y nasal cavity?...Apparently this is normal? But now I am severely depressed and anxious too. He seems to think all of this stemed from stress so he gave me valium. I started feeling depressed and anxious after I started taking Nasonex.
Avatar n tn Some medical professionals think that they are caused by chronic fungal or other infections, and polyps sometimes respond to treatment by Nasonex.
Avatar n tn For about 4 years I haven't been able to breath through my nose, my doctor's been a bit ambigous saying i have an infection, x-rays showed fluid in my upper sinuses. She mentioned nasal polyps. I've been on antibotics twice, but neither time helped. neither has nasonex and she advised me against surgery...
Avatar n tn I have a feeling of pressure above my cheekbone between my temple and ear (roughly in the middle) what could it be? I'm taking nasonex (oral nose) and omeprazole (oral pill) i've had this feeling for 3 days now.

Avatar f tn I just had surgery to remove very large nasal polyps and fungus from my nose three weeks ago. Since the surgery I have visited the doctor once a week for deep cleaning. He is able to get out whatever I can't. My cleaning routine entails daily sinus rinse, three times a day. I dont want this to comeback since this is my second surgery. Today's office visit, the doctor said he could visible see signs of growth again of the polyps.
Avatar f tn You can also try complementary and alternative therapies such as acupuncture. Removing the polyps with surgery usually makes it easier to breathe through the nose. However, over time, nasal polyps may indeed return. Reduced or lost sense of smell does not always improve following treatment with medicines or surgery. It is best that you talk to your doctor or ENT about this for proper management. Hope this helps. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I had sinus surgery and got my sense of smell back after 6 years of not being able to smell. My dr recommended to use NASONEX for life. since that shrinks polyps. Start using that everyday twice a day along with Neilmed rinse.
Avatar f tn I use Nasonex and Astepro to prevent polyp formation and to ward off allergies. I also do the NeilMed nasal wash before the sprays. I go to a reputable ENT and he says I'm "all clear up there" and I should have my sense of smell, but I don't. It comes in short spurts. I've also taken Prednisone and it has helped but only temporarily. It doesn't make any sense unless there are new polyps that a CT scan hasn't seen.
Avatar m tn 1) not all polyps are alike and the micro-anatomy of the polyp may be an indication of the likely cause, 2) nasal polyps are associated with allergens, occupational chemical exposures, cigarette smoking and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), 3) many but not all nasal polyps respond favorably to inhaled nasal steroids, 4) a subclass of polyps has been shown to exhibit a reduction in size in response to low dose doxycycline administered for 3 weeks and, 5) polyp size has been shown to decrea
Avatar n tn s case, the CT scan showed that he had a polyp in his sinuses and nasal polyps can cause sinus infection which can cause headache, a polyp can also cause pain on their own without infection... like headache pain. If he experiences any bleeding from his sinuses I would suggest taking him back to the doctor or hospital, because then the polyp situation could maybe be serious if there was pain and bleeding.
Avatar n tn I have had polyps and adenoids and nasal cavity surgery ,two years back, but since last week i am suffering with severe Sinus, first two days had blood in mucos from both nose and mouth, having administered with Ciproflaxcin 500mg and Alaspan,Aeo vit D3 &Otrivin nasal spray, the bleeding is stopped ,but the pain and irritation in ear & nose ,and dizziness and nausea persists.....What would be the best remedy ?????
Avatar m tn My doctor prescribed Pulmicort Respules and gave me a Neilmed irrigator to apply the dose. Do I fill the Neilmed with water and pour the respule in the water and mix, and then apply? Or do I just put one respule in the irrigator and irrigate without diluting? There are no directions...I'm guessing that I dilute the solution but does that impact efficacy?
1687346 tn?1305586491 HI! So I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has used acupucture to help with allergy and/or sinus issues? It has been almost 2 long years working with my allergist and ENT to figure out what is going on with my sinuses. I have already gone through sinus surgery and allergy shots.
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar m tn As for sprays, i know i have used Nasonex and Rhinocort and several others i cannot remember the name of. The ones you buy in the chemist i have tried as well. I have tried many decongestants, none of which have helped. As for the Afrin ( i just researched it) - and those sprays, like the chemist ones have bad rebound effects for me - After one use, my nose tends to block up - the drip does stop a bit with this, but obviously with worse side affects.
Avatar f tn While in India a pulmonologist at a good hospital diagnosed me with allergies and asthma (spiro something test before and after a med). I suddenly had developed wheezing and coughing after exposure to some toxic paint plus for a couple of years when I climb stairs I am short of breath. He said to take meds for a month at one dose and for another month at a half dose and to thereafter see another pulmonologist.
Avatar n tn t whether I should Just keep doing the Nasonex and nothing else and wait n see? or if I should take some Sudafed and see what that does. Im not usually a person that takes medicines a lot I usually just like to work out and exercise a lot and let my body take care of it. But I never had tinnitus for 2 months before haha...but I'm just wondering what would be the better alternative do you think?
531684 tn?1216745984 I am one of those 'supposedly' rare cases. I used nasonex in the past years off and on. Doctors kept saying it was a rare side effect to have nose bleeds, yet I can't even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex!
Avatar n tn I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
Avatar m tn Suggestion of the two things I have mentioned can; not saying they WILL. I would try them in combination.
Avatar m tn s what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun. Very clever, taking advantage of peoples' medical conditions.
Avatar n tn What can I do to identify the source of my problem? Some say that polyps are created by allergies and they come back if the allergy is not treated. I am out of resources... In the mean time, I will see a sinus specialist in May but I have seen him in the and he sent me home saying that I suffered from allergies.... Not too optimistic... Now that I managed to have a scan, at least, I can say that it's more than that... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I know that many cold remedies have Phenedrine and/or other stimlulants and I am wondering if any Afib patients out there take Nasonex or Flonase wihtout any problems.
