Avatar f tn Has anyone had chronic PND with loss of smell? Is there help for this???? I am desperate. I have suffered with this for years. I don't know exactly when my smell went completely, it was gradual. I want so desperately for it to return. I have taken immunotherapy, MRI, CT scan, lots of antibiotics, prescription nose sprays, nasal wash, etc. to no avail.
1687346 tn?1305586491 HI! So I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has used acupucture to help with allergy and/or sinus issues? It has been almost 2 long years working with my allergist and ENT to figure out what is going on with my sinuses. I have already gone through sinus surgery and allergy shots.
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Avatar n tn but the thing is, when i blow out of my nose hard and have something near my nose to smell i can!! so it seems something is blocking it again? and some days it comes back..but taste has only showed its face for couple of mins...if the nose receptors are blocked does that block the taste..I'm scared I've lost my taste for ever! Can i do anything to get my smell back eventually or a couple of taste buds back!!
Avatar n tn I fractured my skull Jan 2012 with bleeding, loss of consciousness all after a seizure. Two week later I lost my sense of taste and smell and later developed a bad taste/smell. Eating is NOT pleasant. I no longer enjoy pleasant scents. I only apply perfume I know smells good to me. I've lost 30 pounds simply because I can hardly stand the taste of food. It could be worse, I could have lost my eye sight or hearing. I try to look at it that way.
Avatar n tn Again, there are probably videos and interviews with fellow sufferers who can provide you with your answers. I remember one interview with a chef who had it and lost his sense of smell and taste and it hasn't come back yet, but he is undergoing a kind of occupational therapy to try and either recover it or learn to smell and taste in other ways.
Avatar n tn I noticed that at first my ringing was real low but then all of the sudden as soon I took the nasonex my ear ringing got a lot louder out nowhere and it also kind of started in the other a little bit then that went away. But my right ear kept buzzing loud for a couple of hours but then later that night around 1am in the morning I noticed that I didn't hear any ringing at all.
Avatar f tn The strange smell must be because of sinusitis. The smell getting worse during an attack of cold and the discharge trickling down the throat are features of sinusitis. Try taking mucolytics (bromhexine/ambroxyl), oral antihistaminics [(such as cetrizine or fexofenadine) if at all you are having any allergic nasal symptoms], saline nasal drops and steam inhalations. Also drink plenty of warm water. Hope these medications would alleviate your symptoms. Any more doubts you are welcome.
Avatar n tn I had a mild TBI a year and 7 months ago and lost the real sense of smell and taste. Over time it got only little better (20%) and that is it. I can imagine what you are going through and I am in the same boat. You can go the following link and relate what people going through and some got lucky to get it back. No one can predict what will be the outcome and keep praying (if you pray). http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. Injury to olfactory and lingual nerves of smell and taste could be a cause or it could be that nerves are in shock. Once swelling and contusion following the fall will subside some taste and smell may return. However, when this will happen is difficult to say. Your father should be shown to a neurologist once. Take care!
Avatar f tn After taking the puffer last night and this morning, I seem to have lost most of my sense of taste and smell. Is this normal? Should I stop taking the puffer?
Avatar f tn Fever and loss of smell and taste are suspicious for COVID; consider getting tested.
Avatar f tn I worked up the courage to ask a friend how my breath smelt and he’s like I don’t smell anything. Now I’m thinking all those years of humiliation and I could have solved it ffs! There’s a site about it called Oraltech Labs. Just google it. Anyway hope this works for you too. Sufferer no more!
Avatar m tn After a few days it started to smell bad and after a few more days he got rid of it. But he did not clean out the vase it was in. After a few more days I got this bad smell in my nose that is getting worse and worse. It has been over a month now and I have tryed nasel kit to flush out my nose. I have tryed a nasel spray called NASONEX that my Doctor put me on along with allegra. NOTHING IS WORKING. The smell is getting worse and it is causing all my food to taste bad.
Avatar f tn I drove everybody crazy helping me find this mysterious piece of meat. Now I know its just me smelling this foul odor. It seems to happen on and off and usually in the late evening hours and most of the time accompanied by a light headache and my sinuses get very clogged which makes my headache worse. Also, it happens when I tilt my head to the right.
Avatar n tn It has been 8 months since the EMTs drugged me with 24 shots of fenatyl in a 3-hour period causing me to remain unconscious for the next 8 days and to awake with a broken leg and no sense of smell. The EMTs also gave me Versed and Narcan. Can too many drugs destroy one's smeller? I hope your smell returns to you.
538745 tn?1213755988 Tinnitus may be the result of age-related hearing loss or ear injury, or it may be an indication of a disease of your circulatory system. Many medications have been tried to relieve tinnitus with varying degrees of success. Treatment consists mostly of managing the problem. Your doctor can discuss with you steps you can take every day to reduce the severity of the noise or to better cope with the noise. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
233622 tn?1279334905 Sorry if I have posted this question before. Any one have a loss of smell? I can not smell natural gas or my kids messy diapers. My MS doctor said she would generally send someone with a loss of smeel for an MRI to see if there was a tumor that was causing the problem but I had an MRI. I told her I thought it was from chronic allergies or sinus problems. She said sinus problems can cause loss of smell. We didn't talk about if it could be related to MS but I do wonder.
Avatar m tn The use of glucocorticoids (the medication is NASONEX, to the nose) can make someone immunocompromised? I used Nasonex for one month. I stopped using today, and I used the normal dose. I'll do a HIV test, so I need to know this question. Thank you guys!

Avatar f tn a dense of loss of smell/taste is usually from nasal congestion. i'm suffering from it now - i haven't been able to taste or smell food for at least a week. i wouldn't be too worried, though, because senses should come back soon. here's a link that may or may not help you understand what's going on in there... http://www.american-rhinologic.org/patientinfo.loss.
