Common Questions and Answers about Nasonex and ear infection

nasonex

Avatar n tn I noticed that at first my ringing was real low but then all of the sudden as soon I took the nasonex my ear ringing got a lot louder out nowhere and it also kind of started in the other a little bit then that went away. But my right ear kept buzzing loud for a couple of hours but then later that night around 1am in the morning I noticed that I didn't hear any ringing at all.
Avatar f tn I am 5 weeks post covid with symptoms of a possible ear nose and throat infection which will not go away after 2 courses of amoxycillin and now augmentin 625 mg and nasonex spray .
Avatar f tn Also, I was upset a couple times recently and if I start to cry, I can feel the fluid in my ear and it will make my right ear and right side of my throat ache. Please, someone answer this. I'm freaking out!

Avatar m tn Suggestion of the two things I have mentioned can; not saying they WILL. I would try them in combination.
Avatar n tn Just hoping the Nasonex helps with the pounding heartbeat in my ear and helps resolve some of the other issues too. Again, thanks for your input. I feel better about taking the Nasonex. Yarrow, I did read the link about Nasalcrom. I think I used that once, years ago. I need a steroid spray now, though, to take down the inflammation and swelling. But I'll keep Nasalcrom in mind too. MIght come in handy for the irritated, itchy teary eyes I often get in the spring.
Avatar f tn It does not sound like the antibiotic and Nasonex are working for you since you are still congested and you still have the ear/jaw pain. It is possible that you have a chronic sinusitis or you may be allergic to something (like a seasonal allergy). Either way, since you have had a failed course of antibiotics, I think you would benefit from an evaluation by an ENT. Good luck and sorry to have missed your question.
Avatar f tn Hi, have a culture and sensitivity test done to find out the correct antibiotic that the infecting organism is sensitive to and taking this medication for the required amount of days may help to clear the infection. Gently rinse the ear using a bulb syringe and warm saline solution. To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low. Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain. Regards.

538745 tn?1213755988 I been having this noise in my ear..sounds like I'm holding a shell up to my ear and the ocean is there ..Plus I get echos or hear twice noise when people talking or the tv..the higher the pitch the louder it is in my left ear..I went to doc here and was told my ear was clean not red no wax etc..so he said doesn't know what it is for now..having me take nasonex a day for two week..no cold here not even a sinus headache..
Avatar f tn Sensations of ear pressure, fluid, and inability to "pop" the ears are consistent with eustacian tube dysfunction (tube the regulates middle ear pressure). Having an upper respiratory infection (cold) or allergies can contribute to this problem and last for several weeks. Decongestants (both oral and nasal) can sometimes be helpful. Sometimes steroid nasal sprays can be helpful as well.

Avatar f tn Nothing ever comes out of my ear but when I lift my ear off the pillow there is a suctioning sound, and when I wiggle my finger in there I hear stuff. I also get a flutter felling in my ear sometimes. Whew...........My main concern is the phlegm/mucous in my throat. I take nasonex and prilosec (for suspected GERD) but nothing seems to help. ANy suggestions on what this could be or what I can do?
Avatar f tn I'm 16, and I recently got put on amoxicillin for a really bad eat infection. When I went to the doctor, he said he saw no problems other than in my left sinuses which he assumed was the problem for my ear ache/runny nose/sore throat, etc. I've been taking nasonex, sudafed, and just today stopped taking my amoxicillin pills.
Avatar f tn ) After couple days of fullness went to doctor and said I had a bad ear infection, and have been treated with amoxicillan for past 10 days. Now, I'm back to the more "normal" symptoms, along with some jaw soreness and soreness to pressure/touch inside the ear canal (outer canal only...not going into the ear canal) I am thinking that I only need to give it a few more days for everything to clear up, but am looking for any other advice or things I should be watching for?
Avatar f tn t really open my mouth all the way because of my ear hurting. Finally went to doctor today and he said I must have infection coming from my sinuses, which really haven't been bothering me much. Also both my ears have a lot of inflammation and fluid. He prescibed antibiotics and Nasonex. Hoping that starts working soon because I'm not feeling too great. You probably should go to the doctor and get it checked out before it gets as bad as mine.
Avatar f tn He said my right ear looked especially bad. He thinks the ear and throat issues are being caused by a sinus infection. He prescribed Nasonex and a Z-pak. Well after taking it for a couple days I could feel a lot of fluid sloshing around in my ears that won't come out. I ended up calling the doctors office because I only had a day left of antibiotics and my ears were still bothering me. They called in a prescription for Cefuroxime.
Avatar m tn Not saying you have this....but I had a sore throat for 2 years and saw 2 hospitals and 3 doctors til the Ear Nose and Throat doc. Turns out he slid a little tube w/ camera down my throat (took just 2 min)and it was a burned up vocal chord from reflux! Now take med and it's GONE!
Avatar n tn I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?
Avatar n tn Actually, I am deaf. When My left ear always ringing and pressure inside. My right ear is pressure and pop. Also, I had dizzly sometimes. I went to ENT and nothing help. One of my friend say, put hearing aid on!! but i don't have hearing aid myself. So, My idea is wearing the headphone with music. let me test with it for few weeks. It seems little bit help. my ringing stop but it will come back in few days. So, I keep to wear headphone with music. Sound like, My left ear is weak.
Avatar f tn The last few episodes progressed from scratchy throat to full blown ear/sinus infection and bronchitis in 3 days. The usual treatment plan is antibiotics, inhaler (with steroids), nasal spray (like Nasonex). I have been continuing the inhaler and nasal spray between episodes as well. The sinus/chest x-rays have come back with nothing that the doctor was concerned about. I like my doctor, but I think it's time for another opinion or a specialist. I'm not even sure where to start. ENT?
Avatar f tn I have been suffering for four weeks now with post nasal congestion and post nasal drip. I first went to the doctors and was diagnosed with sinus infection and was given antibiotics for 5 days. It got better but gave me a UTI and stomach cramps then when antibiotics were done the congestion and drip was back with the UTI. I was then given 10 days of antibiotics for sinus infection and another antibiotic for UTI. The UTI got better but the congestion stayed.
Avatar m tn Soon enough I went to visit a doctor about it who took a look at my ears and told me they were perfectly fine but he gave me some xyzal and nasonex nose spray. After taking both the noise began to slowly fade away but this odd feeling in my ear has still persisted and every time I yawn I can still feel the slight uncomfortable/pain at the left side of my neck.
Avatar f tn A couple times when I went to the doctor I was told I had fluid behind my ears (no infection), another time that I had an ear infection, and also had a sinus infection. I've been to my primary care physicain several times over this the past few months. Anyway, I finally decided to go to an ENT as this is obviously not going to go away on it's own. So, as I've never been to an ENT before, I was hoping someone could tell me what to expect.
Avatar m tn I have tried amoxicillin in case of a sinus infection, but that has done nothing, and I have also been using Nasonex daily to no avail. My first doctors visit came to the conclusion I had fluid in my ears which was causing the problem due to what they thought was ETD. but that was 5 days after the initial ringing. I've had two more doctor appointments since then, and they have done nothing to help.
Avatar f tn ve tried all the home remedies to remove the fluid....ear drops, hair dryer blown at ear, heat pack on ear, popping my ears (which I tried and failed to do). I can't find anything else to try that doesn't sound ridiculous. I am open to any suggestions. The fluid is driving me nuts and I can't hear.
