nasonex and ear congestion

I have a noise in my left ear sounds like listening to a sea shell and I hear echos listening to people talk or the tv.. he said ear was clean and gave me for two weeks Nasonex said if don't work come back..I don't have a cold nose isn't backup no sinus pain or head ache..is this normal to give allergy meds for ear problems ??

I also have been using Nasonex and Advil cold and sinus and still have the congestion as well as when the antibiotics finished the next day I got really dizzy and tired/achy. I am now on anti dizzy pills but still have congestion and tried Reaction for congestion and hasn't helped. I am told I need to see a ear/nose doctor but have no idea when the appointment will be they say they are booking in September. Any advice would help.

I noticed that at first my ringing was real low but then all of the sudden as soon I took the nasonex my ear ringing got a lot louder out nowhere and it also kind of started in the other a little bit then that went away. But my right ear kept buzzing loud for a couple of hours but then later that night around 1am in the morning I noticed that I didn't hear any ringing at all.

I have a feeling of pressure above my cheekbone between my temple and ear (roughly in the middle) what could it be? I'm taking nasonex (oral nose) and omeprazole (oral pill) i've had this feeling for 3 days now.

Hi, have a culture and sensitivity test done to find out the correct antibiotic that the infecting organism is sensitive to and taking this medication for the required amount of days may help to clear the infection. Gently rinse the ear using a bulb syringe and warm saline solution. To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low. Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain. Regards.

I eat well, I drink lots and lots of water, I dont drink alcohol, I do smoke-which i know i need to stop, and im on Nasonex spray, Astelin Spray, Allegra, Antivert (take as needed), Klonopin and Paxel (sp?). The Klonopin and Paxel are for the anxiety... Thanks in advance.

I have seen THREE doctors in the past 2 weeks concerning my tongue and left ear pain/congestion that comes and goes throughout the day and I have had the ear congestion for months... I got used to it. 3 weeks ago my tongue started having this burning/tingling sensation that got worse as the day went on. so my dentist put me on prednisone. after day 4 the burning went away but the tingling was constant.

Suggestion of the two things I have mentioned can; not saying they WILL. I would try them in combination.

Just hoping the Nasonex helps with the pounding heartbeat in my ear and helps resolve some of the other issues too. Again, thanks for your input. I feel better about taking the Nasonex. Yarrow, I did read the link about Nasalcrom. I think I used that once, years ago. I need a steroid spray now, though, to take down the inflammation and swelling. But I'll keep Nasalcrom in mind too. MIght come in handy for the irritated, itchy teary eyes I often get in the spring.

I've used several bottles, or several months, of Fluticasone Propionate, which is a steroid nasal spray... I think it is the generic of Flonase. It may be that I can't tell because I am in permanent atrial fibrillation. But I haven't identified any problems other than it doesn't help reduce my nasal congestion. I just switched to Astepro, not a steroid, and it too doesn't give my congestion much relief.

Started on Rhinochort in October-went to Nasonex, it worked better. Tried to discontinue medications in Feb and he had immediate symptoms again - returned to it. Nose specialist prescribed him with Nasonex 2x spray per day, Ceflour antibiotic, Anpro Loratadine, and Roximeth. But i worry about the STeroid effect to my son. . So i stop after taken 1 tablet of Roximeth after i found out this is steroid. Please advise any side effect if my son stop this Roximeth after 1 tablet ? (as doctor always advise me to finish it so i don't want to tell doctor) Nasonex also steroid spray right?

i saw the docter after and told him there was no change with the right ear , still pressure , noises , and pain , he then took me to see the consaltant and he looked in my ear and thats when he then told me and the doctor the ear drum had retracted. im now waiting for the mri scan and currently sniffing the nasonex spray at night, 2 puffs into both nostrils before bed. the ear dosent seem to be getting any better, ive been on the nasonex spray for 2 weeks now.

Nothing ever comes out of my ear but when I lift my ear off the pillow there is a suctioning sound, and when I wiggle my finger in there I hear stuff. I also get a flutter felling in my ear sometimes. Whew...........My main concern is the phlegm/mucous in my throat. I take nasonex and prilosec (for suspected GERD) but nothing seems to help. I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?

I have also been on a regimen of Nasonex and other sorts of nasal sprays that you need a prescription for. Once again, I saw temporary relief only to have the symptoms return. This summer (and now September) of 2008 has been really bad. (I lived in Japan from July 2006 to May 2008, and for some reason I had few allergic symptoms there). I am, like ever, waking up in the middle of the night unable to breathe because my nose gets congested. I blow my nose, but nothing gets drained.

Actually, I am deaf. When My left ear always ringing and pressure inside. My right ear is pressure and pop. Also, I had dizzly sometimes. I went to ENT and nothing help. One of my friend say, put hearing aid on!! but i don't have hearing aid myself. So, My idea is wearing the headphone with music. let me test with it for few weeks. Ear congestion - Blocked eustachian tubes. A bad head cold turned into a bad sinus and ear infection. Then, my ears got so congested it was hard to hear. I tried a variety of things. Finally, I went to the ear doctor, and she suggested an "ear popper". It is a small, handheld device which gently blows air into your nose. I guess it equalizes pressure inside and outside the eardrum or some such. After a day, my ears were clear most of the time.

It does not sound like the antibiotic and Nasonex are working for you since you are still congested and you still have the ear/jaw pain. It is possible that you have a chronic sinusitis or you may be allergic to something (like a seasonal allergy). Either way, since you have had a failed course of antibiotics, I think you would benefit from an evaluation by an ENT. Good luck and sorry to have missed your question.

After getting a URI over a month ago I took Antibiotics and thought I kicked it but shortly after the course of Ab's was completed I continued to suffer from congestion, cough, increasing sinus pressure, sneezing (frequently in sets of a half dozen or more), scratchy throat, insanely clogged ears where I feel as if I'm hearing underwater and cannot pop-yawn my left ear for over 5 days now.
