Tylenol (acetaminophen or paracetamol) is the most reccomended and has the least side effects. Actaminophen is liver toxic in certain circumstances. If a person is a chronic drinker they will have elevated detoxification enzyme (CYP450 2E) and this enzyme is the responsible party for creating reactive metabolites in tylenol overdoses.

I await the Avonex Rx to come in on Monday, first Shot is at the MD's office on 12/15/07. Does anyone know how many days later or if immediately side effects show up? Arthrotec is a NSAID, similar to ibuprofen or naproxen. Acetaminophen is not an NSAID. All medications come with side effects and our bodies respond differently to different medications. There are more effective pain reducers than acetaminophen, even in it's drug class. I won't bore you with repeating the suggestion to seek medical attention asap. You seem like an intelligent person and know what you are doing is dangerous. It's like playing Russian Roulette.

Because of massive side effects on tx and post tx - (whether those were just excaberated by the tx or not) - my doc has kept me on Percocet 10/325. (tylenol substance is the 325 part). But I take one --- 1/4 every 4 hours - or a full one - once a day AS NEEDED. The problem is your liver --- and it filters everything that goes into your blood. It removes the toxins in your body. But EVERYONE is different. So depending on your biopsy - and your level of damage - discuss it with your doctor.
I have the itching side effect from this medication. It's really annoying, but no other serious side effects. It does give me insomnia at night. I feel like I drank two cups of coffee! Is all this Vicodin/Vicoprofen/Naproxen OK for my liver? My last ast/alt were completely normal after retesting after 1 month without using Naproxen. The Dr.s say since my enzymes were normal (a couple months ago) it is ok for me to be taking these meds. But, like I said, I have been having sporadic upper Rt ab pain for the past week. Did you have a liver biopsy to determine how much liver damage/liver fibrosis you have? Knowing the amount of liver fibrosis you have is important, especially if you are considering waiting. But it is important anyway because those with cirrhosis treat for 48 weeks whereas some with lesser liver fibrosis can treat for 24 weeks (depending on various factors). If your liver is at Stage 3 or 4, treatment becomes urgent.
